- Want your photos to have cinematic color grading in Lightroom?
www.photograde.app/
There are certain artists, certain photographers that have such a way of making their images look like a still from a movie.
Adobe Lightroom over the years as taken certain tools and cues from the film world to make editing color more intuitive and enjoyable.
This is both exciting and daunting.
However I have learned over the years the same principles apply and can be translated from video to stills and vice versa.
So if you’re looking for a complete guide that delves into the process and the interworking to make images unforgettable you’re in the right place!
I’ve even made these looks from the tutorial available as Lightroom Presets which you can get here:
cgcpublic.s3.us-west-2.amazon...
I also demonstrate how color grading photos is easier with more of the tools from the video world as well as how LUTs can be applied in Lightroom without any kind of workarounds.
If you’re interested you can try out Photo Grade that works as a plugin as well as a standalone app for 30 days risk free.
For a limited time, we are offering 20% off of Photo Grade with code:

You can keep watching TH-cam tutorials or get the cinematic look the easy way with this plugin.

I haven't seen a more detailed and well-explained video on color editing so far. A massive thank you for all the knowledge shared! This deserves so much more views! ❤
One of the best, simplest videos I've watched about color grading. Thanks for simplifying some of this all down. Much appreciated, brother!
Thank you for this awesome tutorial! You were super detailed while keeping it beginner friendly without trying to oversell your own products, one of the best lightroom tutorials I have seen!
You earned my subscription almost after 1 min of watching this video and I am not joking! This is so far the best video explanation in detail I have ever seen on the youtube and I have watched many of them. Love the way of the masking/selecting thing when explaining them in details it allows one to remember and understand it all much easier then when only speaking. Very well done really! keep this good work and thank you for sharing it with us!
One of the best Lightroom videos I've seen. Really appreciated the straightforward explanation of the color wheels and tone curve. Two thumbs up!
Thank you for this no nonsense video explaining how to actually do color grading! Nothing more nothing less, just what is needed to understand this beautiful concept.
Fan flipping tastic. This was such a refresher, being able to understand what each and individual part of the tonal curves alongside the HSL sliders affect is amazing. Many people don't often go into that detail. I love knowing the why and what of how something works. Thank you so much!
You blew my up man! After hundreds of tutorials out there, this is the most engaging and straightforward video covering every single detail in Lightroom tools palette. You earned my subscription! Thumbs up!
Thank you so much for that @Gusseq81, that really means a lot to earn your subscription🙏🏼
Denver, you are truly amazing man. I have to agree with Gusseq81, after so many tutorials out there, your are really special. You have a gift.

Wonderful refresher course on basic color correction and grading in LR. I am looking forward to watching more videos about Photograde to make the whole process faster and easier. Dang, it would help to quickly correct skin is shots taken in a big room with beige walls that give me fits.

Great video! I learned so much and it was so easy to implement!
wow, thank you for this amazing guidance
Great video, thanks!! Just one question: Can I use inside the app (Looks Section) my current library of LRC presets or PS actions? Thanks again.
Bro is so wholesome and insightful
This was excellent! Thank you for putting this together. Also, I purchased your Photo Grade app!
Great video. Thank you!!!
very detailed. thank you
Thankyou bro
Super helpful for a new Lightroom user and someone new to editing. Something I'm still having a hard time understanding though, is when to use the RGB curves and when to use the colour grading wheels? Also, why use the shadows/highlights/blacks/whites sliders AND the tone curve? Doesn't the tone curve achieve the same result just with greater precision? Thanks!
Excellent video. Well well done.
Is that Ryan from Signature Edits? Great tutorial by the way. It inspired a deep dive into color grading. I've learned a lot bc of this video!
I didn't know you but i recognised that premier pro tutorial you made
Thank you so much
Very good LR tutorial!!
very helpful video, thanks
Thank you bro Please make video haw to make color grading in alight motion ❤❤
Hi Denver,
For me, it is the best, yet simple refresher course on color grading. How good teacher you are my friend … congrats;
One question though.
If I understood well what you taught us, it is the same philosophy of color grading for video as well eventhough there is the moving part of videos of course ?
Yes precisely! Thank you kindly for the complement and I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial.
@@colorgradingcentral you deserve it my friend … you really deserve it !
Thank you.
Thnx
brilliant
Wow.
Thank you
Many thanks
thank you siiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrr
Learned a lot! Even on pieces of lightroom I thought I was solid on.
I’m so glad to hear that. Thank you for your comment.
Great video!
Just a pity that lightroom lacks masking for its color grading circles as DaVinci - so a lot of unnecessary actions needed to save skin tones((
Thanks. However, I've watched at least a dozen videos on color grading and it seems like everyone is doing the exact same thing to any photo with a person in it. Every single video adds yellow/orange to the hughlights and midtones and blue/teal to the shadows. Is this just standard practice? Is there ever a time to use any other colors in a portrait situation?
nice video. thank you
Vídeo incrível
Thanks
Very informative and great video. You surely are a great teacher! As a long-time Lightroom user, there's nothing too new in this video for me, but it's still an incredibly good tutorial 😊 I also make a series where I show my full workflow for photo edits that can teach you similar things as this video, even though not going in to such detail with the technical things: th-cam.com/play/PLL0gaWI51Qmk0GsG7qkckff0WJ87PRc3f.html
I wish lightroom edits were available in Premiere 😢
Check out Cinema Grade it has a similar interface to Lightroom but works as a plugin inside Premiere .
Posted 56 sec ago. This was meant for me.
Yes indeed
and that's how you make a stock photo, ladies and gentlemen
What is the difference between using the rgb curves and the color wheels for color grading?
Curve give infinitely more control whereas color wheels only work from 3 points in the tone range.
The lack of proper scopes is still a mystery in photo editing software.
Amen
we didin had proper masking 6 months ago
hang on isnt the point of the video to learn how to colour grade? Just download the presets he says haha. Great vid, but...well. Odd way to start an educational video.
Though I personally believe I’ve never seen a more enlightening explanation and step by step process like this video 😂
What is the pass of the Zip?
There shouldn't be a password, just unzip and go!
oh thanks and love from PAKISTAN@@colorgradingcentral
why is my lightroom different than yours? your one says lightroom classic and mine does not therefore I do not have those options such as develop and so on
You might be on the new Lightroom and not the 'Classic' version.
Great tutorial but the first 2 look like IG filters applied on a jpg, last one is cool
Amazing! Minimal!
It's same as Lightroom mobile?
Why does everyone use classic? Serious question from an inquiring mind…
How these “in-depth” guided always just covering the very basics and surface-level information…
This video shows the tools available to color grade, but it’s not teaching how to color grade. How does one learn how to color grade and not the tools for it? I’m looking for the why’s and what’s rather than how’s.
You can watch videos on color theory to get a better understanding of how different contrasts, colors and color harmonies impact our psychology. We cover this in our color grading academy for Photo Grade.
this video is a course

The ghetto music ruined the intro.
Thank you for this no nonsense video explaining how to actually do color grading! Nothing more nothing less, just what is needed to understand this beautiful concept.
