A very great lesson. Dating and marriage is different. You could feel your partner is really understanding, supportive, kind, and caring during dating and suddenly they 'changed' after marriage. Another point when the couple decided to marry at a relatively young age, another point when there is children. Marriage is something new, none has experience in it. A great boy/girlfriend might not be a great husband/wife.

People these days like to make everything so complicated. Other alternative of marriage is just living together...but still people have problems with this. See? The problem isn't the institution or way a couple want to be categorized.. it's the expectation every person has about marriage/living together...the biggest problem of humans is we just ASSUME the opinions of others, we ASSUME the feelings of others, it's a communication problem.
I have learned A LOT about couples, marriage and divorce with my sister and my mom...I have never been in a relationship but I like to analyze everything. Relationships aren't harsh or a burden...we just don't wanna accept all humans are different and if you don't wanna deal with the differences of this person just separate/divorce isn't the end of the world. If you wanna deal with all these differences so find ways to understand each other. Not everything is black or white, when we think we aren't doing something wrong...we might be hurting someone we love...and all this due humans don't like to talk and finding a solution, because that means work in past traumas, analyze our own behaviors, etc. and that requires patience and time.
@@mel_zzz_ I agree with you and I have not really been in a relationship but analyze marriages and relationships so I can learn what to do and what not to do. It takes 2 to tango. I don’t like to divorce if I ever marry unless it gets really bad to the point of no return. People these days give up too easily and want to divorce over every little thing. It is sad how people treat not just marriage but divorce too lightly. It takes a lot of effort from both sides to have a blissful and happy marriage. One of the traits that I have noticed that really breaks a marriage is taking your spouse for granted. Once that happens everything else goes downhill. I am seeing that with my brothers’ marriages as their wives take them for granted. They endure it for the kids but the marriage is not happy at all. My friend wants to divorce her husband for that reason… basically, all marriages and relationships take a lot of work which includes communication, love, respect, commitment, friendship, tolerance and many other things. Many are just too self entitled these days so it is no wonder many marriages end up in divorce and and unhappiness.
Not seeing and treating your partner as an equal is not the way to have a healthy relationship or marriage. In order for a truly loving relationship, you need to treat your partner with respect and have equal footing. You may have differing roles in life or what you bring to the relationship, but as a person, you need to be equals. Otherwise what’s the point? It just lead to hurt feelings, emotions of loneliness, insecurity and depression as well as a resentment towards one another. Plus children will see this relationship and believe they deserve the same treatment and the cycle continues. Some couple need to break up for their sake, as well as the kids, but some need to talk it through and be more open, understanding and change their mindset when approaching their relationship.

If you are talking about rights, you are right about equality, but that is about it, there are not two equal people in the world, we are all different, we all enjoy, like or dislike different things, getting in a relationship is about give and take, sometimes you do more, sometimes is the other person.

Premarital counseling is something I'm so glad we went through and want for my children. So helpful to discuss who is expected to do what, what things are expected in your view of a wife/husband. So much will come up. So many assume that marriage means the partner will naturally start or stop xyz, but until it's brought up, never mention it, because they assume the other feels the same. Discuss things in practical detail, from time, sex, money, religion, kids, holidays, alone time, what's shared, to lifestyle, etc. It'll help you decide if you're a good fit or ready to marry. I know you can't address it all and marriage is hard (but worth it! Married twenty years to my best friend), but it's a great help in starting life together.
Its amazing how many ppl go into marriage without sitting down and discussing matters such as you pointed out. Its no wonder divorce is so prevalent.
I didn't know pre-marital counseling exist until i saw your comment. It seems interesting and beneficial for marriage life. I wonder what kind of things got discussed during counseling. I have yet to have a partner but i would consider attending one in the future

I don't really know for how long they dated but during the unit she announced she was dating some nugu actor, and to me it didn't feel that long after her marriage with this man was announced. Maybe he pretended to be kinder during their dating days, idk, that's why I think couples should live together for some time first to see how compatible they are.

