Being the chosen. I went into a local shelter and took a chair to watch the many cats and kittens at play. One cat jumped in my lap, and would not leave. Even when I stood up, she was firmly holding on. I took it as a sign and took her home. It was the right decision. She was the most adorable and affectionate cat ever.
that's adorable and may i ask how long you had her before the passed or is she still with you? if this is something you not wanna answer i'll understand
We had a beautiful calico kitten run into my parent's house when I was about 10. She followed all the other cats coming in for dinner. She joined the family on Christmas eve. We named her Noel.
When I went to my local shelter my cat picked me. While I was looking at one cat , a small Tuxedo cat reached out and started tapping on my leg he picked me and he was with us for 15 years.
Thank s to all the nice kind humans that accepted their kitty cat delivery. U will not regret it. I always loved and wanted kitties in my life. But i found that puppies come in much the same way, well sort of. I love All my fur babies. Thank s for sharing
I've been "chosen" many times over the past 42 year. It's the tiny ones who are unable to search for you, but they make their presence known. Like the kitten I rescued from underneath a car recently. She meowed the moment I entered the parking lot. Her name is Hope.
17 years ago, my last cat found me walking down the street... we spent 15 beautiful years together until he passed 2 years ago. I still miss him. Just waiting for my next distribution and to own my own home as renting you can't have pets and I hid my last pet for 15 years.
The cat currently snoozing on my bed after a tasty lunch should be over the road with her “owners”. I had no clue that that’s where she came from until they saw her on my porch one day after she’d been “missing presumed dead “ for about six months. I hope they’re ok with the arrangement coz Dorothy has chosen where to spend her senior years. She’s had her ear infection treated and her rotten teeth pulled, not exactly cheap, but I think she’s grateful. She’s a real sweetheart. 😊
I hope they understand. Our neighbors adopted a cat, but he wouldn't stay inside. He kept leaving through their doggy door. He kept coming to our house. Our cat was not happy with him being around so we made a little shelter for him in our carport. Then winter was nearing. The neighbors said he was welcome in their home, but he just wouldn't stay. I was worried about him spending the winter outside so we made the decision to at least let him in to warm up and sleep for a few hours in the morning and evening each day. We had to keep him closed up in one of the bedrooms so our cat wouldn't attack him. Now, here we are, a year later, and he's a full time resident, snoozing peacefully in a warm bed. Our first cat has begrudgingly accepted him.
Amen .This is what happened when my sweet little cats chose me ,and it was such a beautiful feeling .God bless you always ,for this sweet heartwarming video.🎉💞💐🌸🌷💕🌺💝💖🧬🌹💖💖💖💖🧬🌹😼😼😼😼😊
I found my kitten in an abandoned car. Waited to see if the mother would come, but she didn't. I named her Jemma, since she was found in a GMB. She is so sweet and she treats me like her mama ❤
Allergic to Cats But if a Cat Ever Chooses Me and its a Choice Between My Allergies and The Cat Pretty Sure The Cat Will Win...They are Simply Undeniable...is What it is
Stray cats have ALWAYS found my mom and I… only two were from a NO KILL shelter , two are the daughters of a pregnant stray (we still have mama too… “aggressively affectionate” might sound like an oxymoron, until you meet Smoky, then you’ll see why it isn’t in her case) and one was the last of his litter to be adopted, the rest were all strays who found us….
mine is currently sitting on the back of my chair. He chose us about 4 months ago when he ran to my husband as he was coming home from work. Hubby already knows the routine. we adopt cat, he runs to the store for kitty milk, I name cat before my kids see them so they don't end up being named by them and end up with a goofy name
When a cat chooses you, it’s a very special experience. They are such eccentric creatures that for one to look at you and say “this human is mine now” is a really heartwarming feeling. And they can be incredibly affectionate when they want to be. Easily equal to any dog or other pet when it comes to voluntary cuddling.
One day it was storming out really bad. Kept hearing something hitting my door. I cheaked. Aussie shepard. Ran inside scared shaking. Look him over. Had a collier no tag. Really nice dog. Feed him some hotdogs, couple dinner rolls and left over chick fried rice. Let him dry out and catch so Zs. The next morning. Had to force him out. Had to go to work. He belonged to somebody. Saw him a month later, he came over for pets. So I attached a note to his collier. Explaining what happened. Never found out who he belonged to.

I'm using my husband's phone but I love these videos ❤ I love that there are a lot of people like me that really love cats !!! I have a stray that my husband found abandoned at his job site and hes the love of our lives!!! Everyone watching, please adopt or take in a stray if you can, you won't be sorry. Just saying 😊
my last two cats were strays that showed up at my house as kittens. I also had a three legged stray that like to hang outside my front door, but had no desire to come in the house. Every furry family friend I have had has always been either a stray or rescue, never bought. Except the two rats I owned in my early 20s. I bought them from a friend who was going to feed them to his snake, but I liked them too much. :D
Being the chosen. I was 8 years old when one day I seen a cat outside hanging out in my yard. Friendly little thing. She came right up to me and started loving on me and everything. I asked my mom if I could feed her since she was really skinny and was probably hungry. My dad said that I do not let the cat into the house; it stays outside. Later on that night, it started to storm really bad. I was able to keep her in our mudroom/side porch so she would have a warm spot to stay at during the storm, but this storm was really bad. Wind was like 50 mph, along with the rain, this baby was getting soaked just by being in the mudroom. She was scared. She cried all night to be let in, and it wasn't until me and my mom pleaded with my dad to let her in because my heart was breaking from the cries, and he let us. I had her for about 4 years when all of a sudden she got really sick and passed away. She was my best friend at that time, and I will never forget the love we shared with each other. I love you so much, Luna. Rest in Peace.
