No 5-40? I was told by tuners that's the weight to use, especially in the summer?

Nice driveshaft! I just threw mine on my 23 STI swapped. I went DSS but PST is also excellent. You will love it! So smooth to drive!

This VB WRX is so easy to change the oil on. I highly recommend anyone that has a safe place to work DIY and enjoy the satisfaction of a job done right.
And save a few bucks too 👍

But don’t you want the dealer to do the oil change for your service history book?

    • @jedwin4816

@@unclelive6918 They can't require you to have a dealer change your oil or else they'd have to do it for free. What I do might be old fashioned but it's what I've always done: I keep a notebook of all the maintenance I've done on the car with dates and mileage and I cut the proof of purchase off the oil bottles and filter box and keep it in a plastic zip lock bag for if I ever need it. I've been told this is sufficient evidence - luckily I've never needed to present it for any warranty claims for any car/truck I've owned.

One thing that you didn't do was to check the oil level after the change. The 5L Motul jug is too much. I never use all of it. Luckily with the fumoto, it's very easy to drain a little if needed.

Hi quick question is that oil prime start stock or a tune feature ?

    • @JoeyMontalto

Stock feature. You can try it out.

@@JoeyMontalto sweeet I had an 02 bug eye that lasted 16 plus yrs with original turbo prodrive tune till the head gaskets finally went so I’m looking at the 24s

Are you planning on doing a master cylinder swap?

    Step one: Don't buy a WRX 😂
    Jkjk
Also the fumoto that I bought was from the VA and the new famoto I think it's 108 SX is the one that can swivel that installs on the VB easily without having to remove the heat shield. I ended up taking the heat shield off and cut myself three times doing it.

73k miles on my 22 vb regular oil changes all stock. What maintenance would you recommend I do?

    • @JoeyMontalto
      @JoeyMontalto  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

At 73k I would change the plugs if they haven’t been changed yet. Other than that just make sure oil changes regularly and make sure coolant is topped off

Have you changed the oil in your transmission and rear diff? There's a good video on this channel on how to do it. It's not that hard. I spent more time getting the car up high enough and safe than most of the job itself. I used Motul 300 and it shifts smooth in any temp around where I live.

@JoeyMontalto i have never changed plugs on a subaru before how difficult can these be? Was going to have dealer do it but they want like 100 per plug it's crazy. I'm good with my hands and have a lot of experience working on cars just not these as this is my first wrx.
