This is actually similar to a scheme I designed in The Railroaders Guild. It was the Huron & Western, and used that design, but with Burdakin Blue and Morency Orange.
things ill never thought ill see: a @The Winnipeg railfan having cowl unit productions and gaming railfan in a video CN not blowing there horn in a quiet zone (people in my towns are idoits and causing them to blow there horn) should i send them a letter about the new paint for there 30th anniversary?
Well I saw a cn dash 8 around 5 months ago in jasper Alberta with the cn logo and North America continent sticker and it was faded horrid so this paint scheme could definitely work
it took me a few minutes, but by the end of the video, heck yeah this would look amazing side note though, living in the maritimes where CN is the only road name we see here, I have yet to see the NA graphic behind the noodle, I wonder why that is
being called a 'cn simp' on discord and seeing this 2 weeks later I feel disappointed that I didnt see this sooner. I find it really good, and I wouldn't complain if cn actually did this. ALSO, off-topic, kind of, but i did find the og cpkc post on bluesky, which led me to a deeper rabbit hole of other railroad/railway parody accounts which gave me funny screenshots. ALSO ALSO I'm subscribing to this channel because funny and HOLY MOLY COWL UNIT PRODUCTIONS CAMEO!!1!1!1!
Great video and paint scheme! On another topic I wonder what Rocky Mountaineer scheme would look like if purchasing VIA F40PH-2's. I'll let that sink in, thanks!
Excellent new design for CN. Totally stellar. I'm going to email them the link to this video. Two questions: What's the name of the song on the end of the video and who is it by? Thanks. ✌️
For CN, that thinner and wrap-around hockey stick design with red following below is cool and somewhat leaves the old design intact with a modern take. The one slanted white stripe, old and new is so effective in the 3D look when sitting still and especially as they move, it's simple but yet makes for highlighting the shapes because it becomes mostly hidden or fully exposed along the way. And the colour contrasting combination gives the end to end difference even as red becomes black in the darkening hours, the white stands out and leans from the back to the front. I saw the white cab tops, that's not only cool to see, but I've known for a long time white is cool inside, so also practical as you point out. That's why many airplanes are white on many top surfaces and why people are preferring white or light coloured rooftops on buildings. Maybe white has more staying power up top too since it may not crack and blister while absorbing heat under the hot sun. I moved to where CP is at though there are CN and others seen on those trains. And I thought right away CP needs a new livery to highlight the shapes at least at the front like CN though in a different style like a wavey series of slanted strips there or a different pattern tucked in there. Anywhere all one colour is at, it can be more of a blend-in or silhouetted with fewer obvious shapes appearing. We see that in our homes with all one colour in some lighting conditions where corners and even door casings appear as all one wall surface up to some more distinct shapes or objects. When I saw the new CPKC livery, that was not what I thought was coming soon after hearing there'd be a change. Looks like they copied CN but thickened and changed the colour of the forward slanted line and rolled them forwards as the job was being done front to back. So, most still as was but an awkward ending to it and right over the front of the extended rads. I really think they should have done something different from the nearby competition possibly differentiating with both ends contrasting. And to show the 3D effect, even at the back end, so not only to see which end is which, but to put some similarly good 3D effect with the radiator shapes where those are built outwards or not on different kinds, that can help to identify what they are by those shapes standing out more or being flat. With some radiators more towards the middle, the livery pattern could be adjusted to the forwards design to do the same. Or those all go black over red to offer some 3D effect. I remember an aircraft engine manufacturer, I think Prat & Whitney if I spelled all that right, changed its iconic logo from a bird done in several colours to a simple series of lines to form what will be recognized as an outline of bird's head. The griping began. The old design, not only were these enamel on metal patches stolen off the engines, but they were made to buy as pins and other souvenir goods in the form of the patches and even as screen printing on coffee cups, these described the company with both print and style. Their fan loyalty and popularity went down with sales of the new design not going as well. The current design is much like the original with slight changes, a nice treasure to hold onto, even nicer if owning the original patch too. Logos and liveries do make a difference in design nearly as much as in quality and performance. I hope CPKC takes a different look at what they are doing before making more of that new livery happen, that's such a big and expensive project to be changing again and customers pay into these projects. I have heard, as was the aircraft engine patch change, that livery doesn't fit. The griping is happening. Pink, perhaps not the greatest red paint to begin with. I don't see that on other things which spend much or all of their time outdoors. Blue, that livery idea looked cool, but oh flukey as it was, that style in blue is already out there. Maybe the concept fits the design of most or all locomotives so well there'll be many people coming up with that in the most desirable colours and various other colours.
Also look at the Quebec, North Shore and Labrador paint scheme. It is basically the same as your new CN scheme. The Black is replaced with light gray, the red is replaced with orange and the white separation stripe is yellow. The yellow reflective frame stripe remains the same.
I actually wouldn’t mind if the BNSF were to adopt the QNS&L scheme as its own. Of course I would rather see the BNSF drop the scheme and branding all together and just revert to “Santa Fe” and return to the blue and yellow and of course the incomparable red and silver warbonnet!
I like the new paint scheme you guys made. I like the North America logo used on it, it looks good in lashup’s, and it’s way better than the disgusting CPKFC paint scheme. So nice job changing the paint scheme and great video. ❤️👍😎
The CN "wet noodle" logo was adapted perfectly to the Central Vermont, less so to the Grand Trunk, but gave up trying to fit it to the Duluth, Winnipeg, & Pacific.
Cool design. Can I borrow the style of the hockey stick idea from this design for my fictional Class 1 RR? Will use different colors of course and will also give you guys credit in the Config File of my Trainz Asset if you give the go-ahead. Thanks.
When I see the blue GECXs that are still running 7 years after CN bought them, I think that painting is one of CN's last priorities. 7 years or the GECX are not yet equipped to be a leader in Canada.

