Ben still out here buying entire shoe lines with his own money. What a baller. Truly makes the review so much more authentic and believable.
100 % plus you don't need to hear those disclosure bs.
@@jjchang9874lol for sure. That gets old.
Note that the Brooks foam tends to work very well out of the box for larger runners. For us lighter runners, there’s a break in period (Glycerin 21)
Awesome video! Hit all the points I needed and loved the way you presented each shoe in comparison to each other. I just subscribed. 😊
Great video! Love my Glycerins GTS, but you're absolutely right. Not a speed shoe.
Hope there's a New Balance video in the pipes! 🎉 And one on Altras would be super interesting ❤
The Glycerin is my favorite Brooks shoe. I have decided to keep it in my rotation and I will continue to buy the previous year’s models as they go on sale. I got my 20’s for $80 and I look forward to getting the 21’s when they come on sale. They are very comfortable and they will last a lot of miles. I feel that I truly got a great value for this shoe that will probably get around 700-800 miles of wear. Great review of the Brooks line.
Would you recommend the Glycerin 21 for a 3:30ish marathon? I can't really justify spending super shoe money, so I'm hoping to find a comfy and affordable alternative that won't slow me down too much.
@@vetzaaak I'm also interested. I run about a 9 min mile
@@drewman747 I guess it also depends on your weight, your personal preference, foot shape, running technique/biomechanics, etc…
I’m giving the Adizero SL2 a try. Seems like it might offer the right combination for me in terms of weight, energy return, support, cushion,…and its a bit cheaper than the Glycerin too.
I tried size 8.5 and it is too big and tried size 8 and too small...
Good review Ben glad I picked up the glycerin 21 hopefully get a PB in Manchester 🤞
Thanks Ben. New runner and started in the Adrenaline GTS and Hoka Clifton for when I want more cushion. Going to try ASICS based upon your video
Good video mate I think you’ll like the ghost max 2 as you like the superblast… out in the summer along with Hyperion max 2 which will also be a banger ❤ keep up the great work see you in London
Just got my Hyperion Max and I’m absolutely obsessed. I think about it all the time and it makes me want to run more. I’ll probably order it in another color or two just to make sure I have some extras.
Ever since I got into running I’ve always stayed with Brooks. As someone with flat feet they’re extremely comfortable and I couldn’t see myself going to any other brand. I came to this video because I’m trying to find a Brooks shoe that’s good for people with flat feet but also good for marathon training/racing since I’ll be doing one in October. Currently I have the Adrenaline 23’s & though I’ve stuck with that model for awhile now I’ve also tried looking at others like the Glycerin Stealthfit or something else
Thank you Ben! I would love to see a video about all the New Balance shoes. Greetings from Brazil.
Great video. Have you ever reviewed shoes from Topo and Altra? It could be nice to see something from the opposite end of the scale (wider, lower stake etc.)
I have the adrenaline. Very comfortable and supportive plus the 12mm drop helps out with my current walking/running pattern due to a knee and ankle injury
Good job, Ben. Really appreciated 🫶
Thanks Ben. Great, honest reviews! 👏 I use the adrenaline for my easy shoe but might try glycerin after hearing this. I've considered buying the hyperion elite but the masculine colours put me off. 🙈
Ben Parkes is correct when it comes to the Hyperion lineup. Do NOT wear them every day but do leave it be for 48 hours. I have an OG Hyperion tempo ($ 65.00 sale) and I learned the hard way about them when I bought my first pair.
🎉 you are doing an amazing job, thank you
Thanks, this was really insightful - how about Mizuno?
Thanks!
I love the Glycerin 20 Neutral--for those looking for a bargain, the 20s are still out there for very reasonable prices! I actually wear them for racing as well as training. I like how quickly I recover from my long runs from them.
I used to wear the Adrenalines, but I found them too rigid--I don't really need a stability shoe, I guess. The Ghosts didn't offer enough support for me.
Been waiting for these
New balance and adidas please🔥
Great review as ever Ben, I just cannot get excited by any shoe in the Brooks range, they are all good, some very good but there always seems to be a better comparable shoe in another brand's range
Can't wait for Hyperion Max 2 to release. That shoe looks amazing.
