I'm not Asian but I was blown away by how good this movie was. One of the best and most fun movies I've seen in my life. The picture and sound quality was unbelievable, too.
If this doesn't win an Oscar for best film, it would be an honest tragedy.

I recommend 3 idiots and bahubali if you want more of that experience. One of the best movies you'll ever see. There are many other gorgeous films based on epics like padmavat and bajirao mastani. All of these are Indian movies.

I love how humble he is when discussing the decisions of the movie, he drops so many names for the technical artists who motivated many of the great choices.
I had no idea that they filmed this sequence in Ukraine but there's something so poetic right now about the win belonging to them as much as it does to India. So happy that the song/dance has gotten the respect and attention it deserves

@@artificialintelligence9378 Not sure how Bollywood comes into the picture here. India's official submission was Chhello Show, a Gujarati movie, which isn't a Bollywood movie. It's a good movie, though, but it seems a bit similar to Cinema Paradiso.
India does not recognize over the top schlock as art.

The Director explaining the 'why' ( and 'how') of certain 'Formations' of the group performing certain steps - along with the colour, esthetics, etc. shows the Depth of His thought process in every frame of the song as well.

This is the first fully Indian film I've ever seen and... Wow! Hollywood has nothing on this film! The dances, over the top fights, chemistry between the characters, ect are just amazing and so fun
I still don't know how are foreigners obsessed with rrr like india has been making these type of films for like 50 years. We thought foreigners don't like these type of masala movies but they do. I guess they never watched these movies to begin with just judged it them with first look. Like judging a book by its cover. Glad people like masala movies just as much as indians.

Leave aside the filmmaking aspect. Just look at this man’s vision, courage and audacity. He dreams big, and boy does he achieve his dreams in style. LoL.... Delivering fantasy driven masala movies and calling it authentic cinema is utter foolishness - not of the director, but of the audiences. The director vision paid off when he delivered a chic of the bloc ordinary fantasizing tale and told that it's a film about India's freedom struggle, and audience believed him. Very proud what RRR has done to Indian cinema. Many ppl around the World and also Indians really lack an understanding of Indian storytelling structure and its diversity, so RRR is a very important moment for Indian cinema which concludes that Emotion has no barriers. One man made Indian cinema what it is today, with Baahubali series he broke regional barriers within India and started the Pan Indian cinema movement - With RRR he's taking that Indian cinema to the World. The Torch bearer and Pride of Indian cinema - SS Rajamouli sir. Thank you for always taking Indian cinema to new heights 🙌

That bright in his eyes, the way he moves and the way he speaks with such an enthusiasm, really shows how tremendously proud he is for the movie he's done.
This is a guy who knows what he's doing. And sorry if not everyone agrees, but RRR shoud have been nominated for best foreing movie, hands down people! We have enough dramas selected every year, it would 've been so much FUN if we had a movie as entertaining and refreshing as RRR for a change.
Hopefuly it'll become a clasic, and I 'm really looking forward to se what's next for this marvellous film maker in the future. 🧡🏍🐎

But see the almighty of God and Fate, now he is getting that everywhere in the world wherever he attends RRR's screenings! Imagine getting the thing you love the most and that too more than you want. I never watch the Oscars, but this dance made it onto my feed and I'm so glad! The lifelong theatre kid in me was absolutely thrilled watching this. Also I like how the director pronounces the name "Arrarrar". 😁

This dance number felt like when I saw E.T. Fly over the moon, the T1000 morph in T2, or Trinity fight in bullet time in The Matrix. Just jaw dropping and awesome. Instantly iconic. Needs to win an Oscar. I feel like watching it again right now.

Actually it wasn't hate or ego. The indian Oscars nomination committee is just dumb. Idk why but they are scared of showing indian movies as anti British. Before RRR it was Sardar Udham which is another beautiful indian film based on true story. People were mad about why Sardar udham was not indias submission for Oscars. The reason they gave was that the movie incites and potrays hatred against English people even though it was based on a true story. Hence same reason for RRR. Sad.
Talking about this movie particularly, it doesn't deserve any critical acclaim, leave alone Oscars and stuffs. This movie is utterly grandiose in fantasy. Not a single piece can be traced back to authenticity. Even the colonial sets used were not authentic. It's Kiev. That's another part of Europe. The characters didn't leave Indian shores in the film. I went to see the movie on the strength of this scene. There were lots of highlights in the film, but this was the highest of all 🙌🏾🙌🏿🙌🏽
The video is delightful to understand the art and science of film-making - and how much goes into just one song in a movie. What I particularly liked was how Rajamouli not only credited his technical team - but also clarified how difficult and important each of their roles are - and how even he has to concede to them as a director. I think that is the mark of a good director - who works with the best team - and also allows them freedom to do what they do best. Globally, people often reduce Indian cinema to "dancing around the trees" - it is almost ironical that it is through a video on a song that the world gets a peek into the genius of Indian film-makers and artists. (P.S Didn't know the song was shot in Ukraine - loved the collaboration and how Rajamouli harnessed and appreciated the talent of the Ukrainian artists.)
This better win best song, if only so that popstars don't start thinking they can just collect an Oscar by dabbling in films with mediocre songs.
