So he says "Alright. Have you ever heard the story of Monkey D. Luffy?" The boy shakes his head, and the Straw Hat Pirate says "Okay. Sit down, this is gonna be a long one." And it fades to black, and that's the end...
This OST reminds me of a quote my late grandma used to say all the time: Everyone wants happiness. No one wants pain. But you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain. I don’t know why but I feel like it fits One Piece to a tee.

I think Mother Sea is the perfect farewell song. I wouldn't call it a sad song, but a nostalgic one, which is different. However, when the "We are" melody comes, it gives you that comforting feeling: it was a great adventure, now go on. There are many new things waiting for you. I like how One Piece works so well with this concept. Most of the Strawhats had a tragic past. Each of them had to leave something behind to be part of the crew (family, friends, their lifestyle, their last crew...). Each of them knows how loss feels. Along the journey, they lose more things (Merry, Ace, they are separated...). After all of this, you wouldn't expect any of them to be optimistic or happy, but they are. Despite all the bad things they go through, they endure, and they move on with their lives. We can learn many things from them. "Part of the journey is the end". Going Merry had "a wonderful life" (like Dr. Hiruluk says). He knew it was the moment to say goodbye, but he wanted the crew to keep the good memories. May we all remember this in our lives. It's okay to cry, but you have to move on (Shanks). Stop counting all the things you lost. What is there that still remains to you? (Jinbe).
As a person who just started One Piece recently (I'm at Syrup Village right now), I want to take a moment to appreciate Luffy and ChouChou's moment. I never would have thought that I could ever see a fictional dog almost make me tear up. Oda wrote a gut wrencing character drama for a dog and he got away with it. And sadly nobody is talking about Chouchou. Such an underrated character.
The issue is, there are so many characters deserving our attention that we can't really give all our attention to a single character ❤️❤️❤️ we all love Chouchou, but among a huge number of similar lovable characters
Luffys crew is the perfect definition of "You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends" they are just one big family and that's what makes it so good, Merry was apart of the family, she is apart of the crew and always will be, this was one of the first times I ever cried for One Piece, I start this show with my brother in my childhood, and I will end it with my brother when we are adults. That's the plan, that's how it goes, thank you Oda, for making my childhood the best

God i love One Piece so much. What Oda created is a real masterpiece and it will take another 10 years until it ends, can u believe that? Simply awesome. Oda san you are the real legend, your lvl of foreshadowing, the depth and love for the details. Man its a love hate thing, i truely wish to see Luffys journey coming to its end where he achieved what he wants so badly. On the other side i will be very very sad if the end is reached. Nothing ever got that attention from me over years. I´m 30 and will be watchin one piece with my daughter one day within the next years. Cant believe i was a child when i began watchin this awesome story and it keeps on.
I bet that in the future, you'll be with your daughter after One Piece ends, and you'll say to her "Have I ever told you the story of the One Piece?" And you two can just re watch the series together. :3

I kinda like how in a lot of shows they try to pretty up the act of crying, But in one piece everyone sobs in the most disgustingly genuine way possible with full on snot and everything.

So much agreed, and I've even made this point several times myself, I LOVE that they show the ugly crying, because crying is not supposed to be pretty, you're sad, you don't care about looking pretty, you just want to express this heavy emotion weighing down on you in this very moment, and that shit aint pretty, and it only makes me feel so much more for the characters, because since they don't hold back, then I can't possibly hold back either.

There’s very few stories that have the amount of love, time, and energy that Oda puts into One Piece. I’m glad I live in the short amount of time it’s being told in
Chopper's past with doctor and poisonous soup; Straw hats sailing from Alabasta and Vivi watching them; The whole story of Usopp in Water 7; Saying goodbye to Merry; Robin's past; Brook's last song with his crew; Finish of Marineford arc with Ace and Akainu, and finally when Luffy came back to his mind and thought about his friends just before timeskip. This silly Anime had so many moments that made me cry like a bitch... did I forget something ?
Just one thing. Don't ever stop watching One Piece. Yes there is some boring arcs and episodes and art style might not be good for you but trust me, it's really worth it and I'm not even caught up. I am on episode 583 right now Punk Hazard arc. Almost forgot, the only thing that's bad about one piece is pacing, at the start it was good but it became worse over time. That's the only thing that bothers me

Nami cries and repeatedly stabs the tattoo on her shoulder, shouting Arlong's name in hatred, Luffy grabs her arm and stops her from stabbing, Nami yells at Luffy, that he knows nothing, and it's none of his business, shouting to leave and throwing dirt at him Nami stops for a second, trembling, looks over her shoulder and asks Luffy, "Help Me..." Luffy responds by putting his Straw Hat on Nami's head and yelling, "Damn Right!!!" Nami remembers when Luffy got mad when his hat was taken, and said "don't touch my treasure!" She realizes Luffy trusts her with his Treasure. And the tears start to flow again.
i always remember this track on a lot of touching and sad moments but specially when Kuina's dad talks to Zoro and give him Kuina's sword saying: "Kuina's soul and dreams, i leave them to you" and Zoro broke and started to cry... shit that was sad D:
That scene was sooo deep. I can really empathize with the sadness and the literal and metaphorical hope that was handed to Zoro. Man I feel you brotha.
This has to be the most emotional piece of music I've ever heard. I started One Piece only 8 months ago, and this song fills me with so much nostalgia. I really wish I could watch One Piece for the fist time again, the journey to getting caught up was so memorable and I loved every second of it. OP will truly be the best anime of all time, at least in my opinion.

