    I still love my Enduro; it may be the best downhill oriented trail/enduro bike. The rear suspension doesn't hang up like my Santa Cruz suspension does on square hits; it really rolls and wants to ride fast.

      100% i had to remember to put a pedal in here and there to compensate for chain suck on my former bike. the Enduro just maintains and keeps its flow!!!

    Just got back from Mammoth, super tacky conditions despite all the snow damage and closures. I found even with the 29” wheels and long travel, it’ll pump for extra speed no problem. Works great everywhere I used to take my Wreckoning, just more attack-focused and less playful.
    I’d love to go coil but between the leverage ratio and my kitted up weight at ~240 lbs it seems like there aren’t many springs up to the task.

      Rock Shox or Fox rear coil? we could find a coil, would just take some digging.

    Hi Shane I was at Northstar in July for 5 days. Two runs down live wire on a friends Enduro and I was sold. My Enduro expert arrives this week. I must say the chop
    before some of the live wire jumps was next level. My bike comes with the Float X2, but I am thinking about getting the DHX2 coil. Is your coil shock
    custom tuned, or just off the shelf? Could you share your rebound and compression settings? One last question could you also share the rebound and compression settings
    on the fork ? Thanks for all the info in your video !

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hey Geoffrey, that's a loaded question!!! you'll notice the small bump goodness of the coil. off the shelf, it's that good. i have variable settings for Northstar, 38 with 75 lbs pressure and take a warm up lap in LSR 6 from fast / HSR 4 from fast / HSC 3 from slow / LSC 7 from slow. then either slow the rebound for Livewire or leave or slow the rebound for super chunky runs. every now and then i'll slow the compression if needed. on the DHX2 w/ 475# spring, it's the same - start from mid setting and 2 clicks faster rebound and 2 clicks slower compression. ride and feel

    I had 3 seasons on the enduro with onlins suspension - it was awesome. Owned the new mega tower, new nomad and norco range since then. Miss the enduro although the sizing wasn’t ideal for me and found myself needing something between a S3 and S4 at 6”2 height. The new mega tower is very similar to the enduro - I think Santa Cruz learnt a few lessons from Specialized on the development journey. The Norco range is definitely a faster more capable bike downhill but climbs like a slug with poor agility - its a boat. The nomad is a good compromise between all of them. One thing is for sure - I’m getting the new enduro when it finally lands, hopefully later this year. As for tires - the specialized Cannibals are a world class tyre for DH. Else its Magic Mary’s all the way…..

      @@ShaneScrimager that wasn't really a decision for me, at this price it was an opportunity. No way I'd stretch to £5-6k and not massively fussed about UHD. I've got a Kenevo SL which is basically the same frame. The rear end feels very dead to me, are you experiencing that? The KSL came with the X2 shock and I've got no spacers in it currently. Never have bottomed out so don't want to go higher in pressure, but would like to make it poppier. Any suggestions? Great review and couldn't agree more on the tires. Try the new Cannibals!!! Amazing

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  ปีที่แล้ว

      what’s up Miguel! you’re shock isn’t performing. mine came with the X2, it was great but nothing compared to a coil. you at 30% sag? it almost sounds like you need a couple click compression. high speed, that’s where you’ll feel it. what are your settings? you have an amazing shock, i think it’s not set right.

      I'm currently running 275 psi (220lbs) which is bang on according to the specialized suspension calculator for 30% sag. The HSR is 4 clicks in from fast, LSR 6 from fast and no compression on either LSC/HSC. Bike doesn't bottom out or necessarily feels plush, does plow, but maybe that's by design and made to feel like a race bike, IDK
      You definitely need to try the Cannibal tires from Specialized. Designed in collaboration with Bruni, they absolutely smash. Only available in the Grid Gravity so not sure if too heavy for you (1,330g ea approx.)
      Don't believe you mentioned it in the video, but have you played around with and settled on a particular headset and chainstay setting? I just swapped the chip on the chainstay to the high and do feel like the rear end got more nimble. Currently riding in the neutral setting on the headset.
      Great video and look forward to more content!

    Probably over a year on this thread but wanted to ask if an enduro would be good for overall trail riding, live in Michigan and there’s some enduro trails but not too close to the Detroit area. With the prices right now I was considering the enduro which probably is going to be updated soon but if I can ride it on regular trails I would definitely be interested.

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hello! if i had to choose between my Stumpjumper and Enduro, i'd choose the Enduro. but... that is type of riding i do, fast / big hits / reeeeeeally pushing myself on the bike. the Stumpy has it's limits but really can handle so much. i don't ride certain trails on the Enduro, just feels slow. but i have mine set up for downhill. if you were to buy an Enduro for your trails, i'd say get the Super Deluxe in the rear and not coil. it'll make the bike a bit more lively on the trails but still be able to press in to some chunkier / faster riding.

    having a hard time choosing between the stunt jumper evo and the enduro. I want a bike that can do it all bike parks ect so I will be defending more then going up the mountain but I want a bike that climbs well and I want to go either specialised stunt jumper evo or enduro any ideas or tips to choose?

    • @ShaneScrimager
      @ShaneScrimager  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      i’d choose the Enduro but that because i ride downhill courses and super chunk. the EVO could
      handle it but not as fast as the Enduro. your decision should be how gnarly terrain will you ride and how fast do you think you’ll want to ride it. both pedal well enough. the Enduro with a coil is heavy, air a bit lighter. i don’t see EVO’s on the runs we ride, only enduros of all sorts. an occasional EVO here and there.

      morning Jason! can’t beat the small bump compliance and braking feel of a coil!! Fox recommended a #400lb spring but the SLS run about 50lbs less. so a #400 regular spring is a #450lb SLS spring. i turn up the compression and rebound for flow trails, i think you’d love the #475. gives the bike a little more pop. i bet #450 would be right there. here’s the link to Fox’s spring calculator, let me know what you end up with. www.ridefox.com/fox_tech_center/owners_manuals/08/WCeng/Content/mtbspringratecalculator.html

      no update to geometry for 2023, components have seen a refresher. both the Elite and Comp now sport a Zeb and Super Deluxe coil. i think 2021 and 2022 the Stumpy got the update on alloy vs carbon offerings and the 2021 Stumpy took a huge geo update.
