I like to believe that there's negative time in long running shounen like this. Time spent off screen that we aren't told about. In One Piece it makes perfect sense that these travels from island to island would take weeks, if not months and that a lot of just everyday action is happening on board that we just don't need to see.
The logic and rationality behind this video is 100% BS! 😅 By that logic Ace who set sail 2 years ago already found the One piece and the world is extremely small!
@@V0rtre I think what they're saying is by the logic of the video there is almost no meaningful distance between islands since straw hats can travel from one to other in the same day basically and they're very close to the end line in just around a year so everyone else who came before should've found one piece a long time ago since the world is so small
I choose to ignore this, in my headcanon they've spended years together, and they spend time in the sea and visiting islands training and doing silly sidequests.

Some of the times arent specified but assuming they are basically immediately following eachother doesn't make much sense.

1:33 I’ve always questioned the timeline. I’ll be watching. I feel like there is considerable time not accounted for that is mostly travel time. It likely takes more than a day to get to their next stop.
You realize how less time passes by in One piece universe when you binge watch the anime. What we don't know exactly is how long their see travels are between the islands. But in total the whole pre time skip happenings take place within roughly half a year. They took 2 years of training after traveling half a year together until the continued their journey. And within some month they become best friends and would die for each other.
the sea travel is what irks me in this video. He is putting 1 day travel AND finishing stuff up. all in one day. nah. I always took it like there's a long-ish travel time between each island, unless stated so.
Almost all sea travel can be more-or-less discerned by the narrative. They never spend more than 2wks on the water, between stops & that’s a rare occurrence. Like Dressrosa to Zou was ~1wk. Zou to WCI & Zou to Wano was ~2wks. WCI to Wano was ~2wks. Since they spent about 3 days on WCI, the Straw hats were separated for ~1 month, thanks to Sanji’s shenanigans. Even more insane is when you compare it to sailing around our world. The size of their world is multiple-times the size of ours. Alabasta is at least the size of Canada, by itself. How fast does the wind blow? Every rainy day has to be the equivalent of a tropical storm.
@@APrime25 yeah, well, just thinking of the video saying that there's literally 1 day of travel, which includes them getting to an island and doing their shenanigans. just doesn't add up.
the total total is 869 730 days training 179 days sailing (but sailing would actually take way longer given the planet's size) you guys gotta remember that the original story should have ended in 5 years and didn't have the warlords but Oda had already planned gear 5, so it would finish somewhere around marineford that would be around 100 days sailing originally
Sailing would take longer but not much longer, because many scales of the One Piece planet are statement scales and not feat scales. And some scales are nothing more than die hard fan scales. You even find people who claim Dressrosa is 4000km in diameter based on statements... The feats in the panels show that Dressrosa is not even 40km in diameter. The same goes for the planet as a whole, it is very, very big, but not as big as many people think.
There are big problems because if we look at the adventure before the timeskip it would only last 3 months, this is not possible because they themselves say in the anime that it has been 1 month since they saved Robin at Enies Lobby before the Thousand Sunny was revealed. When he meets Brook and tells them about Laboon they say that they already met him 8 months ago
The size of the world in One Piece is much larger than earth. There are allegedly more than 20 million islands (Marco's observations) in that world with an average size of an island being close to Greenland and in some cases reaching Australia size (Arabasta). Because of that there is a theory that a day in One Piece world is way longer than a day in our world.
I think GrandLineReview did a video(using another person's math) on the size of the OP world, based of the river in Alabasta. The river was 25 miles wide(I think) and using that measurement to find the size of Alabasta. Alabasta is roughly the size of Australia, anyway basing Alabasta as general measurement and using Marco's 20 mil island observation it was decided that the OP world is roughly 4x the size of Jupiter. Which would put the circumference of the OP world around 1,100,000,000 miles, around 45x bigger than the circumference of the Earth. Traveling around the equator of Earth unobstructed would take roughly 150 days by ship. It should take longer than this video suggests but a lot less time than true time according to math. But like you said hours in a day could vary and with the crazy currents of the Grand Line who know at what speeds the ships are actually traveling.
The time skip. When Oda attempted to fix the in-universe & real word time discrepancies, then took over 2 years to talk about an afternoon playing w/ string & toys 🤣. It would be dumb… if it wasn’t so good!

