How to Upgrade from Windows 11 Home OEM to Windows 11 Pro Retail : Step-by-Step Guide

- In this tutorial, we'll guide you through the process of upgrading your Windows 11 Home OEM to Windows 11 Pro Retail. We'll be demonstrating on an HP desktop that's pre-installed with Windows 11 Home OEM. Our approach involves initially utilizing a Generic Key for the upgrade, followed by activating the system with an official Retail Key from Microsoft. It's essential to understand that the Generic Key serves only for the upgrade purpose, allowing us to then activate with the Retail Key. Find the commands and the Generic Key we sourced online listed below.
For the initial command, you'll want to configure the LicenseManager to auto-start, then kick it off. Use this line: sc config LicenseManager start= auto & net start LicenseManager.
For the second command, the aim is to configure the Windows Update service (wuauserv) to start automatically and then activate it. Input the following: sc config wuauserv start= auto & net start wuauserv.
For the third command, you'll be updating the product key using the given value. Enter the following: changepk.exe /productkey VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Joel, your last video had kid settings, so I could not ask questions or save the video.
I tried to change the battery, but put the harness in upside down because it looked like the correct way. I obviously fried something or blew a diode or fuse.
I now need to first find a service manual or forum or get a hint at what to do or replace. If that fails, I will likely buy another and use this for spare parts. It has a new battery, screen, and cpu fan, if nothing else. I would pay for fixing it, but the cost would need to $100 ish or lower. The problem is that there are not enough resources of information. So, just finding a manual could take hours. The markup on repairs for gateway, would be a factor of 6 or 8. So, $340, most likely, for 1 hour of labor, which is more than a used unit. Upgrade to a new model with more ram, better cooling, smaller nm, more threads, bigger sdd, and better cpu benchmark, would make more sense.

For a clean installation, you would typically use just the key. However, the duration for which you have been using the existing operating system before upgrading is an important consideration. If you've been using the current system for a long time, there's a possibility that it might have accumulated malware or encountered other issues. In such scenarios, opting for a clean install is usually the best choice, in my opinion.
Hi! I have a brand new windows 11 home oem laptop and have purchased a windows 11 pro upgrade key with g2a but it’s giving error code 0x80072ee7 to say windows activation servers aren’t available right now. Do you have any ideas?😢
In most cases, we find that errors occur from installing other software (third party .net software) before activation. Additionally, with some G2A vendors, you may need to call in the key for activation after entering it. However, by following the steps I've provided, you shouldn't have to call in the key. @@RelaxxGamezunfortunately, there's no way to remove an OEM key from a motherboard. You can remove it from the operating system by changing it using the command prompts. I'm assuming you mean regarding the motherboard that you're looking to somehow not associate the OEM key to the motherboard? That would be something done on Microsoft's side. Maybe if you activate it with a second OEM key to the same motherboard it may overwrite their system. That would be the only way I would say to reverse that issue.

When I start the upgrade what about my data
The steps talked about in this process, only upgrade the operating system from Home to pro none your data should be affected however, any good technician will tell you to always back up your data before making any changes to your operating system.

Okay, so the next step is to make sure you're using a retail copy of Windows pro and you'll simply enter that product key in the change your product key section. Now if you've got an OEM key like from another computer, a sticker or you used some kind of tool to extract the product key from another computer that will not work. I recommend a company like G2A to get a product key. I think it's g2a.com if you're in the US or you're not sure which country you purchased your computer, make sure to purchase a global product key. Sometimes you got to restart your computer. I've seen that after you change the product key if it doesn't restart. Also make sure are your windows updates are installed

Alright, I've verified using another system that we need to factory restore and upgrade to Windows Pro. However, initially, we installed all the customer's software, and some of these programs installed their own version of .Net framework. When we attempted step 3, we encountered the same error you experienced. Subsequently, we decided to restart and factory reset the computer back to Windows 11 Home. Afterward, we followed the steps outlined in the video without any issues.
It's worth noting that you might encounter problems if you install additional software on the Home version and then attempt to switch to Pro, which could likely result in error 0x80070490. In summary, we were able to replicate the error and determine that the solution is to switch the OS from Home to Pro before installing any software. If you already have software installed, ensure you back up those programs and any necessary keys for reinstalling them.

@@joelgulick393 This piece of information "The problem you're facing is associated with the .NET Framework 3.5." was actually correct in my case: Tried to upgrade Windows 11 Home (OEM_DM channel according to slmgr.vbs /dlv) of my new Acer Nitro 5 (AN517-55-967Q) Laptop and I always got errors like 0x803fa067, 0x80010105, 0x80070490 and 0xc004f050 when I tried to upgrade to Windows 11 Pro via a Retail Key. What I had to do to solve this issue was: 1) Logging into Windows with a user account which has full administrative rights 2) Uninstalled unused or rarely used software via "Programs & Features" 3) Open "Windows Control Panel" (control.exe) -> "Programs & Features" -> Click on "Turn Windows features on or off" at the left side of the "Programs & Features window" -> In the "Turn Windows features on or off" window, uncheck ".NET Framework 3.5 (includes .NET 2.0 and 3.0)" and ".NET Framework 4.8 Advanced Services" -> Click on "OK" -> Wait until the components are uninstalled -> Close all open windows. 4) Also uninstall other .NET components you maybe find in "Programs & Features". 5) Windows 11 Settings -> "Network & internet" -> "Advanced network settings" -> Deactivate all network adapters 6) Windows 11 Settings -> "System" -> "Activation" -> "Change product key" -> "Change" -> Insert the key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T 7) After inserting the key, the "Preparing for upgrade" window documented the upgrade process and windows restarted afterwards. 8) After the restart, winver showed that Windows 11 Pro was now installed. 9) All I had to do afterwards, was to activate Windows 11 Pro with the retail key I bought recently.
they give me message that my activation not genuine with error code
Okay you first got to change the operating system from home to pro which will stay that it's not activated. Once you update the key with a legitimate key the system will activate. And a nutshell, use the generic key I provided in the comment section to change the OS to pro. It will not activate pro after which enter your key purchased from a retailer and presto activation complete. You must go through the command prompts one at a time. @@joelgulick393 I did exactly as you said; I am able to get the OS to Pro version (Not active) with the generic code you provided. Upon clicking on 'Change' button to the far right of 'Change product key' and entering my purchased key (Home Edition Product key) and hitting 'Next' button, I get an error message, "The product key you entered didn't work. Check the product key and try again, or enter a different one. (Oxc004f050). " I never saw the 'Activate' button. I tried restarting the computer a few times as well.

Why on earth do you want to downgrade bro?
Currently, I am not aware of a way to downgrade your OS. When we install a Windows Server OS, we use the OEM and activate it via PowerShell, allowing us to choose the OS while it's in evaluation mode. However, once we select the OS and activate the software, we are unable to downgrade.
One possible method is to run a Windows backup on your PC (Windows version), then install the new OS of your choice, activate the software, and restore the backup. This should allow you to restore your software and data. Please let us know if this works.
Note that we have not tested this method specifically, but we perform similar tasks on systems with backups in place when the restore process is needed.

I've got the same message. I previously tried to do it in windows activation menu and got the error 0x80010105.
