Badgers 🦡 are some of my favorite creatures, so I love when I find them in literature ☺️ but I don’t think I would have picked it up if you hadn’t given it your stamp of approval 🤗

@@novelideea yes - The Wee Free Men is the first Tiffany Aching book which is kind of linked to the witches sequence but is its own sequence. It’s also one of the ones marketed for children but I never hear of children reading it! 😂 I added The Mennyms and An Unnecessary Woman which I also remember Shelly talking about and was intrigued!
I hope you're feeling better! So many classics I haven't heard of, but I'm not surprised. As much as I've read, I know there's a lot out there I'm not familiar with. I was going to read The Mysteries of Udolpho for Jane Austen July last year and never got around to it. I need to see if my library has that one.
I'm feeling less muddled and achy today. Sinus stuff just hangs on forever it seems. I love the descriptiveness of Udolpho. It's a slow beginning with lots of pastoral detail and character building. I don't think it is the best book ever, but beautiful beginning and fun, page-turner ending! When you are wanting to read it, I may reread it with you, if you want.
What a fantastic selection as always. You are really on top of things already having plans for so many! The D Case sounds fantastic, that whole situation is so interesting. I meant to read French Dirt this summer, but I feel like the season has slipped away. Nurk is lovely, a kind of simplified hobbit sewage journey story. Wee Free Men is indeed part of discworld, but not a ton of crossover with the main city setting/characters
My bookstore loves when I come in with books for credit because of my eclectic taste. So much sounds interesting, I can't focus on just one genre or subject! I agree about the season having slipped away for French Dirt. I could do a buddy read in Spring if you'd like!
I am the same with Wendell Berry, I love his poetry and some nonfiction. I also kind of like Hannah Coulter, but prefer his poetry.❤ Kristin Lavransdatter is so good! I am almost done with it.

I read The Romance of the Forest a few years ago and enjoyed it. I want to read more by her. At least you can fit all your TBR on one shelf!