I was hoping to see you review the beast
How’s the editing for Sarah’s video(s) going? That’s me being hopeful adding the “s” that it’ll be more than one! You mentioned she was going to start posting again, starting with the vlogs of her recent races but I haven’t seen anything post to her channel yet. I love your videos, but I really miss her badass woman ultra runner content. I am slowly increasing my distance with my eye on ultras in the future and finding her videos when she first started her channel helped get me into running.
Great video. I'm new to running I'm on week 15 on coach to half marathon 😅 week 12 I did a 14 mile run. Each week I do 2 x 8/10, 1 x 5 and 1 x 2.5 sprint. I do a monthly big run last one being my 14, next month I'll just go with what I feel. I use Adrenaline gts 23. On my big run I get a bit of runners knee towards the end and depending on gradient. Today I added glycerin gts 21 into my rotation and to use for my "longer" runs for extra cushioning. Watching your video I'm unsure now cuz many say say it's more of a long running shoe uve said more short recovery? Am I reading too much into it ? 😅
Can you review the Puma range please? I’ve been really impressed with the Velocity Nitro 2 and am keen to try the others.
Sir, what Brooks can you suggest that can be used for marathon training and marathon race day shoe? I'm a newbie with a heel to midfoot strike. Thanks
did you get the glycerin stats right - G20 us size 9 = 266 g and the G21 us size weighs 283 g?
Do best track spikes and cross country spikes next
Do you have any opinions on the hyperion tempo
My daily is an Adrenaline GTS and I have the Glycerin 20 as my long/marathon shoe. I’m not quick enough for carbon plates!
Good review Ben! 👟
Someday, I’d like to see you review Topo Athletic’s line of running shoes.
And Altra 😅😊
What do you think of the Glycerin vs Gel Nimbus?
What shoe of the brooks range would you use for above beyond marathon distance?
Which Brooks best for walking or standing for long hours?
Love the adrenaline 21 and 22, 23 is great but the laces are too short.
Going to try Glycerin gts after watching your video. Thanks, Ben! Exelent video!
From a brooks nut
I currently own three pairs of Adrenalines. Two of them the laces are the perfect length. But for one of them, the laces are way too short. I'll need to change the laces out. Not sure why they have such inconsistency with their laces. But I love the shoe itself!
Could you do a shoe review for heavy marathon RUNNER’S?
28mm stack in the glycerin? That’s very low isn’t it? Almost everything seems to have 33-35 at least.
Altra review would be nice 👌🏻
Could you review/compare Altra, please. The only brand that makes range of shoes for wide footers.
I would love to see an ON lineup!
Question for you, when you’re saying the Glycerin isn’t good for faster paces, are you talking about a specific fast pace? I’m a new runner, only running for a year, and my 5k pace is around 9:30. Because I’m thinking your easy run may be my mile pace 😂
Is a nine min mile doable in the glycerin
They just need more color options in wide. The 23s have a yellow option with blue accents that are super fly but aren't available in wide.
what about brooks levitate 6?!
When i got my new shoes at the store, i slipped in the ghost 15s, and it felt very good. Did not regret buying them. Hold up a long time. Over 300kms done in them, and you dont really see it. Even the sole seems untouched even with my weight >100kg on it
I started running at around 103 kg (now down to 90) and the Brooks Ghost as well as Divide 4 are perfect for heavy runners. I once tried a NB fresh foam X 840 which was way too mushy for my weight.
But I also love my old Asics J33.
Been using the Ghost 15 for easy runs to replace my Nike Pegaus 38. Now I'm more a Saucony girl
I've just bought glycerin 21 so comfy, like running on clouds . Ran 21.3k in them today in 1.49.22 a PB for me
Do you find the foam is actually softer than the 20? They were too firm for me.
@@Echom4-kr5el sorry , have not tried the 20 , not my first Brooks shoes but it is my first glycerin model
Do Decathlon kiprun!
I’m doing London Marathon in the Ghost Max.
