- One of the songs that I played over and over again growing up was Mad World by @TearsForFearsOfficial. Hard to imagine a song that seems more relevant right now. I am so happy to share a new beautiful version by my dear friend Curt Smith of @TearsForFearsOfficial with his daughter Diva recorded for us from their quarantine life in LA.

As a father to daughters, I love this. As a musician, I love this. As a Tears for Fears fan, I love this. As a person with ears connected to my brain with a beating heart, I love this.
Her harmonizing tho. It sends shivers down my spine.

As a dad of 3 daughters, this rendition of Mad World always makes me tear up. The connection between Curt and his daughter is something that I've felt many times.
A child that can laugh and play music with a parent is a blessing.
This is how children become good people. Good parenting.
I was probably his daughter’s age when I first heard this song. Now I’m 55 years old. Always a TFF fan. Beautiful harmony!!
I love how daughters often look just like their Dads and sons look like their Mothers.

Doesn’t matter if Curt is performing with a full TFF band in front of thousands or just sitting and strumming with his daughter, he still gives it his all. Beautiful!
Curt Smith is a genius and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to Diva. Amazing.
No one harmonizes better than family members. They have that semblance implanted in their voices. This was a prime example - beautiful, natural harmony. Bravo!
What more a father would want than see his daughter playing with him one of his songs? This is happiness!
3 years later and this is still amazing. If you didn’t know it was his daughter and it was in radio, you would think “that’s a great back-up vocalist he’s got there. So good.
Awesome guitar playing and harmonizing with her dad. It’s just THAT much amazing that his daughter picked up an instrument and learned her dad’s song. That “Gary Jules” version of Mad World has taken an identity of its own. Even Tears For Gears plays this version live. Now the daughter appreciates that version as well. Great great moment and almost and tear jerker.

Honestly the way she is coming in with her vocal parts really makes it feels really special, it's like a slow volume rise into a beautiful harmony.
It is impossible to overlook how alike they look: the cheekbones, the eyes. Such a beautiful duet. Curt is one of the music greats and seems to be a wonderful person as well.
This is beautiful. And on a weird side note, I have always wanted a father who would spend time doing this type of thing with me. I’m glad relationships like this exist between fathers and daughters. 🥰
