Completely agree to get kids who show an interest in cars early, started with HotWheels or models, etc. Considering this amazing collection, and that I am a true car nut, I found the silver set the most relatable. I will likely get my Father's shoe shine kit for the same reason, and will cherish it as if it's silver. My Dad introduced me to cars and a work ethic similarly. The 65 Mustang Fastback I purchased last year, was bought with anticipation of working on it and enjoying it with my Dad and I'm grateful to be able to still do this. Thank you Mr. McCall, and again thank you Petersen Automotive Museum!

Actually, having put the word out, like you've just done, you never know what might happen! Someone who knows the car's whereabouts, or where it was at some point which could provide a lead, may even read this thread and get in touch! How I know about your 510 (such a 😎 car!) is because of the excellent interview with Gordon on Keith and Mark's 'Buy Sell Hold' podcast 'The Essence Of Collecting.' (I thought perhaps you may have acquired another since the first one.) Lots of gems in that conversation; I think it's so true that when you work on a car, or wash it, or detail it, you learn so much about it! And I ❤ Daytonas too! Beautiful 280SL BTW! Im sorry but i love the cars i really do but....the owners of these collections are insufferable, omg, "polishing the silver set" tells us he comes from money which most these guys do. There's something about a privileged rich white guy shamelessly parading his wealth on the very same platform that features videos of the plight of starving children in 3rd world countries.
