    Sammy, I don't know if you remember this or not but my Grandfather and Father had the glass store on 14th Avenue between 65 and 66 Street next to the bakery on the same block that Cangiano's was on. My Father made a glass table top for you and the job did not turn out right so my Father had said to you "I am sorry that the job did not come out right, I will make a new one for you, I just feel bad because I have to use the money from the first table top to buy more glass and I really needed the money." He was basically going to lose the money he made, albeit his fault. You heard what he said and you wound up telling him not to worry about it, to use the money from the first table top that was not done right to buy the glass for the new table top and charge you for the new table top so that he does not lose the money because he needs it. I never forget that. On behalf of my Father, thank you.

    Like many of us, I’ve been a religious follower of this podcast since day 1. I have never seen Sammy as emotional and anxious as he is here. This is a man who may be flawed like the rest of us, but he loves his family more than anything and he has the courage to put it all out there, good or bad. What a fuckin boss.

    • @miket9371
      @miket9371 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pity he couldn't put any value on other peoples families and children.
      A boss is a man who goes to work every day to provide for his loved ones.
      Flawed he may be, but not flawed like the rest of us I think not.

Ive always had a fasination & interest in the Mafia (watch alot of documenties on the subject) but this podcast was the best of its genre. Sammy you're an excellent story teller & have the ability to paint such a vivid picture of what your telling us. I could literally visualize every step of the Johnny Keys story & many of others.
    If we can feel the raw emotion of your stories as you tell em', you must feel it too bro. Selfishly I'm sure alot of us don't want you to take a break (for reasons I just mentioned) but take as long as you need bro, you're real fans will be here waiting!

    If Sopranos was real I can imagine Patsy having a podcast and and telling stories like this. He'd be talking about how much it hurt to lose his brother and be around Tony every day and how that played into his decision to go a long with Paulie and NY to take Tony out.

    • @flapjackson6077
      @flapjackson6077 ปีที่แล้ว

      That was always a subplot that should have been explored more. Patsy having to suck it up knowing Tony killed Philly was a huge opportunity to introduce an additional story line, but was inexplicably tamped down.
      Shit, that addition alone could’ve been a whole season unto itself.
      But Tony’s killer was someone hired by Eugene Pontecorvo’s wife. We see in the episode Members Only Eugene has inherited 2 million bucks. He wants to retire, Chris orders him to do a hit, which he carries out wearing a Members Only jacket. Tony refuses Eugene’s request, Eugene hangs himself, and his family is crushed.
      Eugene’s wife was left devastated by Eugene’s death, but she was enraged, and had 2 million dollars to exact vengeance.
      The scene was set up so that Tony looks up at the door as the guy wearing a Members Only jacket enters. Tony takes note of the guy, suggesting he might have remembered Eugene. The killer sits at the counter, and shortly after gets up and goes to the bathroom (ala The Godfather). Unseen to the viewer, the killer returns just as Meadow walks through the cafe door. Tony looks up again, perhaps catches a glimps of her.
      Cut to black.
      Ironically, Tony was gaining control in the family war, but he never considered that Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
