Abbas was definitely the most petty. Carrying a grudge like that for the entirety of his life and destroying everything that the Assassins stood for just because he was jealous of Altair. Ironically, he brought far more shame to his family than his father ever did. His father had to be tortured and was remorseful for his actions. Abbas did all this willingly and, in his final moments, still held his grudge and claimed he would find Altair when his time came. Abstergo would need to edit practically everything in Abbas' life to make him appear as a better role model than Altair, because Altair wasn't this bad even when he broke the rules at the start of Assassin's creed 1.
And then he get what he deserved by getting shot and fall down the stairs while Altair told him the truth about his father before he died that is savage

Another fun fact, although it’s been a while since I read the Secret Crusade: Abbas was the last person to canonically “cause damage” to Altair, at least that we know of. If I remember correctly, Abbas attacked Altair during combat training, and had his training extended another year.
He was choked out and thrown in his confrontation with Robert De Sable, the last time that I do remember him taking damage was before his return to Masyaf when he rescued the Merchant from the 3 thugs
Most successful mentors/Leaders of assassins: Altair Quite obvious as to why Most successful grandmaster: Reginald birch I'm sure you thought of Rodrigo Borgia or Starrick but they're more of a front line powerhouse meanwhile Birch was basically Illuminati or Rothschild level power . He had enough power to influence multiple Templar rites
AC fans I advise you to watch the Arabic series “Hashashin” released this year. It’s so good and shows the franchise fits well with middle eastern setting.
I don't see abbas as the most evil villan that would be cesere if anything I see abbas as more of a tragic villan blinded by his rage towards altair for lying (even tho it was the truth) and since there was only one who could confirm the truth and no more he couldn't find peace
Take everything from AC Rogue with a grain of salt. I hardly doubt that Abstergo are the only guys who can change memory simulations. And Shay’s backstory was too “perfect” to be used as an example of “how Assassins are monsters and Templars are sweet angels”. Also remember that his data file was corrupted and had a virus.
When I read the Secret Crusade Abbas Sofian was just angry beacuse Ahmed just Betrayed Umar and like WHY DO YOU HAVE TO BEAR THE GRUDGE FOR YOU FATHER YOU PETTY MAN! WHY! Ahmed slit his throat in front of Altair when He was just a kid and thats my Abbas blaims Altair for the death of his father!
He was paranoid and i kind of dont blame him. His soul was broken. I think that the most evil man is either Cleon or The monger from AC Odyssey. They had literally zero reasons to do what they did.
Hear me out. Not a lot of people will like what I have to say, but I will say it anyway. Abbas Sufyan was pathetic, hateful, and mediocre... His mediocrity is what makes everyone disdain him. He sucked as an Assassin, and as a mentor to the Brotherhood. He killed Sef (Altair's younger son) and then Maria (Altair's wife), but not for any motive other than him being plain delusional about the truth of his father's death and his jealousy towards Altair. Even in Altair's life, Abbas was a secondary antagonist whose only survival on each occasion depended on Altair's decision to spare his life over and over again, until he just decided he's had enough of him when he ruined the Brotherhood. That being said, I think the most evil man in all of Assassin's Creed is actually Haytham Kenway. How? Well, to put it simply, he is PURE EVIL. For those who don't know the backstory, the Templars basically end up killing Edward Kenway and taking Haytham in. Initially not knowing who killed his father, Haytham grows up as a Templar and moves up the ranks, UNTIL he realizes that the Templars killed his father, so what does he do ? He kills Reginald Birch (I think?!), the Templar behind Edward's murder. Now, you'd think Haytham would wake up and realize that the Templars lied to him and that his whole adoption of their belief system was based on a lie... But no: He actually continues being a Templar! Which means he killed the Templar grandmaster, not because he believes Edward's killing was wrong, rather just for the hell of it. In other words, it's okay to kill all Assassins, unless it's someone I care about... Which makes him a hypocrit. Then, as we see in AC Rogue, he kills a guy for no reason, that even Shay called him out on it, since Haytham had assured the guy that he wouldn't kill him if he cooperated. He then goes on to eradicate the Colonial Assassins and hurt the Brotherhood more than any other Templar grandmaster including Rodrigo Borgia. He then sleeps with a woman, gets her pregnant, leaves his son behind for years, trains Charles Lee to go on a maniac's campaign and torch villages (including the village where his child and the mother of his child lived in), and acts sad about it later on. Haytham Kenway also manages to manipulate (on 2 different occasions) both Shay Cormac and his own son Connor, to do his bidding and serve his purpose... Now to be fair, both Shay (who became a Templar) and Connor (who, for most of AC3, was only an Assassin by training, not by creed) share the same shitty mentor - the worst teacher of any kind in all of Assassin's Creed: Achilles Davenport... So I won't entirely blame Haytham for finding both of them easy prey. But, Haytham somehow gets away with all that crap is because of his posh accent and demeanor, along with his outfit and charm, as well as the player thinking for most of the prologue for AC3 that he was an Assassin, while in reality he was a Templar. The truth is, Haytham has no redeeming qualities to him. Screw Abbas, but Haytham is the absolute worst.
Abbas wasn't evil. He's more of a manchild; he refused to accept that his father took his own life. He blamed all his shortcomings on Altair. But what really made him the biggest scumbag is killing his wife and son. So, yeah, Abbas isn't a villain, he's a manchild scumbag.

nah, Altair almost died in his way to Masyaf in his 80s

Abbas was nothing more than a manchild. He’s AC Homelander without the powers, the Son and with a strong attachment to his father figure.
