    Colobus monkeys are beautiful but a bit naughty. I was glad to see these gorillas didn't allow them to intimidate them. This was a fascinating video ❤🦍❤

    That monkey who was mixing it up with Kioja was moving up and down like a boxer sizing up an opponent, but reality set in and the monkey decided to spare itself a beat down. Kioja sent a massage the monkey understood, "see your hair in my hand, next time it's gonna be some meat attached", message received loud and clear! No worries for baby, Mama got it covered. SV you should have screamed "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM" then handed out your business card to everyone to make room, uh you do have business cards, right! 😎 First introduction to these odd yet beautiful monkeys! Thx SV...

      Oh, trust me, I'm so shy that if I had business cards, they would probably be hiding from me too! 😂 I mean, imagine me trying to hand them out while mumbling, "Uh, um, do you know, um, who I am? Here's my, uh, business card, if, um, you're interested, that is." 🙈 And as for screaming, well, let's just say I'd probably scare away all the gorillas faster than a cheetah chasing after its prey! 🐆💨

    Little Kiango would get into a mix with his monkeys and the minute he got bopped in the face he would run like the wind to mom! I’m sure when Eyare is older she will show those monkeys a thing or two!😂

      I remember that, and all his mom would have to do was stand up, and the monkeys would back off! One day soon, both gorilla babies will be big enough to show their pesky monkeys who is boss!🥊 I look forward to that day!😁💗💪👶🦍

      @@annecarter5181 yes indeed! You’re right! I wonder what the dynamics are like? because although gorillas are docile, they can be faster than we realise , and their strength is superior to humans not alone that mischievous little monkey. The gorilla could quite easily kill him by accident. 😳.

    I’m surprised to see monkeys in the same enclosure as the gorillas. That’s unusual.

    • @SloggerVlogger
      @SloggerVlogger  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The first time I saw it was in Belgium and the Netherlands. They do mixed enclosures quite often. Keeps both species on their toes. Here in the video, the Calgary colobus monkeys only joined the gorillas for a few hours each day.

      To: @laureurban3942 - Ha, ha. As Slogger Vlogger has stated, it is not unusual for gorillas to share enclosures with other species. Kiango often interacts with the L'Hoest momkeys, Mojo and Moto at the Apenheul Zoo in The Netherlands, whilst Ringo does likewise, with Reeve's Muntjac (deer) at Taipei Zoo, Taiwan.

      There's a gorilla family at a zoo in the Netherlands that share their habitat with several black mangabeys, seemingly quite peacefully. Their two youngsters sometimes chase them but don't seem to ever harm them; and being faster and more agile than gorillas they can easily get away from them if they're too bothered; the adult gorillas just ignore them. I did a double take the first time I saw one, as at first glance I thought it was another baby gorilla, then I saw its long tail.😂 @@SloggerVlogger

    Maybe not put rival species in the same enclosure

    • @KathyPrendergast-cu5ci
      @KathyPrendergast-cu5ci ปีที่แล้ว

      They're not really "rivals"; gorillas in the wild share their environment with all kinds of monkeys. Being total herbivores they don't see them as prey like chimpanzees do so generally just ignore them, and the monkeys know not to push their luck too far with them as gorillas are a lot bigger. I think the main reason zoos do this is to give more animals more access to natural outdoor space. If two or more species can safely and (more or less) peaceably share the same space at the same time, there's no reason not to take advantage of that, esp. if they're two species that naturally co-exist in the wild. Eg. gibbons and orang-utans share outdoor habitats in a number of different zoos, and get along with each other fine.
