My wife and I just found your page an hour or 2 ago and have been watching your channel since then. She just asked if you had a “best dumpling” video and sure enough AS WE ARE WATCHING YOUR CHANNEL you upload the exact video. Thank you for all the amazing videos!!
😂 that’s amazing! I’ve been wanting to make this one for a while! It took a few years for us to have enough good places! 🥟 Thank you both for watching!
There's a new dim sum restaurant open in Broomfield called Hong Guan. It's at 120th & Main in the same building as the former dim sum restaurant whose name I can't remember at the moment. But it's a step up from the former restaurant, I liked it a lot. Definitely a great option for cart dim sum if you're up north.
Yuan Wonton’s brick and mortar space is really nice. We go there just about twice a month via reservations on Fridays. Their OG wonton is my fav and their garlic noodles are the best. Plus the chef gets pretty creative with new featured items regularly. Though it’s not a cheap place and we consider it our splurge meal, service is always fantastic.
Thanks so much for sharing! I need to get there soon. I loved the food truck. The shared space/hours thing used to not line up with my work schedule, but it’s time!
Dillons dumplings opened recently on Tower & Hampden, finally good stuff further east, I recommend. The soup dumplings arent as "soupy" as other places but they are still good.
We went to Dillon's Dumpling House last night thanks to your video and they were very tasty! Close to us, no wait, great service, and yummy dumplings. We found some other things on the menu to check out another time. Just what we were looking for. Thanks!
Have you tried Dillon’s Dumpling House off East Hampden? I felt it’s on Nana’s and Linglong’s level or better, and a decent size menu beyond dim sum type offerings!
I mention it at the end of the video! 😀 it opened the same week I put this video out, so I didn’t have a chance to go before I filmed it. I’m glad it’s good!
Have you been to Honey Pig Cafe in Lone Tree? They are temporarily closed for a remodel but I love their dumplings and orange chicken. Since there’s not too many options south I thought I would mention it.
I have! I was on the edge of putting them in this video and am working on a new video for the south suburbs, but then saw they were closed and didn’t know if they were reopening! Thanks for the info! I hope they’ll reopen soon!
Ahahaha! When you were saying to make a reservation at nana’s I was thinking to myself yeah so we don’t end up walking around for an hour or two like we did at the juicy seafood…same guy!
New subscriber here- really enjoying your channel & look forward to trying some of these places! If there are any really good Middle Eastern/Turkish/Greek places besides Safta (it’s wonderful) would love a round up of those - thanks!
Thank you! You read my mind 😀 I actually have a short for Safta I’m working on, but I’m sorting through a bunch of those for a future video to see if I can try to rank them. For quick serve, I like FelFel (I used to work in DTC, so a little biased because it was close to me), and I like Tuti Grill too!
Hey Dave love your videos! Just moved to Denver and was initially disappointed by the food, but I realized there's good stuff, you just have to know where to look. You do a great job highlighting all these local businesses which I think is great.
Thanks so much, AW! I really appreciate it! It has gotten so much better in the past 5 years, and you’re totally right. Once you know where to look (not always easy!), it’s become a pretty solid food city 🙂
Dave - longtime listener first time caller. Love the dumpling content. I’m on a desperate hunt for cha siu bao. Any of the above have the magic, or recs otherwise? Much love!
Appreciate it, Smooth! They’ve got them at Nana’s (more $ than they should be), Star Kitchen, and I’m pretty sure they have them at Empress too (not in the video). I think they have them at Bryan’s too, but you might as well eat at a better spot while getting those 😀
Great video! Our family has been watching your videos and really appreciate your honest take on things. Have you tried Yummy Hot Pot & Dumplings in Federal Heights yet? It has some szechuan dishes and Dumplings in chili oil that are delicious.
I have! I’m a big fan. It was tricky trying to separate dumplings from hot pot/general Asian restaurants (like I love the fried dumplings at MAKfam), but I’m hoping to give Yummy a shout in a future video!
Been to Dillion’s x3, as it’s in our neighborhood. We’ve enjoyed it every time. We’ve have a majority of their dumplings and tried their entree items as well. It’s a little family owned business. They’re all very hospitable and kind.
I wish I could! I'm not down in the Springs enough to call myself an expert (I go to a TON of places in Denver because I'm here), but if I go full-time sometime down the road, I'll spend more time in the Springs! 😀
Thank you! That’s exciting! It’s only a matter of time until you guys get some more options. The suburb restaurant expansion has been speeding up the past few years!
Chinese Palace in Northglenn (very creative name, I know) just opened last month and we tried it for the first time yesterday. The flavors are more northern Chinese/Beijing but was very good. My favorite in the metro area has been Mason Dumpling House.
Thanks for watching and for the tip! I’m always happy when people add restaurant suggestions to the comments! My dream job would be to rename Asian restaurants that have generic names and rewrite the menus to sound more appetizing 😀
I live right by Dillon’s and I’ve ate here a few times, but I don’t have anything to compare them to as I’ve never had dumplings previously to eating here. I tried their all in one meal that included one of every dumpling and I thought they were all good. We also tried some non dumpling menu items that weren’t special
@davechung hey, by the way, have you ever considered doing a collab with @miehifooddude? you guys could easily spend an hour just chatting about denver food, and your vibes would seem to be a great mix!
@@ElPedicabAvenger haha we’ve talked about doing something in the comments! 😀 One day, I’d absolutely love to. Appreciate you looking out, and thanks so much for the suggestion! Hope we run into each other again 🙌

Not really a dumpling place but I do like the xiao long bao and pan fried dumplings at Dating Yumy/Yummy in Aurora. No frills, inexpensive, uncrowded place to get some decent chinese food.
I really like Dating Yumy/Yummy! 😀 it's one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the area! I thought about including it here, but I thought people might consider it more of a general Chinese food spot.
finding good asian food has been such a struggle (although much better in the last few years). have you found a place that does good cheung fun (rice noodle dim sum dish)? the only place i've found is star kitchen and they usually only have shrimp which im allergic to.
Mason’s is still our favorite xlb place but you’re totally right. The service is really hit or miss. Boulder location is definitely a pass. Nana’s is our other favorite but just pricey and not quite Ding Tai Fung. Dumpling kitchen has very similar vibes to linglon and decent xlb. It’s worth a visit if you’re in the area but I’m not a fan of their chili wonton. I live closest Bryan’s dumplings but won’t go there because they charge extra for rice with their mapo tofu dish. Sorry, that’s like charging for spaghetti when you get meat sauce.
Appreciate your take! Bryan’s is definitely on the lower tier, and I’m happy you’ve also had good experiences at Nana’s! The rice charge comment is amazing 😂 thanks for watching!
Thanks for the review! I just tried Nana’s today. While the green beans were spectacular and the ambiance is “dive bar cool”, the dumplings, especially the chicken and corn dumplings (which we hadn’t even ordered but we didn’t feel like waiting another 25 minutes for them to get the order right) were nearly inedible. I still have the aftertaste of cigarettes and dishwater in my mouth. Also, $100 (including tip) for 2 people to eat a light lunch and no booze. Oof… Hopefully King’s is better!
It seems like Nana’s is being hit or miss lately! I’ve had really good experiences in Aurora, but that’s a bummer that yours wasn’t good! On a better day (if you’re open to going back), those dumplings can be really good!
@@davechung i hear ya. But it is extra tough to justify the hefty bill on top of everything else. I used to live on steamed dumplings back in the day cuz they were cheap.
