    My conclusion was the same. I wanted a good PA to go with my Kawai MP11. Tried the Bose L1 Compact, which was impressive, but when I tried the JBL Eon One, I had to have it. It doesn't need to be any louder than a real grand piano would be. The JBL is plenty loud enough.

      Ah, during manufacturing in the past year they must have corrected the issue with the poor mic preamps. Using a mixer, you can send people flying with the volume! :) I turned down the Bose L1 Compact; just was not up to Bose standards esp. the bass and the full range of frequencies....

    yeah but the bose will send more sound around the entire room because the tower speakers point in all different directions, the jbl speakers just point straight forward that's probably why you feel the need for 2 jbl.

    I have the Bose L1 but I also have the RD-2000 and the combination is the absolute very best quality of sound I have ever experience. I regularly play to audiences of 1000 or so and the L1 is easily adequate for such venues. It’s an amazing bit of kit, I’d highly recommend them both !

    Nice video demo:) Even over my computer speaker, I could tell the difference in the bass response in the JBL over the Bose. The Bose woofer sounded a bit "tinnier" and the high notes sounded much more realistic on the JBL, too. Just one question. When you max these speakers out, do they distort much?? Thanks.

  • @memphramagog
    @memphramagog 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Are you playing a stereo piano patch monophonically? Most of the piano sounds on your keyboard are sampled in stereo. If you play only the Left(mono) output of a stereo patch you won't get the full left/right spatial effects. Perhaps you are using a mono piano patch. You play well and it sounds good but just thought I'd raise the question.

    I think you may have been using a Bose system that wasn't suited for your application. The Bose Model L1 seems more aligned to your needs. The Bose Compact is designed for up to 100 listeners. The Bose Model L1 is suited for an audience of up to 300 (as you said you play in front of 100-200). Great video though! Im just a Bose enthusiast!

      I think the JBL eon one is meant to be competing against the Bose L1 compact, which is why he might be comparing those two, however I own two eon ones and a friend of mine has two L1S, and those cover nearly the same area with a very similar SPL, but the bose's dispersion is much better, only difference on SPL between those two is how they spread them, while the JBLs are more front shooting the sound, the boses spread the sound around

  • @OnlineMD
    @OnlineMD 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree. I love my JBL Eon One which I use in a large living area for karaoke singing and just playback of *all* kinds of music. The sonic accuracy of the JBL is superb. Mind you, I find that I need my Mackie mixer with some reverb to have great vocals. The main issue of the Eon One has been, since its release, poor volume from the mic pre-amps. They corrected this issue with the new Eon One Pro, adding a battery and charging $500 more!

      The input that says 3/4 has two inputs, 1/4" pair and also RCA red-white. I use twin 1/4" cables from my mixer into the Eon One. I get great results with that....

      @@AngeloProMusician Thank you. This is my second DP. The first one was a Roland F-20 and, although it's less realistic, I noticed the sound through the internal speakers was better with the Roland (much better with the Kawai through headphones though). Since my first comment I sold my bose and bought a JBL EON ONE PRO and I feel It sounds better. The Bose would distort at medium to high volume. I get pure clean sound from my JBL. I will be looking for a used second JBL pro so I can have my stereo sound. And I should still come ahead financially! JBL EON PRO is a lot more compact, lighter and easier to use than the Bose. Angelo Tsocos, Thanks for the good comparison. Sorry if my quest is too basic, I'm not tech savy. Found today that my local store has a used JBL Eon One for sale. I am considering it as a practice /occasional gig speaker to be used with Line 6 Helix for my elec guitar. So it'll be used majorly to play electric and acoustic guitars. The sound effects will be done on Helix of course and if I get Eon One, it will be for practice/playing of guitars. Since I got my Helix last year I have not had a speaker for it. So instead of getting a guitar amp why not get Eon One. By the way, this set up will remain in my sound studio 12 ft X 15 Ft 95% of the time. Do tell me if I'm thinking on a wrong approach. Others feel free to comment/suggest better options too. Appreciated.

    I knew the great BOSE era, the 802, the made in the USA, really fabulous and legendary. Here it breathes, it stinks of made in china. Research done, BOSE does not have a factory in China, it is all under contract and much too expensive compared to the cost of labor. In addition sound side ... it is not JBL (the brand of musicians for more than 50 years) brand at the origin of this bass cabinet + column configuration, a concept copied by everyone lacking creativity. The JBL EON is the benchmark. All the components of very high quality are manufactured by JBL including exceptional speakers which allow a perfect power handling during very long hours. Parameters very often forgotten in the test.