Sanji was trained by the chef that could kick at the baratie all his life, Luffy trained his entire life, and zoro trained his whole life and was a pirate hunter b4 meeting. So yeah 50 days but that’s just how long they’d been together
I need to point out that Luffy got to Red Line in 6 months after entering the grand line via Reverse Mountain. It was stated in the manga as the crew arrived at the Red Line. And the two weeks of East Blue is very incorrect as it would take a month or two from the first town to Reverse Mountain. You definitely did not count the travel time properly.
As much as I wish I could have a head cannon where the crew spent a lot longer together, we know that Luffy is 17 when he sets out on his journey and 19 post timeskip. I’m not sure if it is written down anywhere but I am pretty sure Luffy isn’t 20 yet, that means with timeskip included the whole journey could only be extended by 185 days in order for Luffy to still be the age he is.

They could have spent days/weeks out at the sea. I didn't have time to confirm this tho... anyoune knows for sure they reached Jaya the same day that they left Alabasta? Will look it up and edit this comment when I have some time..
Sure, if you only go by the things mentioned. With fiction like this you gotta account for some downtime not shown, and apply some headcanon too. Some of the events couldn't take place in a single day, even if you believe that One Piece days are longer. Heck, even the anime adds some of its own headcanon in the form of fillers that extend the overall timeline of the series. My personal headcanon is that the pre-timeskip period lasts a year, and post-timeskip is half a year.
for those that wanna know without spoilers its 179 days and i think its wrong bc one year is 365/366 days and we dont know in which year luffy started, and as we can see (SPOILERS AHEAD) and as we can see when the straw hats reunited in 2 yrs and 3 months or smthin like that and so it should be 820-821 days or smthing like that pre timeskip, and idk much about post cuz i havent gotten there yet,but according to google "How long did the Wano arc last? Nearly four and a half years" u can solve the rest cuz im not getting spoilered anymore and im too lazy to do the math
I think that since the one piece world is so massive one day in one piece is equal to like 3 or 4 for us, and like there is atleast a week - 2 months of travel time with just fucking around and stopping on random islands that don’t have plot significance
Comparing Luffy, Ace , Sabo brother trio at the same age. Ace : 2nd division commander of the white beard pirates (under a yonko) Sabo : Number 2 in the Revolutionary Army (Can put up a fight against yonko) Luffy : Became a yonko (Can even rival a gorosei) This proves why Luffy is the GOAT 😈
Don't you think you kind of disregard that they would be on sea more than one day at a time. I am 90% certain that we just haven't been shown the several days or weeks of travel between islands.
There is no way in hell that a ship journey from an island to another would take less than 3 days You have to add 3 to 6 days at least for every journey they took from an island to another

