Huge respect for the dancers doing this all in one take, in front of the whole world and doing it flawlessly.
Let's also give credit to the female dancers who did all that with their heels. Of course they did a lot of practice but still, seeing someone dancing in heels without making a single mistake is quite remarkable
Probably the most high energy performance the Oscars has ever seen, the music and dancing is infectious and the dancers did so good, I love their big smiles!
This isn't just a dance, it's Olympic level sports! Can't even imagine how fit you have to be to do that!

1:49 - I have to appreciate the female backup dancers here. The dance step is really hard and taxing as it is, they are doing it in literal stilettos and swinging their gowns in the process. RESPECT.

This whole sequence at the Oscars feels like a dream. Usually with something like this you can see when one or two dancers are off or whatnot, but no, everyone single one of them are _flawless_ during this performance. Everyone is all smiles, you can hear the crowd cheering and clapping; RRR deserved its Oscar win for Best Song.
There was a special pressure on the organizers to do it right, so they went and consulted Prem Rakshith and MM Keeravani and adapted the song and the scene's choreography for the stage. It would have been nice if the leads were actually of South Asian extraction. Reportedly, Jr NTR had scheduling issues that precluded the show from having him and Ram Charan onstage.
I imagine the audition process was pretty brutal.
This song combined with the dance choreo is so ridiculously hype. Absolutely epic performance

I had not heard this song prior to this performance and I can’t even understand one word. And yet this performance and song had me grinning ear to ear and in absolute awe of everything going on. That was absolutely awesome.

Though the dance steps are exhaustive, we Indians do not consider this song as one of the best. Its a good song.
If you are interested, watch Rajamouli's Baahubali movie songs. Its from the same music director, MM Keeravani. And if you want to watch, high energy songs like Naatu, Naatu, search for Allu Arjun or Jr NTR songs on youtube.
In cinema they do so much retakes editing but these guys did live performance hats off to these two guys

In a way, it's strangely like things have come full circle. Golden Age of Hollywood, it was Hollywood that would be pumping out huge, spectacular musicals with intricately and ambitiously choreographed music and dance numbers. Now others are carrying that torch, and it's finding it's way back to Western audiences.
There's just something wonderfully timeless about the language of song, and dance.
While true, remember that Disney songs win year after year aided by animated production numbers. So there's nothing really new about this.
Lets take a moment and appreciate the dancers on the stage. They were simply phenomenal
That was the best performance of an original song at the Oscars that I've seen in ages, and, I think that song is just set a precedent that no other song will be able to follow. And the performers brought an energy to the song that I could feel through the screen, and will be difficult for any other to match, at least for a long while. I've never seen a song more deserving of an Academy Award.
I'm from South Africa and this performance of Naatu Naatu will forever live rent free in my head as one of the best live Oscar stage performances 🙌🏽🌟! The dancers and the choreographer also deserved an Oscar if those categories existed 😩😭! Was very happy Naatu Naatu won Best Song, because I know it meant so much to Indians and South Asians as well ❤️

This full on reminded me of a Tony awards performance with the quality of the song, the dancing, and just the pure joy and energy on display. So happy this won best for best song.
It felt like the two dancers broke the fast steps into precise slow movements. Really outstanding that they did not just copy the original dance but made it their own in some sense🔥🔥
