Excellent scrap session I scrap all the ups that I get it's not worth trying to sell them if something happens with it they want you to pay for it. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video with us six stars brother
ewasteben does UPS systems regularly. Lots of batteries, transformers and #1 cable. While pulling out #1 cable, some times it comes out with brass connectors. Before putting the cable in #1 bin, you can cut the brass ends. Not much but I saw you had few brass ends connected to the cable.
Better to scrap them out… its not worth the hassle if you sell them and the backup is weak then you will get complaints from the buyer… plus you just dont know the history… take care great videos keep them coming 👍💪⭐👏👌
I got one of those I had myself and stopped working so I took it apart. There's a lot of good stuff in it. There's a reason why people put this stuff out at the curb or people give it to you. It doesn't work. I never pluck anything in that. I get off the side of the road. I just take them apart for what's inside. It's far safer. 👍👍🙂🇨🇦
9/10 times the issue with UPS units is the battery goes bad. They are usually really easy to replace, but the battery costs nearly as much as a brand new UPS.
Test it with a load.. and unplug it from the mains! And hey even turn on without power so dont even plug them in. Best is full capacity of its rated wattage. usually the batteries are the weakpoint. But since the other once burned out... Please dont use them in your house. A new smaller one is just fine for only one pc. They are cheap. Not worth risking a burning house!
Agreed if they are plugged into the main it will look like they work but actually only half the sockets work because the batteries are dead. Plug them in for awhile and then see if all the sockets work. If not the batteries are toast.
Phil - that was most Interesting stripping those UPS's - very Good Values again ! Thanks and many Cheers from Australia !

I noticed many copper coils near your #2 cable bin on your work bench. I hope you will do a video with those to show copper output??

Brilliant video mate cheers Phil 😎👍😁
Thanks 👍
try plugging a lamp or something into them without connecting power easy way to find out if batteries are gone
I would strip them. Without fully being able to test, I would not want to sell someone a potentially faulty product.

Phil love watching these stripping videos would really like to go street scrapping again love from across the pond 👍👍💪❤️❤️
👍
I would just scrap them, it's too much of a risk trying to sell them when they might be faulty.
👍🌹💪

Thanks for the tips!
I don't think it's worth the risk to sell them if there's a chance of them catching fire
