Somebody in my estate used to keep chickens, and I would see them running around pecking the grass on the ground floor, but one day they disappeared all of a sudden.

Also had pet chickens when I was young but when they are grown I came back a day to 2 steamed chicken on my dinner table. Never had chicken as pets again.......

My pet Jungle Fowl (the types of chickens you see roaming around Red hill or Alexendar) is around a month old now, so much personality like a tiny puppy. My retired parents don't mind the cute distraction from everyday life they argue lesser since she is around.
I wish i could keep a pet chicken but I live in a HDB

By right no one should own cats. Yet so many cat owners. So don't let it stop you, get a hen so neighbors wont complain.

Their poos is very good as fertilizer for vegetables flower plants as well as manual great grass cutter. Put them in moveable fenced area and let them clean and fertilize that plot and move to next area each week will make your garden healthier.
I remember once someone called the police on the chicken saying it was noisy, and they literally took the chickens away and I have no idea what has become of them, Singapore’s local chicken is dwindling day after day, hope the gahmen will help converse our local chicken
This is sort of a call for help. We have a broody hen in our centre's animal sanctuary and because of the Phase 2 smm and what not we forgot to collect and eat the eggs. EDD of the chicks hatching will most likely be around 6 - 8 June. We have reached the maximum capacity for the number of 10 chickens per household/premise. Anyone who is keen to adopt, do let me know.

I live in a condo, and keep pet silkie chickens, but not polish chickens. We give them enough space to roam around and they are really docile and friendly. The only thing that isn’t friendly is their poop tho.
Have you considered diapers?

You can't keep one legally if you are a HDB dwellers. Condo wise, I think it depends on their by-laws.
So to keep pet chickens, you got to be living in a landed property. That means there aren't many potential pet chicken keepers in Singapore.
Or the most is.... you can keep them as chicks (baby chickens), once they're grown up and starts to crow, you have to let them roam around freely, just like stray cats and dogs.
I also wish to see stray chickens roaming in the neighbourhood.

Hi, yes I do get many nasty injuries and bruises worst than my Muay Thai sparring sessions from this aggressive boy.
Only this boy is aggressive, the rest are really manja (affectionate).
But I just want to highlight that cute little chicks can turn out to be violent and aggressive.
So never adopt or keep any pets out of impulse and not read or do any research. It can be dangerous if you have young kids at home too.
And we will not abandon this boy just because he is aggressive. We just respect his territory and watch his body language.
@@sgpolishchicken4925 do you have any tips on making a new alpha rooster less aggressive. The previous one who was a gentle giant passed on and this one tries to chase and intimidate everyone. He doesn't dare to hurt me and a few of the adults in the centre because we stand our ground but he chases the children and has scratched and hurt some of them before. For now we have separated the chickens and kept them cooped. Do we have to put him down?

you can keep them in cages, when you are free, bring them down to an open field to roam. bring them back at sunset.

A Mosque call Ahmad Ibrahim Sembawang Road have few chickens. They just roam around the mosque. Ghim Moh HDB also have some furry chickens. Not the normal ones.
Oh yes. I stay around there. And there is also a lot of stray dogs out there.

There are chickens free ranging in the park near my place. But i can't seem to find their nesting grounds for some free range eggs. I miss natural omelettes

How can I keep chicken in hdb flats?
According to HDB, poultry; including chickens, are not allowed to be kept in HDB flats. They are not suitable to be kept as indoor pets and, when allowed to roam indiscriminately, may inconvenience the neighbours.
Keeping chickens, ducks, or even peacocks as pets are perfectly legal in Singapore as long as you live in a private residential area. With that being said, you can only keep up to 10 chickens in a household and they have to be caged.

I love that she keeps chicken as pets....but saddened she stil eats chickens. All livestock are highly sentient animals. They feel fear, happiness and sadness. They should not be a food source anymore than our cats and dogs.
