Making you feel that air of superiority. Now...
They refuse us loans "for other reasons."
Or, they will charge you more for loans because you are Black. Where *now* they will charge you more for your laon due to "various reasons and risks."

I guess what you should probably do, in the absence of being able to stop people from being racist, is to literally just hire a white person who will say they are your trustee to take pictures of everything the realtor shows them to send to you. Then, once you have enough information, you can put all the information necessary to buy the house into the realtor’s online service once they sign the agreement for you to buy it (sending it around as a secure pdf beforehand or just as a letter).
Once the purchase items have been signed, you can ask that hired white person (if there are in-person things to do) to meet with the bankers as your representative to get them to sign onto loan terms based on your income and credit report, then after all that information is done, you can come in to show that you are a real person to finalize the agreement. If they pull out upon you showing up, you have a clear witness via the white person there that they are targeting you specifically because of your race, which is a very easy racial discrimination lawsuit to win (lawyers will be signing up to do this) for which they will settle for likely more than the down payment.

@T TD The author is Richard Rothstein, who is affiliated with the Economic Policy institute. He is also a senior fellow at the Thurgood Marshall Institute of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. In the book Rothstein challenges the conventional belief that de facto segregation is the only kind that Black people still face. He argues that de jure segregation (which fair housing and civil rights legislation was supposed to take care of) is still very much with us in a much more furtive form (Trevor touches on that in the video to some extent). The book is a very interesting read. I recommend it.

That's gentrification my friend. It's apart of the business cycle.
The thing is as the necessary debt to own a home goes up, renters will be priced out, in turn having fewer home owners, due to the lack of passive income and higher taxes.
      Everyone holding onto debt loses.
Those who maintain ownership of assets and wait out the storm will be rewarded.
At the same token, our government isn't really good at raising the minimum wage according to inflation, so many of our unestablished young adults will be struggling to find shelter, food, and clothing.
Meaning many will be dependent on government subsidies. And we know, for some, it's a slippery slope.
Which will result in higher tax liability.

Thank the LAWD we knew where we stood and were able to get the best rates and programs when buying our homes, and extending that knowledge onto other family members who were buying homes as well-keeping them safe from predatory practices. HOWWWWWEVER, I'm about to refinance my home now and am "neutralizing" my home for the appraisal. I'm leaving my snowboarding equipment out and visible in one of my spare bedrooms, I have no pictures displayed. My row of townhouses is all mostly young white females, so I'm good there I think as far as outside perception. I have my zen/meditation area set up with a bonsai tree, huge gong, and a water fountain, so maybe they will think I"m Asian. I'm even thinking of having one of my good-looking white dude friends be home and be "housesitting" for me since I "will be out snowshoeing" when the appraiser comes.
But yeah, we've come so far, and we can avoid some of the unfairness with the right knowledge, but we still gotta ways to go. The Home Whitification industry is needed for real!

@@cross9688 I understand the virus, but can you send examples of this type of widespread racism and oppression happening in the Asian community. I say this sincerely. The only woman I have ever loved was Korean and we broke up because I was hurt that she couldn't say that she loved me to her racist parents - they called me the 'n' word in Korean. Asian and white appears more accepted than asian and black imo. I truly don't know any examples of Asians being excluded and oppressed similar to this reporting and the criminal justice system (which I have dealt with the brunt of until this very day). I'm genuinely curious. How does this happen on this scale in the Asian-American community beyond name calling and disrespect. This reporting is very real and systematic exclusion until this very day. And once again, the virus stuff is sickening, but I still believe black americans get plenty of open racism too.

@joe thomas Except the Founding Fathers made it infinitely clear that USA is NOT a Christian country. In fact, one of the few things I admire about America is that it has one of the only Constitutions in the world which deliberately separates Church and State.
And as a thumbrule, secular/atheist countries tend to be the most developed in the world. One of the reasons America has become the shithole it is now is because it went against the express wisdom of great men like Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, or Thomas Paine, to allow the parasite of Christianity to infect it. The same way Iran went to the dogs as soon as it turned from secularism to Islamic orthodoxy.
It amazes me how, in the 21st century, people still refuse to see that governing a country by the tenets of a Bronze Age superstition inevitably spoils things.

BUT, the concept of separation of church and state was taken from one Jefferson's letters, NOT the COTUS.
That said, religion has always influenced our government. You do realize that Presidents Thomas Jefferson and James Madison both attended non-denominational Christian worship services inside the very chamber where Congress met from 1807 to 1857? It is a long-forgotten fact of history that shows just how far the modern interpretation of the separation of church and state has strayed from the original intent of the founders.
Not only were church services held within the House on Sundays, but, for generations, the Capitol was transformed weekly into the largest church on the East Coast.

I wish you people knew even a quarter as much as you think that you do. But this is what we get when politicians keep gutting our educational budget and refusing to do anything in regards to getting better educational programs into place. Oh and if you want to live in a Christian Nation, there are plenty out there go find one and stop trying to force your religion onto people. Even your Jesus said that was not okay

@@KabirChattopadhyay1991 Sad that you, as most, don't understand what separation of church and state means. It's actually about liberty of conscience, which comes only from a historical Baptist Christian understanding of the Bible. No secularists and no other religion has ever allowed individual soul liberty but here, at the founding of the USA, the Baptists would not allow this nation to be born unless liberty was written into our founding documents. Even so, because this concept of individual soul liberty is so alien to most people, to this very day it must be taught anew and is in constant peril of being lost because of ignorance over it like you possess so proudly. To understand liberty and the Christian fight to spread it throughout the world you must go back to John the Baptist in the river Jordan and the beginning of Christian persecutions by all governments and religious sects to this very day. One can follow the trail of blood through the Dontasts and Petrobrucians by the Great Harlot, Roman Catholicism to the beating of Obadiah Holmes by wicked Puritan heretics in North America. The last inquisitorial murders were stopped in America in the 1700's. It was the Baptists, the persecuted Christians, who made sure that no government could foist any religion or other liberty destroying system upon American citizens. It never meant that Christianity was to be quenched, NO! But ignorant fools have twisted separation of church and state into a tool of liberty stealing tyranny it was meant to protect us from. Why? Because this world hates God and the people of God and therefore hates liberty. It only loves false liberty, the freedom to do wickedly, but hates the liberty of the righteous. Sober Christians know that we will never have liberty on this side. Because of our efforts this nation had the most but it is already gone and replaced with the love of sin.

It's so sad to see racism is still out there like it never left. Sometimes earth just doesn't feel safe.

My husband is white and I am black. Last year when our home was appraised at $130,000 under value, we were shocked. The appraiser did a 180 degree attitude change towards my husband that was stunning once the man saw our wedding photo. We fought it, and things were correct, but we were surprised and a bit traumatized by this event. We were slapped with reality.

The mother of a college friend called a black moving into the neighborhood "block busting". I was appalled.

We will overcome this, it may take an estimated 20 or so years though.

8:02 WOW‼️ I just had my kitchen and other areas of my home renovated. Prior to requesting a home appraisal, I’m going to remove all my photographs from my home, replace them with pictures of my best friend who’s White, and have her stand in for me (“Whitification”). 😃

If the realtors want to discriminate LET them!!! There are affluent minority neighborhoods along the east coast. It's been over 400 yrs. If people don't get it now then it's not gonna happen. Tired of trying to teach people how to act like decent human beings.
