@@bev9708 Really enjoy running in this shoe, though only had two runs in it for a total of 26k's. I felt it to be more springy/responsive than what I'm used to, which is a great feeling, so I love the mid-sole and out-sole combo. The fit and feel of the upper I love also...a nice snug fit for me with plenty space in the toe box. The laces can be tricky as most wearers can attest to, but you get there in the end. I'll add, for comparison sake, that the last few months I've been clocking up the k's in Epic React 2 and Rincon.

Nice early thoughts. Seems yet another shoe that the hype is better than the actual on feet experience. On the face of it 9/12 is pretty good but for that you think it ought to be good on your faster days but it does not appear to be overly special and I note that was where where you marked it down. Kind of feeling that about the New Balance TC. I enjoyed the Brooks Launch 5 & 6 but passed on the 7 after terrible reviews so not sure about Brooks these days. Look forward to seeing Mrs EddBud. Mrs G is now intercepting new shoes at the door - not good to smuggle a few more in :) Is your "studio" in an outbuilding? I use my treadmill "cabin" to also store some shoes (and boxes) and some of Daisy's biscuits of course.

Hi Edd ive just received the new Saucony Freedom 3 very impressed the upper is a lot like the NB Beacon very comfortable . Went for a short run today very springy. Don't think this shoe will suit the bigger heavier runner as the cushioning is very soft and will probably bottom out .
Anyway, thanks for a bit of comparison with the NB Beacon. The Beacon was not working very well for me in the past. I'm lowering my expectation in the Hyperion Tempo now. I'm not going to spend that amount of money if I'm not sure it will work for me. Interested to hear your full review though.

Good to hear it was not as soft as I thought it might be..takes it off my list..so I will try a hoka Clifton 6 or 7 as my next long run shoe..I did get the asics nova blast and did 21+ miles yesterday..so far the best long shoe I've used..at 350-400 miles per month they come and go fairly quickly

I have a daily trainer (ghost 15) and a super-max shoe (more v4) and I'm looking for a tempo shoe, which is how I stumbled across this vid. Can you help point me in the right direction? I am *not* going to run a competitive time, simply looking for a shoe that will can handle intervals, sprints, and track work to get me faster. Low stack, wide toe box, plates--whatever, I'm willing to try anything as a newbie. Think you could recc some of your videos or other resources? Cheers!

This was on my shortlist a while ago but to be honest the cost was a bit off-putting. When I bought an alternative I was a bit too keen to wear them and hadn't hydrated property (cups of tea all afternoon) so my first runs were terrible. Nice close-ups of the shoe by the way, particularly of the laces and sole, probably helps people planning to gamble with shoe purchases online rather than in a shop whilst on lockdown

hi, i received this shoes last week i ran a 10 and a 5k into it. it was a surprise feeling. i agree with you that is ok if you are on a tempo pace, but if you try to push harder is not responding as you would like to. what i liked is that the shoes are firm, not very bouncy, but with good cushioning, after 10k i was surprised that i did not feel tired the day after.
A little firm on the initial runs. Maybe they will start to mellow like pizza dough?! Who knows. Will keep testing them. Thanks for watching and stay safe 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
I think I concur with your scores here Ed, with the exception of the outsole which I find pretty piss poor, especially on wet pavement. For $150 US a shoe should be able to stick to the ceiling if need be. I actually just got the Salming En Route 3, which seems comparable in its intended use, and so far that shoe has impressed me way more than the Brooks. Thanks as always!
We have some wet weather again so might chance them later for the vital water test! The flatter outsoles never seem to work well on wet surfaces. The Takumi sen is the master in wet ground with its many outsole bobbles. Thanks for tuning in Cameron. It’s always appreciated 😊👍🏼🏃🏻♂️

It's my favorite shoe so far, and I'm so sad it probably is going out of production after the Tempo NEXT% is released. Do you know if the NB Rebel or any other shoe have the same mix of lightweight, nice cushion and responsiveness as the Turbo 2?

I can't help but notice you're heel striking a lot. Makes me cringe a lot watching it. I highly recommend seeing what you can do to help that and become a mid foot or forefoot striker, your body will thank you later. A friend of mine was a heel striker and it ended up creating some lower back problems.
Thanks for noticing but I rarely get any injuries and consistently run 40 miles a week. The last thing I’m going to do is change the technique I have right now based on observations of my running form via a GoPro whilst I’m running recovery paces. It’s pretty difficult running anything about 8:00/mi as you can’t hold a large selfie stick and do that. Believe me when I’m running at race pace it probably looks a little different. Either way thanks for noticing and commenting and watching. It’s much appreciated.
@@EDDBUD just wanted to point it out. I was fortunate enough to coach for a year so I'm a little picky about that kind of stuff understandably. Enjoying the content lately so decided to subscribe. I'm always on the prowl for shoes to keep on ice for when the current ones die out.
No worries Jacob. I find that we find out best form from lots of slower running and consistency. I don’t race all that often ( well none of us do right now! ) so tend to focus on training and slow but steady improvement. Thanks for your observations though and also for subscribing. For the price the speed is the better shoe. More versatile even for racing. The tempo is quite a niche option. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️

Hi Ed, I have Next% for racing, & want to buy two training shoes, one for long/easy runs, & one for speed/tempo/parkruns. I had Turbo 2s & used them in rotation with some "retired" Boston8s. What 2 pairs of training shoes would you recommend? Would the Novablast & Reebok Run Fast 2 be good & complimentary choices? Thanks & stay safe

I would go triumph 17 for the long easy runs and the reebok run fast 2 for the tempo and speed work. The triumph is superb. A little weighty but super comfortable. Hope this helps Dave!

EDDBUD Good video!! I had my eye on this shoe for faster days or even Marathon because of its light weight. It’s not available yet it Canada so went for the Evoride instead. Quite firm indeed. Would you consider the Hyperion tempo for a marathon under “non carbon plate” category? Cheers
For me, i think half is really the max distance due to its firmness... what insoles did you switch to EDDBUD?
I grabbed my Pegasus turbo insoles. I found the originals a little harsh. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
outsole look more like a 0.5 out of 3 than a 2.5 Ed. It will disappear under your foot will running like snow in the sun.
The next few runs will be interesting to see if it wears at all. No signs thus far. 😊👍🏼🏃🏻♂️

I can't help but notice you're heel striking a lot. Makes me cringe a lot watching it. I highly recommend seeing what you can do to help that and become a mid foot or forefoot striker, your body will thank you later. A friend of mine was a heel striker and it ended up creating some lower back problems.
Thanks for noticing but I rarely get any injuries and consistently run 40 miles a week. The last thing I’m going to do is change the technique I have right now based on observations of my running form via a GoPro whilst I’m running recovery paces. It’s pretty difficult running anything about 8:00/mi as you can’t hold a large selfie stick and do that. Believe me when I’m running at race pace it probably looks a little different. Either way thanks for noticing and commenting and watching. It’s much appreciated.
@@EDDBUD just wanted to point it out. I was fortunate enough to coach for a year so I'm a little picky about that kind of stuff understandably. Enjoying the content lately so decided to subscribe. I'm always on the prowl for shoes to keep on ice for when the current ones die out.
No worries Jacob. I find that we find out best form from lots of slower running and consistency. I don’t race all that often ( well none of us do right now! ) so tend to focus on training and slow but steady improvement. Thanks for your observations though and also for subscribing.
