      All these years and you are still salty. You must be devastated after the last match between these two teams. Loser.

    With video today, such a scandal could not normally occur. The 16th Springbok was the referee. What a shame ! How can this be called a victory? Poor French team literally robbed against South Africa in 1995. It seems that in sport France is the subject of special treatment from the referees. I remember this famous France-Germany football World Cup semi- final match in 1982 in Seville... All this is very ugly.

      World Rugby has unfortunately demonstrated that France was indeed disadvantaged by the referee. And the AI noted even more refereeing errors. There is indeed a system that is not healthy. South Africa's victory is not clean because of the referee.

    I've seen Abdelatif Benzzi in a bar (and I'm sure, he's no drink alcool). But I've ask to this guy? Had ou make a try. He said yes , without hesitation. South Africa has to win this tournement. It was a lightseing in the all World. I'm french....

      Kruger also scored a try in the final, but it was disallowed because the ref didn't see the grounding. That's how things were back then.

    Ruben Krueger admitted himself he never scored.
    And 4 tries for the french team, all refused.
    Referee awarded with a $30.000 watch.
    All NZ poisoned before the final.
    Significant number of premature death of former SA players.
    What the hell

      @@strugglingabit There is no source that I can find. Seen a couple references to this and the situation seems to be that the captain of the 95 French side claimed in an interview that Kruger admitted he didn't score in a memoir/book that does not appear to exist.

      Several sources are available including a testimony from Mandela's personal security guard about the AB poisoning. There are also multiple counts of the ref receiving this $30000 watch during the reception after the final by an RSA official.just Google it...pure bribery.

    • @melancholymelon4413
      @melancholymelon4413 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The watch wasn't that expensive and seemed more like a gloating thing from a prick like Luyt than actual blatant bribery, which the referee refused and was disgusted by.

  • @maxg.8039

    The invisible wall... That's how you call the referee? In 1995 that was decided that Springbok should have won in the name of Mandela... In the same way as AB has won in 2011 in New Zealand, McCaw should have been thrown more than once as he spent half of the time offside... Anyway, that's gone.

      I've seen a lot of comments since SAs last win against France referring to this game. There is no way that anyone can say that it was a try. The second camera angle (4:28) clearly shows that he was short of the line.

      Please do not soil the memories of two great clashes between those two great rugby union nations with footy-style whining about officials. The other night's QF was a classic between the two greatest teams on the planet. It was the greatest ever match in RWC history. The 1995 battle is legendary simply because it went ahead. Let us celebrate that. I was privileged to have been in SA supporting England back in 1995. The whole Madiba factor was indeed magical.

    • @zisssssou
      @zisssssou 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@ulfibonkers3205 Be real. The whole "Madiba factor" was essentially an enormous pressure on IRB, referees and opposition teams.
      In 1995, SA pressured the ref and France to delay the match in Durban storm. If the match was cancelled, it would have been "match lost for SA" as SA was behind France in the discipline ranking. The result: 3 tries disallowed for France, 1 "try" scored by Krueger who later admitted he didn't score the try in his biography.... And i won't talk about the food poisoning of the All blacks or Bevan who received a golden watch by SARU president, prompting the all blacks to quit the post-final reception. History never forgets.
      France and South Africa are 2 great rugby nations, the sunday match was superb, but you won't make forget France was the side who suffered the most unfair calls in rugby world cup history. You wont. For France, it's not about whining, it's about to stop being naive, polite and politically-correct with World Rugby and be much more influent in World rugby organisation. Being one of the major force of rugby, France is literally absent from WR board, council, ref comissions. Something needs to change, or the same shit will repeat itself in 2027.

    Ok, France loose the semil final at the 95 RWC, SA won with the help of Zeus and the referee. It was shame, Benazi try was fair..
    But as Benazi said himself ,the loose is not so important as South Africa be united, after all the apartheid the awful era in South Africa History.
    It was a politic WWC, its true but sometimes politic is more important as the sport, and I really think it was really important that SA won the RWC in name of the birth of a new beautiful new nation.
    Long life to the the Rainbow nation...an beautiful example for all Nation in the world.
    All my admiration for the SA rugby team
    Congratulations.

    Such an unconvincing victory remains a questionable victory for eternity. To win thanks to a controversial act of play is to win without glory. It is better to lose with style than to win by arousing eternal distrust. It's sad for South Africa, a great rugby country, but unfortunately its victory is not an indisputable victory. In any case, true rugby fans will not keep lasting memories of this World Cup. South Africa would have been more than capable of competing in the World Cup without the help of referees.
