Nice interview Kyle. It's a real bummer the Countryman doesn't have the the barn doors. That was my favorite part of my wife's Countryman, that was such a fun car once I got rid of the run flat tires.
48A charging on a 65kWh battery is going to be fast. My 135kWh battery in my truck has 48A, it takes a bit to recharge, never stranded me, but I wish it had 80A charging for how big the battery is, but this will get like ~45mi of range per hour, which is really more than acceptable.
The Mini guy is completely wrong. Americans don’t buy cars for daily usage. They buy cars for that “ once a year trip”. What’s going to happen is they are going to alienate their existing user base, as Mini fans purchase the electric model, not knowing much about EVs, but trusting the Mini brand, only to have regrets after the sale. Stupid. The car needs more range and 4X faster charging.

@@AustinWirlI strongly disagree. I rented a model 3 to drive from Dallas to Austin and I made it fine with only charging when I stopped for other things. It took no more time or effort than it would have in my Prius
Kyle being nice. 130 sucks. Range of worse that a model 3 with about the same sized pack. What is the battery chemistry? Does it do preconditioning. Guess rich people can afford toys but the general public need an Equinox or.Model 3. Not fancy but a car that can take you places.
What is that? A Toyota CR-V, GMC Terrain or Kia Telluride from the front? What's with the round headlights' design? And why would they keep that round screen inside? It doesn't go with anything! Terrible design choices.

I have a Tesla model 3, 2023 model and it will be about $10,000 cheaper for me to go for the EX30. I bought a model 3 because that’s basically about the highest I could pay for a car reasonably and the Volvo is even cheaper, so why not?

The countryman never had barn doors. You're referring to the clubman which is ending production.

It was a real miss not to ask him the specs of the upcoming ICE models. Not everyone is ready to go EV yet.

Considering the Countryman SE will be $50K, that is a very pricey daily driver. The current Countryman SE hybrid is already $46K.
