@@trblnova I hear you I got two friends of mind who are doing swaps coming from b18c1 to k20 One a ek9 and the other a grs swapped eg and yes it is expensive ass hell
Literally you’ve become my new favorite channel, hopefully picking up a EK Hatch soon, and I plan on doing engine swap with my sons. Really excited to be gaining so much knowledge from your channel man, really grateful. You have no idea.
Anakin Skywalker haven’t found a good B18C Type R engine yet, still kinda saving because I lost my job from all this stuff. So cars are just sitting, but I got the Hatchback so obtaining the car I thought would be the hard part, but getting the engine seems to be pretty hard. Life is just super jacked up right now with my wife and I getting laid off, so who know when I’ll get to swap it. I’ll report back here when I do though, I bought multiple books like the Hanes and factory Service Book, gunna buy a B Swap book, and then hopefully if I can when the opportunity arises, get a nice engine and trans with ECU. I just want to build it back to factory OEM spec and enjoy it.
Hey. My son is so into Honda. I know this clip is 2 years old, but it is very helpful as he is currently doing the exact same conversion. Keep up the great work. From south africa
The Native Cen_Cal d15b7 to d16y8 is very easy youll need a z6 dizzy you can use injectors and alternator from the b7 on the y8 and everything else is plug and play if I remember correctly
I learned a lot from you from the years I been watching now everything is like a quick breeeze and nothing to worry about can’t wait for the track to open
appreciate it man , you really putting some sense on helping everyone learn how to swap engine work etc. My dad got me a 92 civic hatchback it came automatic, but the engine had some issues with it. Burning oil, coolant, etc . We finally decided on B swapping it , Since I just got my Liscense and learned / still learning how to drive stick. This will help alot on building it and putting it into my hatchback. 🙂👍🏽
Man I've been watching you and commenting under different emails for almost 5 years now and your channel deserves more lovee than any other channel ever don't get discouraged and keep it up please keep up the realest videos on TH-cam stay blessed my homie !
Always learning something new Watching these kind of videos. Even though I don’t have a Honda anymore I drive a WRX now.. I still enjoy the work you do! 👍
Sick I'm I'm b20v swapping my new hatch in the next day or so been years since I've pulled a motor this is exactly wat I needed to see awesome bro big thanks
im late watching this video but im 15 and started working on cars im getting a 1995 honda civic coupe 1.5lsi and going to do a engine swap on it, thanks for this video it was very informational and i learned a few things :)
Rewatching your old videos again and still learning. I can see by your single click use of the torque wrench that this video is after people talking crap about the torque wrench double click. Be easy out there y'all.
Sweet!! I did the same on my 92 hatch an on my buddies 95 coupe. He dailys his everyday 140 miles a day with a ls trans. Should also note that to also do a valve lash with these engines. They are a little loose when they come in. We did a few swaps in town an they are good engines. Glad to see a hatch on here again. Just made my day.
Great info and solid content. Never get tired or bored with this kind of footage. Ultimately most of us fans who "build to drive" want to watch videos on building cars. Racing is cool too but not needed to stay interested
Thank you for this video. I am doing this exact swap soon. I have been pulling apart my crv and logging all the parts I'm pulling and cleaning as I go. This video helps alot. If you need any 98 spec crv parts let me know.
Currently swapping my 93 del sol s d15b7 to a b18b1 just waiting on my mounts. This video was a huge help cuz the engine harness that came with my swap Is a hacked up obd2 harness everything on it is obd1 except injectors so I can use my d15 injectors and harness
Aweosme man, this is one of the most informative videos to date for guys like me that are finally now just gettin into the Homda Love. 2000 civic B20b low comp with skme mugen headers amd itr cams. So mucb fun to drive.
Idk if u know this but a ls obd2 engine harness plugs right up into the eg car harness so u can let the motor stay obd2 (dizzy, injectors, alternator) only thing is u gotta run a wire from the dizzy to the driver side tower for ur tach to work (wire is caped off)
We love the wrenching videos......all your content is good. ..... the videos that you think are repetitive and monotonous are fresh fuel for the new ones coming into the car scene..... you and your crew are positive and have each others back. The car scene needs all of that it it can can get. Each one teach one!!!!!!!
I am so glad I found this. I have a 01 crv with a b20z in it and I'm purchasing a 93 civic exactly like the one you show in this video and I've been hunting for guides on how to do the swap. But do you think it would be possible to put a D series motor from the civc into my crv so I could still keep them both driving (I get snow where I live so having a awd car would still be nice)
I used the obd2 alternator plug in my ef b20 swap. Saved me some funds and works gud plus my alternator plug was already missing and my b20b came with the obd2 plug lol so worked out really good
Always got it going ... Only thing i noticed is you didnt mention the mid comp ... Theres actually 3 versions... And if needed the d series trans mount works
Yes sir I salute a og like you, applause 👏 🙌 you are a book of knowledge that I wish was around my hood, nyc for real. I want my crv manual style after watching your vids man
Bro your vids are always good dont matter what you are doing. Hella make me want to get my ef hatch done. Keep it up bro, from the 209 so i listen to your stuff, you know about smog 💯🔥
Hey Dana , I have a 92 civic with a new oem engine harness but it is missing the plug for a throttle body mounted map sensor. I was wondering if you could help me get a pin out or something so I can wire one in. Anyways keep up the work G progress is better than no progress
This video is gonna pay off big time for me. JDM B20B high compression motor on it's way to my garage to swap into my EG Hatch race car. The whole axle, half shaft, mounts, deal got my head spinning but this cleared some stuff up for me. Almost missed the post mount on the drivers side.
Yo this guy is truly the real deal!!!! Hands down knows what he’s talking about, 2:30am got me looking up swaps lmao🤣
Me too man lmao I gotta 2000 civic that's been in the garage sitting for years.....

Man's a machine
Finally, an EG hatchback! 😃
I’m swapping out my D15B7 for a D16Y8. I wonder how hard it’ll be.
Swap driver side mount bracket, injectors, alternator. I believe the b7 dizzy bolts up to the y8 if not you’ll need a obd2 to obd1 dizzy adapter
Budget_Built_Performance awesome! I’m starting my blog’s, once my viewers blow up I would love to do a collaboration with you sir! ❤️
The Native Cen_Cal d15b7 to d16y8 is very easy youll need a z6 dizzy you can use injectors and alternator from the b7 on the y8 and everything else is plug and play if I remember correctly
