BarbsterFilms If I know that I will be using a grip with a cold shoe adapter and a microphone every time I use the gimbal, should I balance it with all of those things attached? Thanks!

Great video! If I take the camera off for shooting stills, but dont touch the screws of the gimbal, do I have to balance it again when I put the camera back on? Can gimbals be folded into a flat position for storing (while hiking for example), without the need the balance again?

I tried to balance my Canon M6 mirrorless camera on the Zhiyun Crane 3-axis and could not balance it on the tilt motor pointing up. There was just not enough weight in its camera and lens to balance it in the pointing up position. Fortunately, I had bought a SmallRig cage for the M6 and place that on the camera then on to the gimbal and, lo and behold, it had enough weight to balance. The next option would have been to use the adapter and an EF lens on the camera but my 24-70mm F.4.0 is quite a bit larger than the standard kit zoom lens that came with the M6.

You forgot to correctly balance the roll axis . You were focused on tilt axis and that you should Stay still no matter tilted up or down .
But you have to test that the roll axis will stay still in any direction you put it. Which means roll it clock wise and anti clock wise to see if it will stay put or roll back horizontal , if it rolls back horizontal flat then it's not perfectly balanced

Wow.. using the gimbal is not as simple as I thought it would be. If I have to do this every time then this could be very frustrating.
