  • The Afrikaners were white people of Dutch origin that settled in the South African region.
In this video we discussed the Nationalist Activities of the Boers and their existence.
In South African History, three major nationalist consciousness existed. They were Africans, Afrikaners and British South Africans.
These three worked very hard to avoid being dominated by others. This led to series of wars and conflicts.
This video explains the Afrikaner Nationalism and the activities of the Boers.

Good general overview. Very basic. It's a much more complicated story. The Boer (Afrikaner) people have fought for survival for centuries against insurmountable odds and many attempts at extermination.

Kindly do your research properly if you tackle such a complex racial group. It sounds like the work of a 6 year old.

Afrikaner and Boers are considered two different "tribes" for the lack of a better word.

Boere (plural of Boer) are Afrikaners who created the two Boer republics and others who trekked out of the Cape Colony seeking independence from Britain.

Take the wood out of your own eyes before trying to take it out of someone else..

I wonder what your aim is here? Because you really don't know my history as a Boer. I am no Afrikaaner. And what you said here is half a truth in other words a complete lie. If we the Boere was really racist as you say we would have , and were able to whipe out the african tribes of South Africa. Full stop. Yet they are overwhelmingly , like in the 1900 the majority. But we Boere chose not to, why?
Keep spreading the hate, we the Boer nation are still very strong today. And we are closely monitoring who is friend and who is our enemy. We the Boere are friends of God, but enemies of the world. Be warned!
    Shalom

Painful narration, really really painful. I can hear that you are well spoken and well educated, I applaud you for that, but wow, slow. I hope you don’t talk to your friends like that.

The Afrikaner history is much more complex than what you are suggesting here. Those who know their history, and those who lived through it, will immediately tell you that your "opinion" on the matter is nothing more than a opinion and stringing together some cherry picked facts hardly captures the truth, or at the very least, the reality of the matter. It is sad to see a picture of Afrikaner woman and children in a concentration camp, shown in this video without you siting those facts... Afrikaner woman & children died in British concentration camps by the thousands, along their black counter parts. Imagine seeing the famous Hector Pietersen photo in a "history" class but not getting any actual information on the subject matter. The history of British concentration camps and who died in them is well documented, as well as the history of Southern Africa, the British taking prisoners to St Helena, Bermuda, India and Ceylon. Before these segregation policies, there was bloodshed on this soil, and all very well penned, something that eluded the Black Africans at the time. Imagine we could open a history book, written by a black man, in a native African language, perhaps Xhosa, about their own history in the southern tip of Afrika, and read about it through the lens of their own peoples... nope we would need to wait well past the 1900's before a Xhosa book was written and surely not about history.
