Travel has been a way of life for us for the last 20 years, and life in Renfrew County has introduced us to some amazing places to explore. Now we want to share our Travel Adventures with the rest of the world.
We are Cindy and Tim McKee, an average couple that just love being out and about in our Jeep Gladiator, checking out dirt roads, back roads, roads on maps, and roads that aren't.

Bangkok was once called the Venice of the East by many Westerners in the past. Unfortunately they filled most of canals up to make streets.

Nice to see a vlog ending in the street where i live and in my local ! Nice vlog 👍😁
That’s Awesome; we loved your little town! It certainly was a special adventure for us!
We loved Premium Economy on Lufthansa when we flew to Barcelona. We did business coming back with them, and for sure, a great experience. Interessting you flew East, I was trying to remember what we did and we flew West. I think we did Toronto to LA, then we did LA to Singapore, as we only did Thailand from the cruise ship.
East was the shorter distance and there was a significant price advantage for us!!
Cost?

I love how your pronunciation of Linlithgow got worse as the video went on! 😀 A hard one for our cousins across the pond. You were correct the second go, right at the start btw, not that it matters. One love from Glasgow. 💙 🦁

Well done. A beautiful walk I did a few times a million years ago. One love from Glasgow. 💙 🦁
Can I just say, from a local, well done on doing Glasgow right. You have to look up to see alot of the buildings beauty. It's wonderful to see the tourist future it has after a darker reputation. You would have noticed many references to the bird, the tree, the fish and the bell. This is from The city of Glasgow’s coat of arms features four iconic symbols: the bird that never flew, the tree that never grew, the bell that never rang, and the fish that never swam. These elements are deeply rooted in the city’s patron saint, Saint Mungo, and his life. He was the mural of the homeless guy with the birds, on the building. Haste ye back. If naw, lang may yer lum reek! (Come back soon. If not, long may your chimney have smoke coming from it, In old Scots.) One love from Glasgow. 💙 Oh, and aye, there is only Rangers for Glasgow is blue. 🦁😃👍
Thanks for all your comments Stew!! Glad you enjoyed our journey!
@dirtroadtraveller5553 Yeah, don't worry, I know I left loads...Just trying to add some comments for the algorithm gods! One love from Scotland. 💙 🦁
I'm confused by your use of the word pylon. Is that really what Canadians call a traffic cone? Here it means something completely different - and much bigger.
Yes, we call them pylons. It’s intriguing to see there be such a difference in the use of this and some other words!
Great vlog 👍
Thank you 😊
It's a cone on his heid 😂😂😂 My beautiful city of Glasgow. Been all round the world this is home.No rain .No Whisky. God bless Davie 🎉
In North America we called them Pylons; in the UK you call the Traffic Cones…..
Just watched this. Very enjoyable and I'm glad you found my city hospitable and beautiful. The pylon though???? It's a road cone 😂😂
Pylon is Canadian for ‘Road Cone’….. we saw a similar statue in Edinburgh; no road cone! 😉
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
Hello, Dirt Road Traveller. I, too, was able to visit the city, and I would come back in the future.
In our opinion, it is one of the best kept secrets in US Tourism!
Excellent video of my beautiful home city. Your narration skills made the video more enjoyable. As a local I used the Timberyard restaurant when it was a working timber yard, excellent place for hardwoods. So glad you enjoyed Edinburgh , Saor Alba Gu Brath.
Thank you for your kind words!! We look forward to spending more time in your amazing town the future!!
Even greater now that Michigan Central is back!!!
Maybe we are due to head back! That video was shot in July 2023…… we sure loved our visit!!
Thanks!
Its not timed entry like Pena right? Thanks
Yes, correct
Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this awesome collection of photos - you're both loving life on the trail, and it's inspiring to see!
We had the best time of our lives on TJMW!! And we are so very pleased that we entrusted UTracksTravel with making the arrangements!!! Thank you all!!
For real people who work and live in Glasgow, it's a shithole pretty much like the rest of Britain.
Have really enjoyed following you along the way👋👏👏
We are so happy to hear!! Thank you for letting us know!!
Edinburgh is my favourite place ❤ I love the pacing of the video, looks like you had a lovely time and Edinburgh looks beautiful as ever-- thanks for the trip and the reminder of how crowded it gets in August 😂
It is truly a beautiful and historic city….
Outstanding! This is, hands down, one of the best Videos of Edinburgh I have ever seen! You showed so many places here that I had never seen before in any other Videos! It was amazing! I just love Edinburgh so much! It is so rustic & charming! As well as being truly unique, fascinating, & intriguing! It has so much fascinating history & captivating ambience. Whether it is the Magnificent Castle, quaint buildings, unique Shops & Restaurants, interesting Museums, & so much more. Your Video perfectly showcased so much & more of these in this magical City! Your filming & footage was excellent! As well as, your Commentary was so interesting & very informative. Aye! lad & lassie! "An American in Edinburgh!" Who knew? LOL. Excellent job folks! Thank you for sharing this delightful experience in my favorite City....beautiful Edinburgh! Blessings to you both!
As a guy who is rarely speechless, I AM SPEECHLESS!! Thank you so much for this wonderful review of our video! We try to not be the typical review style video and are so happy you enjoyed our take on the most beautiful capital we’ve had the pleasure to visit!
@@dirtroadtraveller5553 Awww! Thank you for your kind response! That was really lovely! Especially coming from a fellow who is 'speechless.' LOL. Indeed! 'Twas truly my pleasure! Well, you certainly succeeded in "not being the typical review style video." By a Country Mile! I'm so looking forward to watching all of your other Videos. Now that I have been introduced to your wonderful Videos & Channel for the first time. Thanks again for sharing! Have a lovely evening! 🌠🙂
@@dirtroadtraveller5553What was the point in showing a urinal in a public toilet?
@@davidlauder-qi5zv we don’t have trough style in North America.
I love South Queensferry, I sometimes use it as as base rather than staying in Edinburgh itself when I want a break out that way. Last time I was there I walked over the Forth Road bridge to North Queensferry then got the train back to South Queensferry...then wondered why I was so tired. Turns out I did the whole walk with covid and didn't know!
The ‘main drag’ reminded me of Tenby Harbour! Sorry about the virus; hope your recovered well!!
Call me weird, but I love a museum visit! It's a shame you missed Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum in Glasgow, it's fantastic!
I always felt I was seeing the same artifacts; bones, mummies, coins, etc, instead of the unique qualities of the actual location. This trip gave me a new opinion; we'll add more museums to future travels where practical!!!
Huge omission in the video - can anybody guess what it is? 😮
Oh no; what did we miss???? We would happily travel back from Canada to fix this! 😉
Rangers are not the only team in town, and are not even the best lol!