Does anyone know about the Brooks Defyance 12 shoe? If it’s good…
I find brooks sneakers to be a bit longer then normal shoes I’m a size 9 and I have a wide foot and I usually go a half size up with a wide sneakers and I got a pair of brooks adrenaline 21 and it was a half size to big only pair of sneakers that didn’t fit perfectly in 9 1/2 I almost never wear a size 9 because I always feel a little bit tight in the toe box
Please do Adidas next.
Yeah
absolutely
Yes!
Expensive videos
Maybe
Very nice with a Brooks comparison. Years ago I ran a lot in Brooks shoes both road and trail. But they somehow fell behind many other brands. Their current high drop shoes doesn't work that good for me and their midsoles just felt so old fashioned. The Glycerin looks pretty interesting but that 10 mm drop...not so interesting again
Could you do new balance?
Hyperion Max ❤
Altra review please Ben!
Please do New Balance, Adidas or Puma next. They all have lots of shoes that seem to do the same thing 🤔
Ghost Max is, imo, the best daily Brooks shoe.
Please do New Balance next.
He finally did it
No Ghost Max?
Yes - love brooks although Hoka win for trail and race ☺️
Not watched the video yet, but literally just bought a pair of Ghost 15s - I hope the review of them isn't terrible!
ok, so that was done first, glad it seems good!
#MexicanGreetings! Great review! Super high drop, soooo I think that the best shoe brand to be reviewed next would have to be Altra! From massive to zero drop! 😅
You didn’t do the ones I run in the caldera
Would be great to see a Puma version of this 👍
Nice
I have flat foot like duck so always hard to find wide running shoes. I should just do swimming😂. All(almost)good runners have small and short foots, I have not Euro 47. And don't like high heels shoes. Drop about 6mm is for me. 12mm is like running downhill on flat surface.
My nails get blacked too.
So some specs are really important. We are not same anatomically. And we have cold winter...🇫🇮.
I feel your pain...😮
Yeah my feet is designed for swimming not running😂. And I have black nails(second and third toes) only right foot not left!?🤔 Shoes are right size and have many brands for different purposes...
Most comfy toe box of the Brooks shoes for me is the Divide 4. 8 mm drop. It's a trail running shoe but works perfectly fine for me on asphalt.
Puma line up please Ben.
Please review On shoes
I do regret #Brooks are no longer sold in my country.
The most durable brand I've ever run with. Hopefully I still have 3 brand new pairs in their own boxes...
Really a pitty!
#ComeBackBrooks
I’m still trying to like my Ghosts. The drop makes the forefoot feel under-cushioned, and the midsole is a bit too firm and not particularly responsive either! Underwhelming so far…..
Which Brooks shoe has a wider toe bed but not heel?
Brooks Divide 4. 8 mm drop, super comfy toe box.
New balance review?😊
no review of my fav brooks shoe the launch ? :/
No comment on Beast or Ariel????
I need a stability shoe as I badly over pronate. I've discovered Mizuno Wave runners and love them. If there are more Mizuno shoes, could you review them please?
Puma please Ben 👍
Im a basic boi. Adrenalines have never done me wrong
Where is the ghost max...why not included in the review....
He bought the shoes with his own money so he cant really buy every model..
Hi for brooks shoes any series for wide feet for men
4e
@@urgonnaluvitthanks for the reply
Adidas next, please.
word of advice don't spill boiling pasta water on your foot while wearing a Ghost 15 might as well be bare foot
ADIDAS pleaseeee🙏🏻
Adidas please
Best for bunions?;)
4e width ghost
Adidas? Seems like a quite confusing brand for a full rotation.
I'm glad I watched this video. Saved money by buying none of these Brooks shoes. It has to be the worst running shoe brand. 😅🎉👟 😂
It's definitely not the worst. I quite like the Brooks Divide 4. 8 mm drop, very comfy toe box.
Saucony pls🙏
He did a saucony video last year
@@Nige. Hope to see an updated version with the Endorphin 4 line-up
@@lehitimo ah yes, sorry didn’t realise it was a 2024 video
Adidas
Jkk,
the answer is they all suck
I’ve boycotted Brooks because they commercialised / ruined Parkrun
The Brooks’s shoes have same similar feel to it. Its firm.
I have 150 miles on the glycerin, very comfortable.