In 2004, we were adopted by a white cat with a few random black/brown splodges of fur on her. I was going to put the rubbish out, but it was hammering down with rain so left the bag on the porch. When the rain stopped, I went to put the bag in the rubbish and as I tied up the top, I heard a plaintive meow. I thought that our black 4 month old kitten had gotten in the bag so started to look through it when I hear that meow again. From behind me. I turned and under my car, was this skinny, bedraggled kitten. After doing the rubbish, I came inside and shut the door. But as I sat down, I could see the cat flap and this little kitten was looking through it at me. I got a little bit of dry cat food and some water and put it outside for the kitten. After some 10 minutes, I could see this kitten looking at me thought the cat flap. I went to the door. Food gone but the kitten was still looking bedraggled. So I put a pillow inside by the front door where there was a radiator and a little more food and a little saucer of cat milk. She came in, ate the food drank the milk and curled up on the pillow in the warmth. And that was it. Tatty, as I named her, adopted us. Sadly, on 17th December 2019, we took her to the vet as she'd stopped eating. They scanned her and said that her liver was full of cancer and inoperable. They put her to sleep at 4:30. She'd have been 15 years old. That Christmas was crap! Most un-joyable christmas I can think of. We still miss her even today. 5 years later. And this video brings back some great memories of all our cats and also the sad ones. _C'est la vie....._
Letting the cat choose you leaves you with the right cat in your life even if they were very feral before. Former feral cats can be the best house cat and lap cat you could ever want.
My very first cat when I was 30, followed my daughter up the stairs. We named him General. It was an apartment, and pets weren't allowed. I went to the landlord and he agreed. Yep. The neighborhood stray kitten chose me!!! We fell in love!!! She used to sleep in my plant… We began to play and feed her! We took her in in the winter time! We have been in love every since!
I was chosen by a half stray & he saved my life because I was 2 days from ending it, my daughter came up with food that her cat wasn’t eating & she put some food on a plate & handed the plate to me & told me to sit it down & after the cat ate she put him in my lap & told me that he belonged to me since I fed him. Her dad was very mad but he quickly realized that I needed an animal or something. So Toby has belonged in our family for 2 yrs. & he’s an orange so he’s goofy but he always want to cuddle with me when he wants to sleep.
not always! sometimes if the kitten is there for hours, looks in bad health, or you look all around and no mother cat has appeared- the kitten has been abandoned. Not to mention times of finding kittens in the grass in severe storms or weather (snow, hurricane, flood)
When my husband and I moved to Elkton,Mi. After a week this yellow stray cat started hanging around our front porch. For a week I started leaving a saucer of water because it was so hot outside. This cat would sit on the railing and look in the door. Our older inside cat would look at me and meow to let me know he was there. My husband told me to feed this cat and after a couple of days this cat brought a female cat who was definitely pregnant and so we fed them both. And the yellow cat knocked on the door and I opened the door and he walked right in and jumped in my chair. He seemed to know it was my chair so he would move over so I can sit and he curled up on my lap for a nap. Thats how we got Snickers.
"It's hard to believe some people would abandon their cats." Some do so out of selfishness. Others do it because they no longer feel like they can provide an adequate standard of living for their pet. They abandon the pet in a public place where it is likely to be seen, in hopes that it will be adopted by a kind passersby. The latter group should not be shamed or judged. Those people are already in a horrid situation, and they're willfully giving up what may be their last remaining companion for the sake of *its* health, rather than prioritizing their own and trying to keep a pet they cannot adequately care for. That is a noble act, not a cruel or callous one.
I've been chosen 6 years ago my little Pumpkin was the one grabbing me when I went to the shelter to pick a kitten, but he picked me instead the little orange kitten who clawed my sleeve and never let go so we picked him lol he still with us healthy boy , not bright but we love him! Even our kids love him!
Being "chosen" at the shelter isn't that uncommon. Our rescues were the product of trying several dogs...all of which didn't show interest or weren't a good fit. The last two just came in and bonded immediately.
I came home one day and found an abandoned cat on the side of my building. It was -20 Celsius, Canadian winter. How someone could be so cruel is beyond me. It's the cat you see in the picture in my thumbnail but she passed away last year after being with me for 13 years. Over the years I've rescued about 8 abandoned cats in my neighborhood but one by one they all disappeared. I still keep cans of cat food just in case one comes by again.
Yeah. Our oldest cat, Silver got into a fight once and when dad came home from bowling, she meowed at him because she had been inside before. After that day, she has been an inside girl.

The kids call this phenomenon the Cat Distribution System. You don't choose a cat; cat chooses you.
