Happy to see this update. Been checking every day since Saturday. Lol. I have the opposite problem for my trans. I have a YS1, but converted to hydro pedal assembly. I think I may just revert back to cable setup to make things easier.
I had a similar hydro/cable bracket on mine. I originally had an ebay one that liked to bind up sometimes and the geometry was wrong. My clutch pedal was cocked out so far left that it wouldn't go down far enough to release the clutch. I had a somewhat heavy Competition Clutch pressure plate that was in the car when I got it and I destroyed 3 pedal assemblies. The one that was in the car when I bought it was already pretty messed up....then I killed two CRX assemblies (which are stronger) and one plain EF assembly. I swapped to the bracket like yours and went to an Action Clutch 4 puck unsprung unit and it was much much better but still too much for a stock EF pedal assembly and it was starting to bend after a month or so. I went to the Hush cable to hydro conversion shortly after I noticed the bending and had zero issues afterwards. I actually was able to force their slave cylinder bracket onto the bent EF assembly and it lasted until I sold the car. That bracket is heavy duty and really triangulates the weak spots in the stock assembly. I don't know if you can still buy it by itself but it's worth it even if you plan to keep the cable and conversion bracket setup.
Thanks for the super interesting share. I'd love to do the Hush Performance setup that they still offer which is full hydro, but these parts were essentially "free" so I decided to use them for now. I may actually sell and get the Hush kit once the season is over.
The itr tranny is a great choice for the track you’ll be in your powerband majority of the time and an upgraded lsd as well makes it so much more fun. Surprisingly enough too is with the 4.7 fd you really dont see a hit in mpg as most people would think
need some of that woven heat shield stuff for your header's, might keep that cable from melting at least a little bit longer but I'm sure it's not full proof.
Hey Jon, don’t know if you already swapped to a smaller throttle cable, but an eg cable works as well! I used one on my z6 swapped EF, and it fits perfect in the pedal and will get rid of all that slack. Mine was getting stuck on my neuspeed strut bar and sticking open! Super sketchy!!
@@GarageBuiltHondas no problem! I took a small vacay from efs, but just recently traded a gs300 I paid $2k for, for a b16 swapped fwd wagon, and an RT4WD wagon. I’m happy to be back in one everyday lol
Hey I’m dropping a b16a2 into my 1990 integra DA. What distributor, alternator and starter do I need for my set up to work? I’m using the stock harness from the Integra da.
Helpful video as always! I have a known solid hydro LS trans with installed LSD for a B20 swap in by 88 CRX SI, wondering what the best option was for cable to hydro. Hush kit looks sweet but for 88 you have to swap to a later pedal assembly which is kind of a bummer.
You can buy a rebuilt one from synchrotech or manual gearbox LLC. I think even geardriven is selling them. They are expensive but worth it. Or if you're broke like me get a used one lol. I paid 350 for both of my small spline LS cable trans one from a friend and one from eBay. They cost alot more for a b series than a d series but its worth it. You could use a hydraulic trans they are easier to find usually.
I have a 92 GSR that came swapped with a b18ba2? w a 2 speed manual transmission…. Now a b18c1 is going in with its hydro 5 speed transmission… currently made a full hydro conversion with the master cylinder on the pedal assembly…. Just curious to see if I need new axles or do the axles on the b18b1
Love this video! I went with a cable-tranny because it was the first available but it had no markings on it. How do you tell if it’s LSD or open? Thx! Still it in the car, btw
@@GarageBuiltHondas thanks, Jon! I have an open. :(. Oh well, it’s all I had available and I’m just putting n a stock JDM B16a anyway. Not power hungry, just want more track ability
Do you have any issues with the trans hitting the passenger side frame? My b16 hydro trans is hitting the frame on any kind of hard shifting or taking off.
Zero. And I tracked it once with this setup. If you're using generic mounts, that may be the problem. I'm using Hasport with the softest bushing and no issues.
@@GarageBuiltHondas I'm using innovative billet mounts with the 95a inserts. I had this same setup in my sedan and it never hit but it hits in hy hatch. Kinda interesting, maybe I can loosen the mounts and move it over a little? If not guess I'll be adding a midplate mounted to the traction bar lol
Jon is there any way you can make a video of what every electrical part is and does. I got wires under neath the steering column that are almost melted showing bare wire. Most of the wires are sleeved with duck tape. I ran my car hard yesterday which i know i shouldnt have done. After the session i was driving back yestderday and the car died on me. The fuse was 25amp. I noticed none of the fuses are what they are suppose to be all mixed matched amps. I got wires cut or frayed. Relays or fuse boxes not bolted to anything. This goes back to my request in that maybe if you can help out with naming electrical parts so i can cross refrence them to a wiring diagram. Maybe if hints on sensors if swaps are to be done like d15 to d16/zc This moring again the car cranked but no start. The only thing different from before to now was zip tie the wire rats nest under the steering column so that i would rub the wires with my leg. I touch the wire nest with my hand and it started up. Got to work and tried it again. Started. I know my o2 was giving me problems before. Replaced it recently but i think its still giving me problems. Had code 1 last night moved the wiring no code. I need to spend more time following wires and labing them and checking out pins
