I don't know if you have mentioned before on another video where you use that same primer, but does it spray that wide, or do you use a different tip? I've seen some guys use a graffiti tip to get the primer/ paint to spray that wide... man, every time I see your videos, you make it look so easy. I can't wait till I do my project car. I can't wait to see that purple on the truck
I think i mentioned this somewhere but idk lol the tips are on these turbo cans and they have a 10 inch wide pattern but they don’t fit on normal cans I don’t think. If they do fit I think I tried at one point but I think they didn’t spray good. They do sell aftermarket tips but I just use the standard tips on the cans. I have used the spray max 2K clear tips on cans before and they do work pretty good. I usually just use what it came with lol
Thank you & I will! Just gonna take some time but thats okay. Sharing the video helps me get there faster! Thank you for all your support!! God bless you!
Idk how long before I have the money to get all the purple tint and the raptor line cans. I need to drive the truck still. Can’t do that legally without headlights or tail lights lol
Looks amazing brother, I have been following you for a few years , and it’s incredible what you can do. I’m glad that you keep the faith along with the content, we are all blessed.
Wow it looks really good! I have been watching your videos since you first started years ago and the thing that shocks me the most is how fast kids grow up! LOL. I remember when your kids were so little. My grandson just turned 6! Crazy how time Flys. Godbless and can't wait to see the next things you do to the pickup. I always wanted one like that but a shortbed. They are expensive though because they are popular to make into the hot rods and low riders. Anyway truck looks great! I kinda like the steelie wheels too!
Thanks! Yeah I been at this since 2009 on TH-cam and they do grow fast for sure. Me I still look basically the same and I’ll be 34 this month 😂 the steel wheels look good but got some bent ones that came on the truck so gotta replace them unfortunately
Thanks for showing this, another great rattle can job that looks like a sprayer. I tried this rattle can thing once, the truck didn't come out so hot, but the floors and the walls from the over spray looked great.
Ha oh yea i know how bad the over spray is on this stuff another reason i did it outside lol 😂 but the truck dont fit in the garage good so i had no choice but to be outside lol
Thank you 🙏🏻 appreciate it! Your part of my success and I thank you for it and so does my family. This is the stuff that puts food on my table. I pray the Lord blesses you! 🙌🏻❤️✝️
nice , wish you would of shot the inner gaps and inside the bed but looks good , lol grab a can of 2k clear and dry flake gun .... or better yet gallon of intercoat clear is pretty cheap as a carrier for the flake and using a harborfreight spray gun with like a 2.5 needle will get the job done for less then 200 dollars , well maybe 300 including the 2k clear top coat,, harbor freight guns maybe cheap but they get the job done...
Yup and im going to be hitting touch up spots like inside where the wheel goes but using the smaller cans of primer because the turbo cans push too much air pressure for control lol. This whole job for just primer only cost me $30 since i get to return the defective can and the extra can. They actually told me I have to return all 6 and I said but I used them and they said since I bought it in a 6 pack they all have to be returned. So technically the entire primer job was free in the end lol

I’m curious because I’ve messed with Rusto a lot but never cleared over it and one thing that comes to mind is that I’ve never have issues with flat and satin orange peeling. Hello I want to paint my 03’ tiburon, your videos really inspired me to do but I have a question, what order of sandpaper am I supposed to sand before painting?
I went over some of that with my previous video. Depends what your doing. For me I do 80 grit then 120 then bed line it. If doing spray can it depends on clear damage or smoothen out stuff. Usually it’s 220-320-400 in that order but sometimes you can get away with just using 320 then 400 for a spray can job or a spray gun job. Different methods for different spraying. My methods aren’t the only ones though so definitely check out other videos on TH-cam as well but for me personally the methods I told you work great. Video link below for the video I did on sand paper th-cam.com/video/iNuMfQuCV14/w-d-xo.htmlsi=vcXPW80x4whY57un
Heck ya and I know with good 80 grit sandpaper it don’t take too much effort but yeah raptor is meant to stay usually so I could understand how it would be difficult to take down to the paint under or bare metal.
Would this be considered a sealer primer? Could you prime vehicle with rust oleum primer and leave it out in the elements until you’re ready to paint it?
I never had issues using this type of paint as a sealer primer. Idk if it’s considered that but I don’t have issues with it on my truck and it rains all the time here
If he doesn’t reply, yes the prep work & primer is the biggest part of a good rattle can paint job. I started following his technique about 3 years ago, with proper prep work you can get a dope paint job.
Yes primer is a good thing to have but i have been fine without it as well. I mostly use it if the panels are different colors and i want it all one color prior to painting. The primer in most situations is exactly what you would want under your color coat but if the factory paint is holding up good and you just do a normal scuff and wipe then paint it does hold up still but it will hold up a lot longer with a primer.
Yes im going to see how it does. I have done it before but not with this type of flake. If it don't turn out how i like then i will add a Matte clear over the entire truck after its raptor lined.
@@JamesDguy how do the flake show through last time you did it? I’m looking to spray my accord blood red and I’d like a little metallic in it even if the flake doesn’t show like crazy just something subtle would work for me bc none of the reds are metallic and finding a nice red is a pain bc most are 2-3 part colors and pearls and stuff
Do you sand the primer before painting, or is it unnecessary ? If you do, what grit would be good? Planning on painting 2 cars in the next couple of months, loving the info you’re giving !!
I do sand before i paint anything even if its something small and depends like i said in my how to sand/prep video prior to this one. If using raptor liner i would use some 180 on the primer and then paint it. If its spray can i would use 320-400 grit since you can see imperfections easier in spray can finishes. Raptor liner it don't matter the size of sand scratches because its gonna cover it up big time lol
So when painting a car that’s currently white and has a little rust in the paint what grit sandpaper should I use and how do I know if I should primer or hit it with paint?
I go off a lot of factors but basically if it’s not all the way through rust and just surface I usually just sand it with some 220-320 smooth it out then primer over it let primer dry and do a 400 wet sand to smooth everything out then your good to go for laying color down but different methods are used at different times and I kinda just go with what comes to me.
