Almost everyone I know dislikes it, despite a few people and I love itThey never gave it a chance either... it's so super good and they hate it cause it's long only... no one cares that Bleach and Naruto even Detective Conan are lengthy, (300-over 700 eps).So hopefully if they give it awards, people would start watching it and see a great show rather than a 'too long' show

One Piece is truly a great piece of art that showcases all of humanity's emotions in thier most polished states. In this anime egos clash, visions become disillusioned, tears are shed over fallen loved ones, rebirth is constant and history looms over all these traits and yet even it is distorted or erased all together only to be recovered in long forgotten pockets within the world. Oda truly is a master of emotion, history, and adventure and for that I'm truly grateful.

These are real characters with real goals and ambitions. Though, if it does end i hope the ending is not what i expect. Cause that would sorta suck.

H4t3r Well, then read the manga. Mingos speech about the Throne Wars, all this alliances and betrayes,the SPOILER wedding of sanji and pudding which is a trap from Big Mom to kill all the Vinsmokes. Oda said in interviews that he is a huge GoT-fan and since the New Wold all the pirates a fighting to become king. Before time-skip not everyone wanted to become king. In Wano we see a huge wall in a winger landscape. Looks familiar, doesn't it?

I can't believe that there was a time in my life that I thought naruto was the best anime there ever was , I'm so ashamed of myself , I used to argue with my friends saying naruto is way better than one piece and that this Luffy character sucked. But hey naruto was the first anime I ever seen but then during my school holiday as I caught up to the latest episode of naruto I thought I'd give it a try and started from episode 1. 2 weeks later after spending almost everyday of my holiday ( honestly id stay up till 4-5 in the morning then wake up 3pm and start the cycle all over) I'd have caught up to the latest episode and from that point on I was literally all about one piece , and naruto started to become shit because of the amount of fillers they show. But yeah this was 2 years ago and ever since then I probably watched one piece episode 1 to the latest at least 4-5 times lol even to this point now I'm re watching it I'm currently on the episode where Luffy enters loguetown :) 3D2Y
+Monkey D. Luffy: Well, Naruto at a certain point WAS better than One Piece. One Piece had very looooong and boring arcs (the Alabasta arc has a WAY TOO LONG and boring introduction, and the Sabaody's arc as well was plagued by a very very long set up), therefore it struggled in depeloving the story while Naruto was fresh, tightly written and exciting (i'm strictly talking about manga, so don't take fillers into account), until Naruto's timeskip. Then Naruto went downhill pretty fast, especially after Jiraiya's death, and was dragonball-ized, throwing away everything good it had done. One Piece, instead, stayed pretty good or became even better.
+Shendue I'd have to disagree... I think after the time skip Naruto went uphill. the whole Sasuke thing. and the hunting of the Tailed beasts (I'm not going to even try to spell it). Then the bomb drops with the war where shit gets fucky.
I just started watching One Piece... and it's fucking awesome so far! The story and the soundtrack is pretty damn cool! I'm interested in seeing how the story progresses.

Definitely ,i'm agree with you , we learn so much of characters in One piece , through many main questions of the human being , example : The freedom , what's realy "the justice" , racism etc and more ! In brief One Piece its a true life lesson !!
3 reasons why One Piece is my favorite anime. #1 The anime's comedy is enough to make any bad or negative feelings/days turn happy. #2 The fight scenes end up being epic enough to make any action fan sit and watch them to the end. #3 There's enough music and sad scenes in this series to give this anime a serious feeling and (admittedly) tears shed when watching/reading.

It makes sense; I miss the feeling from the Alabasta arc too:( but i mean there's so much yet to be revealed about the World post-timeskip:Who all of the Shichibukai are, who the 4 yonkou are and how powerful the Admirals are, and due to the whole thing that happened in 731, it seems as though the Rebels, led by Dragon, are coming into the picture soon. With that, i'd imagine that Luffy is gonna have to fight Dragon, just because the epic level is too much. This could easily come about by Dragon planning to attack a conference of world leaders (as they Have been doing more attacks recently) and Vivi might be headed to one. That'd be a nice thing to see:)

So at the end he advices the reader that if he ever finds that Ithaca was poor, he shouldnt be dissapointed, cause all that matters was the journey that got them there..." Ithaca cannot give you riches, but she gave you the beautiful journey."