( so it might happens just for 1 night) well idk the exact day, but its seems the time its not AS long AS we though So luffy just sailed a few month and he became a yonkou is crazy ( if time skip not counted) officially luffy just sailed around 2y or more and he became a yonkou
Thank I appreciate it
That’s crazy that luffy is fighting final arc villains week after week 🤯
it's crazy to think that the fight in dressrosa only took 1 day
179 days for the Strawhats but an eternity to the viewer
179 just for Luffy actually, lol
This could be based on true observations, however, as accurate as it might be, still it doesn't make sense
I did some digging, with the time skip, the crew has 3 years. With that they've been a crew for nearly 1 year
diddnt luffy have to work on the sanji's boat for a year? or something?
I had thought up until the crew met Duval, it had been 3 years on their journey, Sanji said something like it had been 3 years since his wanted poster picture was taken
This video is false just report the video for misinformation
We know that Luffy was 17 when he set sail and we know for a fact that Luffy is 19 after the timeskip. As the timeskip was 2 years, we know that everyone that happened pre timeskip happened in less than 1 year
06:05 "the crew leave Alabasta after having spent 3 days in the kingdom and ON THE SAME DAY they reach Jaya" - sorry, how do you know it was on the same day that they reached Jaya? They could have spent days/weeks out at the sea. I didn't have time to confirm this tho... anyoune knows for sure they reached Jaya the same day that they left Alabasta? Will look it up and edit this comment when I have some time..
Poor Brook he joins the crew and then 2 days later gets separated for 2 years
Sure, if you only go by the things mentioned.
It’s hard to believe they had the merry for only about two months
Pre-time skip: 3 month’s
Post-time skip: one month, two week’s.
The kid eventually will find the one piece like how I did
They’ve only spent this much time?
Fun Fact: the Marine who was spared by Kuro, and the dude broke his jaw. That was Morgan
Bro forget to mentioned that travelling in seas takes time
25 years of the show, and very little time for them, dang, by the time anybody the crew get any romances, we'll all be old and gray, lol
for those that wanna know without spoilers its 179 days
and i think its wrong bc one year is 365/366 days and we dont know in which year luffy started, and as we can see
(SPOILERS AHEAD)
and as we can see when the straw hats reunited in 2 yrs and 3 months or smthin like that and so it should be 820-821 days or smthing like that pre timeskip, and idk much about post cuz i havent gotten there yet,but according to google "How long did the Wano arc last?
Nearly four and a half years" u can solve the rest cuz im not getting spoilered anymore and im too lazy to do the math
I think that since the one piece world is so massive one day in one piece is equal to like 3 or 4 for us, and like there is atleast a week - 2 months of travel time with just fucking around and stopping on random islands that don’t have plot significance
The Eistein theory, time is relative, in the one piece mangá, the things happening really fast, but in real world, we need to wait the release
This video feel like the 100 day MC video
East blue is larger than grand line width, they dont spend just a few days there traveling between islands... is physically impossible
U forgot about the 3 days that the crew was in kumas bubble cause it states they spent 3 days in there instead of one
What’s crszy is that he go a bounty after 13 days of being a pirate
Oh the wind Carrie’s my name.from sniper island far away🎶🎸🎸
I feel like there should be a lot more time spent at sea. The travelling times between islands should be longer
I could have sworn it was cannon that all pre timeskip was 9 months, with most of it being off screen travel
I’m so surprised the dressrosa arc was one day
Whenever someone tells you the crew has traveled together for less than half a year (179 < 182.5 days), you can tell their time scaling is dogshit.
They spend way more because the logpose needs time on each island
Comparing Luffy, Ace , Sabo brother trio at the same age.
Ace : 2nd division commander of the white beard pirates (under a yonko)
Sabo : Number 2 in the Revolutionary Army (Can put up a fight against yonko)
Luffy : Became a yonko (Can even rival a gorosei)
This proves why Luffy is the GOAT 😈
Man forgot that luffy were working for a week in baratie 😢
Robin has been more time with the revolutionary than she has with straw hats
zoro spent more time with mihawk too, luffy with rayleigh, literally every straw hat during time skip
Zoro spent time with Perona
Shes old
And looks old
Are you telling me the east blue happened in just two weeks, that's crazy 🥵
Don't you think you kind of disregard that they would be on sea more than one day at a time. I am 90% certain that we just haven't been shown the several days or weeks of travel between islands.
Ain’t no way we spent 1000+ episodes 20 mins each to watch the crew be together for 179 days
Theres no way sailing from islands takes 1 day , be real man
dang bro they’re traveling FAST
Dosent luffy climb the cliff at barrel island at night and wakes up the next day?
There is no way in hell that a ship journey from an island to another would take less than 3 days
You have to add 3 to 6 days at least for every journey they took from an island to another
how can the dress rosa arc end at day SIX💀
The entire alabasta arc WAS 3 DAYS!?
Edit: i just realized that this story isn’t as long as others 💀
