This is not about the Malayalam industry alone. It is rampant in every film industry be it Bollywood, Tollywood or Sandalwood ...Kerala has just shown the way!
Tollywood is rotten to the core. In this Telugu film industry, even top heroines don't survive for more than a decade and that's a stretch. They are always searching for young heroines from other states. It's a serious issue.
Mohanlal proved that he’s the best actor in the country. He used his skills that he had gained by performing in front of the public on stages for drama. Even though he’s a superstar of Malayalam cinema he realized that this is not the time to deliver cinematic thunderstorm dialogues. He rehearsed his speech so well but his voice is shaky. His eyes are looking for a way to get away from the crowd and the lights. Even we can hear him telling his brain that it’s just a show and not reality. He can take pride to be the first movie actor to take hostile questions from the press even though he repeatedly said please spare me from this. But it seems like he never realizes that they themselves are destroying their careers and the industry.
Indian movies have always objectified women and the worst part is the bad songs, item songs and degrading them. there are hardly few movies that bring out the message loud that women are not objects. Indian movies must focus on the basic gender equality and not promoting the scenes that degrade the women in society. action must be taken asap and it should become a lesson for others as well.
Punishment alone will not change this, we must all get better education on how patriarchy works, and us men should also take an active role in stopping this at home and in our friend groups. Until we are able to talk about it among ourselves and grow the spine to call out other men, this will not end. Education is more important to mitigate harm, punishing these "bad apples" alone while leaving r£pists in parliament will not change society
@@rohanxdavis active role at home and in our friends groups?? how, without punishment?? In seventies and eighties Kodambakkam in Chennai was famous as a camp for those who dream to enter Malayalam cenema. Many girls used to get exploited there and finally ended up in immoral trafficking. In those years, girls going for acting in cinima and in dramas were from mainly economically backward background and looked upon in low light and even used to call by nick names. A majority of men filim personalities now under sexual exploitation allegations are from that culture and background. Whereas today a majority of girls who try to excel in cinema field are well qualified and from well to do background. The mistake that the men from the old Kodambakkam cinema culture committed is they continue to maintain their Kodambakkam culture and that backfired.

The problem with you right wingers are that you have to find out some reason to blame the other religion. It doesn't matter what the issue is and what wrong thing it does to the society.
Bollywood movie mafia is way ahead of all this. They have so much money that they can supress such reports into graves easily and enjoy their lives peacefully. They have done it in past and are not worried about any such reports in Bollywood. Coz its a nexus between producers, directors, actors, actresses, music composers, music directors, singers, casting directors, film editors, choreographers, costume designers, music companies, production houses, Mumbai police, CBI, political parties, drug peddlers, underworld, drug mafia, NCB, Media houses, show sponsors, etc. Its a huge network. They are all being paid and commissioned. So nothing ever comes out. No action is taken.
If filmmakers starts focusing on story-driven movies instead of item-songs and masala type movies. This thing will drastically reduce. First people need to change their demands from movies.
you bet. There is no Judiciary will or political will. They just have given the leeway that people can be assaulted, attacked, but the law enforcement and enforcers will look the other way and those who *complain are labelled as trouble makers* thats exactly how developing countries with power and money concentrated in a few hands behave - *still THIRD WORLD* .
We Indians need to stop glorifying and hero worshipping actors once and for all. People here don't understand that a person could be a wonderful actor but a horrible person at the same time.
