I noticed that too. A lot of (what? 10? 12? year old?) girls would want to show out but here she just tries to make it perfect. And does. Kind of impressive.
@@Trollificusv2 She's 21/22 ish.
@@96jde Yes, she looks younger than her age.
Curt, I was heartbroken when I found out you guys broke up. I have to state that I am 57 years old. I bought a ticket to your Dallas show back in 1986 I believe. it was the big chair tour. Literally in the top three shows I’ve ever seen. And believe me, brother I’ve seen a few. Regarding this video, I have a 13-year-old daughter who is taking a musical instrument and watching you play with your daughter gives me great joy.
They're back together now and do tour again. That said, it ain't cheap. They played Warwick Castle near where I live. It was over £100 a ticket.
Isn't this just an amazing father / daughter moment? Fantastic.
When this song came out in Australia, Curt was 21, now he is now 58 (same as me) and his beautiful daughter is now 21. Nice synergy. Haunting rendition. Well done. This one is a keeper.😊
so what your really trying to say is his daughter is a loser whos done nothing at 21 when the old man came out with an all time classic? lol
@@albertkelly7129 basically, you claiming that a 21 year old woman you don't even know to be a loser who has done nothing, just by watching a home made video of her playing and singing nicely... but even so, you are talking about her... you are the one to laugh about.
@Beumadine Sweevy you call a 58 year old man millenial. genius
@@albertkelly7129 Ignorant comment. That's not what he is saying at all. His was a kind, thoughtful observation. Why make such a stupid, juvenile comment about someone you don't even know? It reflects badly on you.
Glad I'm not the only one to realize the age correlation.. Such a talented family.
Who in their right mind would give this a thumbs down? This is fantastic!
It's a very very mad world
Mad people
It´s call envy
Great song , performed by dad and daughter.
It is phony
Harmonizing with your daughter on a beautiful song that is beloved by millions must be a great feeling.
Gorgeous!!!!
Fathers and daughters. This mad world needs more of this positivity! Thank you, Curt Smith! :-)
This is gorgeous sounding. Warms the heart to see father and daughter moments like this...
That is just the coolest thing ever. Dad and daughter doing a chill combo.
It’s a hauntingly beautiful song!
They sound amazing together! 😊
of course, the song is great, but the fact it's father and daughter is just awesome !
The chemistry here is rarely seen in music, but when it happens, it is heavenly.
John Phillips - Definitely a sign of a good parent. I’m a female & a musician. My dad was a musician & never had ANY time for me, let alone, time to sit down & teach music to me. Maybe this is why I only play angry punk/metal music 😆
My toes Are cold I wish my daughter would slow down so I could teach her...
I love the song. But the best thing i love here is to see the father and the daughter smile at each other, in deep profound understanding. That connection is worth a lot!
Yep. As a huge Tears for Fears fan and the father of a girl, this is one of my favorite all time videos. Love that father-daughter bond between them.
Boy im 60 the relevance of this song in this mad word. I wish we could go back and see truth and change this mad world❤💐🥰😭😭😭😭
Who didn't have a mad crush on Curt Smith growing up in the 80's? I love seeing him with such a lovely family.
@@oldmanriver2721A shame, but yes.
I realized I was gay then
@@herwig1 You have good taste.👍🏽 I hope you had support and love growing up.
It is impossible to overlook how alike they look: the cheekbones, the eyes. Such a beautiful duet. Curt is one of the music greats and seems to be a wonderful person as well.
Can we say Goosebumps. Everytime she joined in. Totally great
That girl when she blends in in close harmony. She got a golden voice with an ability to play guitar. vary rare! Both did an excellent job!!!
There is something special about families signing together and the way they can harmonise
This is lovely to see Curt Smith performing one of the most greatest Tears For Fears songs either his own daughter. So sweet and lovely to see. She sings beautifully, just like her old man 😊. What a lovely video.
You know when people say "I don't know who needed to hear this but"..
Me. I needed to hear this. One of my favorite songs of all time done beautifully. Made my week.
I love this and love to see the love and relaxed confidence of his daughter. Thank you!
Beautiful beautiful harmonizing
My god she’s brilliant!!
@Robert Lilley any chance that's on top of the love?
Its his grand daughter.
@@prestigeworld-wide8292 No its his 21 year old daughter Diva Smith
Her vocals are absolutely brilliant
They were average to me it’s not Mariah Carey but her harmonies were spit on

I literally got chills when her harmony vocal came in. Gorgeous.

Oh Curt this is amazing. You were not only a world class singer but now I see an ideal dad in you. Hats off buddy. Stay blessed. Love to the children. Thank you for giving us a beautiful 80’s.
Wow....how cool is this?? Such a confident young lady and Curt's cool as ever and obviously a proud pop! Made my day with this one!

This is a beautiful classic Kodak moment with Father and daughter. Cherish every moment.I lost my dad 5 yrs ago and miss him dearly, but I know I'll see him again. John 5:28, 29. ❤ He had great taste in music. 😊
Awesome father/daughter bonding. It's "Mad World" - quarantine edition...
P.S. Curt and his daughter have the exact same smile.
When her voice comes in, this song take on new meaning. This has always been one of my favorite songs, and this confirmed it.
When she added her voice, it was SO much richer and sweeter.
Kurt, you must be very proud, and honored that your talented daughter is happy to sing a duet with you. Clearly you are a great role model.
The daughter must be so proud to have a father who actually WROTE such a profound song
I think Roland Orzabal wrote the song
Who Knows what Dramas are running through her little female head?
Going to take the risk, Spike?
I actually didn't realise he wrote it :-)
Pwa pwa
i got one on the way
Daughter has a beautiful voice and taught well by her father. Love the connection between the two👩❤️👨
Gosh, she looks a lot like him! So talented! He must be so proud.
Love this. Phenomenal on so many levels, above all their bond.
Such a great song, but a greater moment to cherish between father and daughter during this time of madness.
And that is forever. I play music with my kids (when they tolerate it :), and its awesome, I’ve even composed a couple of songs with my daughter.
padywac1970 these special times your kids will remember forever.
feel the love. so happy I saw this
and how cool is that !!! singing a song you wrote close to 40 years ago with your daughter ! blows my mind ! I remember the day I listened to that album for the first time and I was like whoa !!! who the heck are these guys !! bought every album thereafter !!!! thank you for this !
I remember the same, bought this album and how it was such a pleasure...I was a teenager in early 80's. I see my same age daughter singing as well (with our tiny french accent!) lockdowned...mad world...
There’s no way that he wrote this song with his daughter. She’s nowhere close to 40 years old. 😉
I remember, they blew everyone away, there was such an desperate sinceruty in their songs that you couldn't ignore.
Don't remember me how old we've got
All the great comments I just read through forgot to mention Diva's guitar playing and singing combination. She's very talented at both, the apple didn't fall far from the tree for sure!
What a beautiful gift to spend TIME w/your daughter & sing w/her!! Such a special experience you two shared. AND THEN...., shared w/the world!
Thank you! 😘😘😘
Absolutely, if there was ever an adorable version of this song, this is it!
When she started singing
I started to cry.
Love this .. Curt is an amazing singer and his daughter seems to have inherited his love of music and has a beautiful voice!

30+ years and this song is going strong. It transcends generations and genres. And a father/daughter rendition to hammer home how wonderful it is. Beautiful.
actually 40+ (released in '82) years
Me: “oh that’ll be some girl he’s teaching” double take “ok she can play..” “Holy Shit that harmony!!!”
That was amazing
