  • After a rest day that included a tour at the Glengoyne Distillery, we left Strathblane’s Kirkhouse Inn for Kilsyth.
It was a cool morning at 12C when we departed at 9:10am.
Lots of great sights were in the offing today including stone arch bridges, creeks and canals, along with a great bridge opening to allow a canal boat to pass through!
We’ll spend the evening at the Boathouse Inn in Kilsyth.
Watch for our entire series on The John Muir Way!

The building at 9.49 is one of the stables that was built roughly every 7 miles along the Forth and Clyde canal in the 1750s to rest the horses that were used to pull the canal boats. The Stables Restaurant in Kirkintilloch which you may have passed but which is not shown in the film was also one, and you will pass another two in your next video.