the worst part about seeing the Merry go, was for the fact that about 100 episodes+ all i could think about was getting the Merry fixed, i had Usopp's mind during the sky island adventure, just wanting to spend the money to fix her up... and then she couldn't :( and i couldnt let her go >_< everything she went through, and even to come help one last time before the send off.... :'( *manly tears* Will miss you Merry. :)

I've started one piece three months ago, and due to college cant watch it as much as I'd like to. No other show had me so emotionally invested like one piece did. After only ten episodes i felt like I've never seen something as important and well-written as one piece. Now im on almost 100th episode. Still, I hold the same belief. ❤❤❤

I promise you Natsu, Ichigo, Naruto, Ken, Ruffy and every other Anime protagonist, I will keep you in my heart and show it to the next generation in the hope that these kids are doing it better than us. I know that One Piece is reaching its final saga, and I started watching it very late, still in the year 2022, but I only have one word to describe this anime: Thank you very much: Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, Sanji, Nami, Chopper, Nico Robin, Franky, Brook and Jinbe for being part of my adolescence and for having helped me in difficult moments that I faced in my life... As a person who just started One Piece recently (I'm at Syrup Village right now), I want to take a moment to appreciate Luffy and ChouChou's moment. I never would have thought that I could ever see a fictional dog almost make me tear up. Oda wrote a gut wrencing character drama for a dog and he got away with it. And sadly nobody is talking about Chouchou. Such an underrated character.

The issue is, there are so many characters deserving our attention that we can't really give all our attention to a single character ❤️❤️❤️ we all love Chouchou, but among a huge number of similar lovable characters
Luffys crew is the perfect definition of "You can't choose your family, but you can choose your friends" they are just one big family and that's what makes it so good, Merry was apart of the family, she is apart of the crew and always will be, this was one of the first times I ever cried for One Piece, I start this show with my brother in my childhood, and I will end it with my brother when we are adults. That's the plan, that's how it goes, thank you Oda, for making my childhood the best

Oda san you are the real legend, your lvl of foreshadowing, the depth and love for the details. Man its a love hate thing, i truely wish to see Luffys journey coming to its end where he achieved what he wants so badly. On the other side i will be very very sad if the end is reached. Nothing ever got that attention from me over years. I´m 30 and will be watchin one piece with my daughter one day within the next years. Cant believe i was a child when i began watchin this awesome story and it keeps on.
I bet that in the future, you'll be with your daughter after One Piece ends, and you'll say to her "Have I ever told you the story of the One Piece?" And you two can just re watch the series together. :3

So much agreed, and I've even made this point several times myself, I LOVE that they show the ugly crying, because crying is not supposed to be pretty, you're sad, you don't care about looking pretty, you just want to express this heavy emotion weighing down on you in this very moment, and that shit aint pretty, and it only makes me feel so much more for the characters, because since they don't hold back, then I can't possibly hold back either.

There’s very few stories that have the amount of love, time, and energy that Oda puts into One Piece. I’m glad I live in the short amount of time it’s being told in
Chopper's past with doctor and poisonous soup; Straw hats sailing from Alabasta and Vivi watching them; The whole story of Usopp in Water 7; Saying goodbye to Merry; Robin's past; Brook's last song with his crew; Finish of Marineford arc with Ace and Akainu, and finally when Luffy came back to his mind and thought about his friends just before timeskip.
This silly Anime had so many moments that made me cry like a bitch... did I forget something ?
Nami losing her mom, Usopp's mom dying, Dark King recalling of Roger, Straw hats' "apparent death," Coby speaking up to Akainu, Sabo returning.

Just one thing. Don't ever stop watching One Piece. Yes there is some boring arcs and episodes and art style might not be good for you but trust me, it's really worth it and I'm not even caught up. I am on episode 583 right now Punk Hazard arc. Almost forgot, the only thing that's bad about one piece is pacing, at the start it was good but it became worse over time. That's the only thing that bothers me

Nami cries and repeatedly stabs the tattoo on her shoulder, shouting Arlong's name in hatred, Luffy grabs her arm and stops her from stabbing, Nami yells at Luffy, that he knows nothing, and it's none of his business, shouting to leave and throwing dirt at him
Nami stops for a second, trembling, looks over her shoulder and asks Luffy, "Help Me..." Luffy responds by putting his Straw Hat on Nami's head and yelling, "Damn Right!!!"
Nami remembers when Luffy got mad when his hat was taken, and said "don't touch my treasure!" She realizes Luffy trusts her with his Treasure. And the tears start to flow again.

This has to be the most emotional piece of music I've ever heard. I started One Piece only 8 months ago, and this song fills me with so much nostalgia. I really wish I could watch One Piece for the fist time again, the journey to getting caught up was so memorable and I loved every second of it. OP will truly be the best anime of all time, at least in my opinion.

You learned me so many important things. Thank you for being part in my childhood, Teens and probably till I die. I promise you Natsu, Ichigo, Naruto, Ken, Ruffy and every other Anime protagonist, I will keep you in my heart and show it to the next generation in the hope that these kids are doing it better than us. As Doc Bader said it “When does a man die ? When he’s hit by a bullet ? No. When he suffers a disease? No. When he ate a soup made out of a poisonous mushroom? No! A man dies when he’s forgotten!”. Remember these wonderful characters and show the next generation that. Arigato and sayonara.
