    Simplest and easiest hands on for this process. Exactly what I had to see. Had my new stereo installed in less than 10 minutes. Thanks!

    I am about to replace the factory unit in my 2011. I’m glad the factory brackets are able to be re used with aftermarket. Thanks for the informative video.

    Thanks for that! our Corolla 2010 stereo only plays through tweeters for the last 2 years. The big speakers in the back were checked and seem to read OK but the guy said there could be an amplifier under front passenger seat with a problem. Is that possible?. I have not started to dig under the passenger seat yet but isn’t the amplifier in the unit itself so when you put a new one you get an new amp? Right? Thank you for the advice in advance!

      Depending on your particular model it is possible that there is an amplifier under the passenger seat. My car is an S or sport model. It did not have this external amp. If you have an external amp I would replace it before replacing the head unit, as the factory wiring will all go through the amp, and if it's not working your speakers will still not work, unless you want to run all new wires to the speakers from the new head unit.

    Evening; I am intstalling the Pioneer 220 radio into my 2010 Corolla. Your video has been really helpful, up to, but not including the wiring. What is the best resource to show me the wiring setup.

      I used the color code that came with my adapter. However, you can search "car stereo wiring color code" on google and find it. You can also search for a Toyota wiring schematic for the stereo and find the connector pinout if you want. The information is on the net.

    Im having a hard time understanding the interface instructions for the axxess. I have a 2010 corolla and is it the power, ground and green/orange cables only? That need to be plugged

    • @myknowledgeguy
      @myknowledgeguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to plug in two wires plus power and ground. The Green/Orange wire to pin 7 and the Black/Green wire to pin 8. These instructions should help clarify things. metradealer.com/files/aswc/ASWC-1_INST_602.pdf

      @@tonylee2554 no I don't remember. I'm sorry I've tried looking it up and can't find the information on color code.

    Using the same set up on the same vehicle. Did you attach any of your "Ground" wires to the vehicle chassis, or did you attach them all to each other?

    • @myknowledgeguy
      @myknowledgeguy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I attached the radio grounds to the wiring harness grounds. So the main ground on the car's stereo harness got the new radio ground and so on. I know the instructions say to run a separate chassis ground but I didn't do it because it's really hard to find a good chassis ground close to the stereo.

      @sunofsotep8265 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@myknowledgeguy Thanks man. I ended up using the chassis to ground the AWSC-1; loosened a nearby bolt, and twisted the wire under its head once around. So far so good.

    Does anyone know if the factory Bluetooth stereo from a 2013 Corolla is a direct fit on a 2011 Corolla without the Bluetooth?

    Did you have to use an antenna adaptor for the aftermarket stereo?

    • @myknowledgeguy

      No it plugged right into my stereo. If you use a different radio you may have to use one.

    Question your steering wheel control working?

    • @myknowledgeguy
      @myknowledgeguy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I got my steering wheel controls to work. It takes an extra box and wiring it up but they do work. I used the Metra Axxess to make them work. Follow the instructions very carefully because it took me a few tries to get them to work.

    ya this video isn't basic enough for m the. the parg where he accidetally skipped the wiring... ya i needed that part. Don't need to know how to use zip ties, need to know which wires go where...

    • @myknowledgeguy
      @myknowledgeguy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      which wire goes where should be with your stereo instructions. They are also usually color coded. Not to mention each installation is going to be a little different depending on the options your car has and your stereo has. Unless you have the exact same everything I had when making this video that information wouldn't do you any good.

    Hi, just saw this video of yours
    th-cam.com/video/NEHa5rj7qBc/w-d-xo.html
    I have the same corolla 2010 LE and I bought the 6.8" Pioneer DMH 2660 NEX stereo. The only problem is the dash kit. The metra dash kit is too big and the scorche dash kit is too small.
    Can it fit without the dash kit by just hooking the side clips from the original stereo?
