      Yeah, I hate most true crime stuff, and heavily preffered Wavy's channel when he focused more on absurd internet oddities and not a morbid fascination with grizzly crimes that I often feel is unhealthy.
      However this video is the best of both worlds, a fascinating and unusual tale of how a joke site saved lives by preventing grizzly crimes.
      It has all the interesting and fascinating aspects of both without feeling like it's unhealthily overdisecting tragic grizzly stories like a lot of true crime does.

    I thought that the site was allowed to stay up cuz it was helping law enforcement catch would-be murderers. The fact that it was constructed in a way that made it obvious it was bogus, and people STILL fell for it... I actually can't think of a good way to describe that

    Friends daughter tried to hire a hitman on her 18th birthday for revenge on a BF being killed. She got 7 years. Around 5 years later, a guy caught for another crime confessed to killing her bf at random. The guy she tried to kill didnt like her bf but had nothing to do with his death. It was random by someone unknown to the victim. She tried to have an innocent person killed using Craigslist. The actual killer told the cops all the details to the previous unresolved murder, date, location. He wasnt even asked, just told them during questioning for his other crime.

      So did he tell them out of guilt, or was he bragging? I assume it's the former, because of how much detail he went into. Maybe he thought they already knew or something, or that they would find out eventually, so he just told on himself?
      Obviously, it's horrible that her BF was killed like that, but that's a prime example of why vigilante justice is something to be avoided if possible. All it takes is one crazy or reckless person to make a bad call or go overboard.

One weird $#&@ that I ran into one time told me that when he was in the war, he liked to hack off the arms legs and heads and sew them back on the corpse in the wrong places and let the enemy find them.       That's a real thing, but they do it through remote computer access programs. Unfortunately common in Old School Runescape, where there's a best in slot item which requires completing a 1+ hour gauntlet solo, requiring a ton of expensive supplies and gear, and where dying makes you restart the whole thing.

      There are fake websites like these called "honeypots" made by law enforcement agencies to catch criminals so the idea is not that far fetched, but they are generally only found on the dark web though.