CN's North America livery was pretty much perfect. CP Rail's Multimark livery was pretty much perfect. What CP Rail has become is not even worth acknowledging. I finally understand the really old-school CPR rail guys grumbling and snarking about their 'grand old railway' and beavers and cabooses and grey+brown locomotives - still not a fan of their stodgy, 78rpm scratchy-victrola records world of trains, but I get where they're coming from. I'd even buy them a drink now. CN, at least, kinda left things more or less as they were. Not really a fan of the website URL as part of the logo - logos should stand alone, proud and crowded by nothing else. (Are you listening, VIA? YOU DON'T NEED TO ADD A &*%$^& RED MAPLE LEAF TO REMIND US YOU'RE CANADIAN AND THEN SPELL EVERYTHING OUT WITH WORDS BELOW IT ALL! (sound of vein erupting) mumble... mumble... mumble... need a drink, man... ) Your revision is actually kinda cool. LOVE seeing the North America map back in place; that should never have been dropped.
No more mergers, it's time to demerger. Great Northern, Northern Pacific, Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, Spokane, Portland & Seattle, Rocky the Goat, Zephyrs, Great Big Giant Baked Potato, Big Sky Blue, Cascade Green, Chinese Red, Super Chiefs, Warbonnets, Bluebonnets, Butter bonnets, and the Atchison, Topeka & the Santa Fe.
Im not really a fan of the line at the side of the locomotive, it doesnt really fit in the nice black CN goes for, im more of the fan of the fade CN used today, but besides that, it looks good!

Could the trio merge with the Pensyfan in case of the completed T1 Trust?
@jmrgg3669 I'm not Canadian tho. :(
@@Pensyfan19 I mean by CN North America (includes the USA.)
yessir haha, I’ll have to have you on a video sometime soon!
@@TheWinnipegRailfan Note: I'm currently watching The Trains of Breaking Bad.
As someone who thinks CN's paint scheme is mid, I approve
Is it bad when I see CN I always think "cartoon network"? 😂
Pretty soon, every railroad will be a nameless acronym.
Thus video reeks of Canadian energy. I love it
Paint scheme looking like hockey stick. That's one of the most Canadian thing I seen.

THE PERFECT COLLAB FINALLY HAPPENED 🗣️🗣️🔥🔥‼️
CN wasted an opportunity to make a zebra stripe HU
That would be cool
If CSX YN2, AWVR, and CN all had a kid this is what the child would be
Your design looks similar to AWVR 777 from the movie Unstoppable (2010)
This is actually similar to a scheme I designed in The Railroaders Guild. It was the Huron & Western, and used that design, but with Burdakin Blue and Morency Orange.
I mean, NS had the horse head for like 10 to 20 years but it still works

yes !! Prince Rupert LOL
