- Today I am reviewing this new watercolor kit from Pagos. It comes with everything you need to start your watercolor journey, but, is it any good?

Pros:
Price
36 watercolor paints in a reusable tin
4 high-quality synthetic brushes
12 sheet pad of decent watercolor paper
Nice white gel pen, pencil and eraser
Cons:
Waterbrush bristles are a bit long and diffucult to control
The black pen is not waterproof
Bottom line I recommend this product for anyone wanting to get started in watercolor or for an upgrade from a child's watercolor set. The paints are OK, they will get the job done and shouldn't impede your progress but they are not professional grade. that said, this is a solid beginner kit and for the under $35 price tag, you can't go wrong. The tin, pen, and brushes are worth $35 even after you use up the paint (remember you can buy a better quality tube of paint to refill the empty pans as needed) and there is room to add 12 half pans if you want to customize the kit more. If you already have professional watercolors then this is probably not the kit for you but if you are looking for a gift for a new painter or are wanting to try watercolors on a budget you can't go wrong! amzn.to/3eI4EAi

Excessive consumerism is actually very harmful for the world in general. The consumerist heaven that America is stands on the suffering of millions if not billions of people who are exploited in order for everything to be so cheap in the west. All I want to achieve with this statement is to spread some awareness about this so hopefully one day everyone is conscious of how their actions affect people around the world.
@@BlueStar7496 , most of these less expensive paints are made in Asia. How can Americans buying from Asians be a bad thing for them?

I think this looks like a nice little gift for a young artist. But hopefully someone will let them know ahead of time that that pen isn't waterproof. I hate to think that someone would invest a lot of time and effort into a drawing, just to have it melt away once they take a wet brush to it. 😕 Other than that I think it's a cool idea to include everything like that. When I got my first watercolor set it was for christmas, and I had to wait until after the holidays to try it because my parents only bought the paints and a pad, and the only brushes I had at home were bristle brushes that I would use for gouache. So I think an all inclusive set is a great idea.
Oh and I saw these sold on German Ebay, and there it says in a listing that they are made in Vietnam. No idea whether this is accurate, but it's what it says.
The black pen looks liken a Faber-Castell Pitt artist, doesn't it? The box wasn't really sealed, so I'd probably sneak one of those in, if I gave this box to someone as a gift :)
@@LunaBianca1805 Yes, the FC Pitts only have a nib on one side, but other than that, they definitely are kind of similar. They'd look right at home in that box. I think switching them out would be a great idea. I'll remember that in case I'll ever get this box for anyone.

Love this format of unboxing and review. Just the accessories in that kit look like worth the money, and those paints look pretty equivalent to many of the budget lines. That kitty is too adorable, and shows that they can give good results.

Love all the detailed info on what makes for quality paints- down to the palette- the descriptions don't often tell you if the pans can be replaced. I WOULD NEVER miss your reviews. Even if the product stinks, I learn alot about what makes it bad/ what's missing, etc. Thank you Lindsay! 😊

I love it when you introduce a new product especially watercolours because I can see how it performs close up. I see all different watercolour pallets on Amazon but hesitant to buy and try.

I bought Pretty Excellent watercolours a few weeks back after watching a few of your reviews. Thank you for doing all these reviews, they are very helpful.
Love your kitty painting! I love to see the various brands, both pro and not pro, reviewed. For non-pro/very high quality, I always come back to my Pelikan 24 set, both the transparent #(about $50 for 24 and the opaque (about $15 cheaper for 24.) I just don’t think they can be beat, at least for me. Every time I consider buying a “non-pro/very high quality” set that I see in a review or online, I have to ask myself “why?” When I haven’t gotten close to using up my Pelikan sets AND the quality is so great. You have so many more brands to choose from though and my preferences might be different if I had that large a selection. Thanks!

Great kit for travel and working in a watercolor sketch book. I like the look of the Long bristle water brush.

These look yummy! I think my largest collection of coloring/painting is water coloring mediums! I wonder why?!? Oh my I so want this set!!! We could never get tired of seeing you paint flowers or anything for that matter. :-)
great review and love the cat picture.--the eraser possibly be a 4B eraser. 4B eraser is very good they are made in china and know for cleanly erasing dark pencil like 2b and darker. if it is a 4b eraser it is made of TPR {Alcryn®, Santoprene™) Thermoplastic Rubber TPR is best described as a material which has both the characteristics of rubber and plastic. I have some very small samples I was given if you want one to compare let me know I could send you one.

Thanks for the review! I've watched so many of your reviews that my head starts to swim with all the options. I could use some help in picking a set of watercolors for my creative and artsy niece who is turning 9. She has mostly painted with acrylics but asked for watercolors for her birthday. With this being the first she's showed interest in watercolor, should I start her out on Crayola, Artist Loft, Prang or Creatology? Or are there higher quality paints you suggest? Thanks so much for all of the incredible videos you share with us!

I'm in the market for a big cat's tongue wash brush.. nice but not needing to mortgage my house price range. Considering the Princeton Aqua Elite or Neptune.. I generally prefer a spring in my brush. My current wash is a Velvetouch and I like it fine other than the shape (it's a flat) and I would prefer a bit more absorption. Thoughts? Other suggestions? (I detest Silver black velvets so those are a NO).
I haven't used the cats tongue in those lines but the Neptune are very absorbent.
Please can you do a video with ideas for how to re-use/repurpose gorgeous boxes like the one here? I can’t bring myself to discard such things, but struggle to find fun things to do with them. Thanks

Hey I'm on the road again my question for you I'm hoping you can hit it in your next question answer sessions I am going away for an un predetermined length of time due to a sick parent I've packed my craft stuff and I felt like I fell down a deep dark hole when I did that I felt like I took stuff I needed but I got so caught up into what I felt I had to have if you have any thoughts regarding this type of situation I'm all ears I'm interested in seeing if I use all of it or just how much I'm going to use appreciate your thoughts thanks for the video

Can you wash the bowls you rinse in the dishwasher? Are watercolors toxic?
Yes you can but I usually just rinse them. If a paint is toxic it will have a CL label and be expensive.