It's pronounced Linlithgo. The W is not pronounced. Just as Glasgow is pronounced Glasgo. However, Loch Lomond is pronounced Loch Lowmend. Next week's lesson will be Milngavie and Culross.
Thanks…. Yes, there were some challenges with names….. in a few episodes you’ll see I learned the W in Berwick is silent!
@@dirtroadtraveller5553 Not to worry, I'm enjoying your trip across Scotland and look forward to the rest of the journey
The building at 9.49 is one of the stables that was built roughly every 7 miles along the Forth and Clyde canal in the 1750s to rest the horses that were used to pull the canal boats. The Stables Restaurant in Kirkintilloch which you may have passed but which is not shown in the film was also one, and you will pass another two in your next video.
Thank you for your comments! The added historical value is great!!
I live very near to this section of the canal. In the scrub to the left near the loch at 3.18 (Banknock) there are the ruins of the old Banknock distillery - a whisky distillery long gone. The ruin at 5.46 was formerly a restaurant but it was built at the time of the canal (1750s) as a resting point for the horses that pulled the canal boats and their occupants. These buildings are placed roughly every 7 miles along the canal. You might have seen another similar ruin just back from the canal about 0.5km from Auchenstarry (around 2.20 in the video). You also have two of these buildings in your previous video on the canal at 9.49 and the Stables Restaurant was also one. I'm not sure where you ended the walk but as you follow the Forth and Clyde canal to the Kelpies you would have past an industrial estate which, in 1750, was home to one of the largest iron foundries in the world - the Carron Iron Works, which made the famous carronade small gun which featured on ships during the Napoleonic wars. The iron works lasted until the 1980s and also made many of the famous iron red British post boxes. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Scotland.
These details are fantastic!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
I live in the area (I'm originally from Linlithgow and now live near Falkirk) and its very cool to see someone else's perspective on places that I'm so familiar with and see most days. really enjoyed the vid, hope you had a great time here.