Gotta say, i love AoT, but I also love One Piece (now more the manga, the anime lost it's quality somehow. Atmosphere was just better in the old episodes...)
True. It kind of sucks with a lot of Shonen jump mangas where they need to add filler or take their corresponding animes off the air.
actually i had goosebumbs when luffy and don chin jao fought and hito no dokuro played in the backround
tbh I think it's several things
1) bad animation
2) art style doesn't fit, it looks like they have to tone down some of the dirt and blood and negative things because the way they do art doesn't seem to support it to well.
3) bad pacing like seriously it would prob almost be better to restart one piece at episode 1 and reanimate everything then to go at the pace they do now.
Though I will say some of the music the anime gives just goes really well with the scenes and it's nice to see some things animated because I don't have the imagination to see things the way they are always intended in the manga and one piece is so good that as long as the animators follow the plot they can mess up almost everything and still have good scenes worth watching.
cowman Jr. Yeah. The animation style is OK, however the quality has been reduced. Compare Episode 400 (just an example) with current episodes, pay attention to faces. There is simply more detail. And what you also mentioned: it's cut. Often blood and other details are missing and scenes are often strechted unnecessarely. If they'd make ONE 15 Minute episode every 2 weeks but therefore with a much higher quality, full details (when it comes to blood) and no filler scenes it would greatly increase the quality of the anime.
Levi Ackerman once they reach the kaido saga even the mad house folks would take notes of a dope animation one piece will have

Could we get the soundtrack used extensively in Alabasta Arc. There were some themes, I loved so much. There was Cobra's theme, I liked the most. It was also played during Wiper's Intro in Skypiea. Particularly episode 163. Someone please name it.

God i love this Anime. I love shows with smaller meanings that inspire the audience and make them happy. You really connect to these characters. They're not over powered, they're not all badass, they're people with goals and they'll stop at nothing to achieve their dreams and thats amazing to me.

I've learned so many lessons from One piece,Although I'm still young I've gone through a lot of heartache and if not for what I got from watching One piece I might have lost it and lived the rest of my life with contempt only to regret in the end.Thank you Eiichiro Oda.

I've watched this anime over 3 times. I grew out of my depression and suicide because of Luffy's courage and strength. I was able to overcome my social anxiety, my stubberness to workout, my laziness to try harder in school. I became who I am today because of this show. When you have no faith in the world, when everything fails around you, when you feel like fate conspires against you...Luffy will never let his Nakama suffer. Believe in him, greatness waits for no one!!
Over the years, i've seen alot of anime. One piece is a long journey, which can transform a person. It has had great influence in my life. The music, and the show in general is so fucking great!
I see a bunch of people comparing it to naruto, but i think it is kinda unfair. The only minus i have with Naruto, is the fillers. Naruto is a shorter story. The fillers are just there to fit with tv-schedule. I dropped the fillers early, and i have absolutely loved it. Naruto's music is mind-blowing aswell.
+qonte s I love one piece but i think its kind of silly to talk about an anime transforming some one lol. I am sorry but i just picture people role playing mock battles eating apples saying it is their devil fruit . I prefer to be defined by real life experiences. Not a fantasy that some one else made up in their mind.
+michael treu i see your point haha, and i agree to a certain degree. But i think that is what is so awesome with anime/ fiction. Everything that was emotional in real life, is enhanced. When i say that it has changed me, it is not in a physical manner. Im not stronger because i got motivated by itatchi, its because of the stories. They are so in-depth and so well made that the metaphores and motives between the lines soaks up. Watching different characters have helped me identify myself.
One Piece has the power to transform a person, let alone a child. You just don't realise it.

Everything about this series is amazing. The story; the characters; the music; everything! You feel so much emotion just from looking at a picture and listening to the music. Oda is an absolute genius.

These pieces of music that bring me tears and joy. Totally overwhelmed with the music. It's like a file for my memorise like others too. It's just too great. The "One Piece" which holds so many meanings.