I'm so sad for her, she almost committed su!cide. T-ara and Areum could have been so big, her career was ruined and I can't imagine how hard it must have been for her.
Their relationship got worse, it was reported about 4 hours ago that Areum has been rushed to the hospital after a suicide attempt.

I always found it weird how couples dont talk about serious topics before they get married. you need to talk to your partner before tying the knot so you can see who you are marrying. Ofc people can lie but they show their patriarchal, mysoginistic or other types of bad thinking and behavior in some subtle ways and words. On the first couple of dates with my bf we talked about his view on his partner working, on housewifes, on controling your partner... just his view about so many things. And if I didnt like what I heard I simply wouldnt be with him. (i did and we are 3 years together). he did the same thing, he liked how I view stuff so he didnt see problem in anything. its really not that hard people.

I agree with this and the conversations shouldn’t just be one and done. Me and my partner talk frequently about what we expect in our relationship and because of this we are always operating on the same page. I call out my bf’s behaviors and he does the same with me. We try to understand each others viewpoints and meet in the middle

The CEO of CCM was a friend of their father's, so he personally put them in the company, shoved Hwayoung in T-ARA so she could make a name for herself, and threw the group under the bus to cover the twins' lazy, lying a$$es. But we don't even know what his perspective is, those comments got from Ahreum's perspective, so how is that fair for him. Also, how does hating on her husband and looking only at Ahreum's perspective solve the problem, otherwise the relationship will never be healthy in this way.

Felt sorry for Ahreum! No wonder I haven't seen much of her ig post. Before, several times she changed her ig account or erased some post. She's a nice kid, talented. Just wasn't lucky enough in the past. Hopefully, after whatever happens to her married life, for her to pull through, and to whatever lies ahead! For most of us Queen's, T-ara maybe OT6 always, she's one excemption as an extra member of T-ara that we can accept wholeheartedly! Always wish her the best in health and in life.

I actually watched the show «between marriage and divorce» without knowing the background of the couples, her husband indeed very controlling and not respectful, however she's pretty agreesive and have severe anger management problems as well, if she's with any other men in the show as a couple, they may fight no stop.

I honestly don't think the that marriage ruined her. I mean their relationship isn't healthy, but she went through a lot worse before that as well. Honestly, this video aside, the show itself reveals much more facets to their relationship. The husband does love her and said he would marry her again no matter what. But the way they see things and communicate is different so they are not understanding each other. So we should cheer on them to work on their differences, find back their tenderness towards each other and save this marriage. Don’t just form your conclusion based off this one video that picked the juiciest things to highlight.

Omg! I feel so bad for her. So many bad luck, unfortunate experience which brought up lots of depression from T-ara time. Now, that I learned about this even sadder. I was hoping she has a better normal life since her career was unsuccessful. It's also not good to fight in front if her kid. I hope they both reach a mediation. The show most likely show more of Ahreum perspectives so it might seem like she had suffered a lot, but we don’t know a lot about her husband’s perspective, so it might not show how he also had suffered. So please don’t say anything bad about Ahreum or her husband without knowing the full story.

I never even listened to her and just randomly got the news that she tried to kill herself. I looked her up and her story is abolutely insane! Her Ex beat her in front of their child. She made countless photos with her body bruised in all kinds of places. I hope that guy can never see his children again.
I think they got married because she got pregnant, because there in South Korea it is frowned upon to get pregnant without being married before, I don't think they got married because they really loved each other (maybe they did love each other a little, they felt mutual support and they thought it was love but it wasn't, it's just my opinion 👀) because if that were the case they would not treat each other in that uncomfortable way and even less discuss in front of their baby!
Trust me, Marriage changes you after having a baby together. Me and my husband was loving dubby from the start but after having a baby, everything changed, me and him became toxic to each other, theres no love in the marriage no more.

It's not just South Korean men to be exact, it is with everyone especially Asia. Okay so my friend from Hong Kong has Chinese mother and Indian dad. His parents divorced when he was pretty young. And the fact that it was a love marriage, their love turned sour so soon. I met my friend's mom and she said the same that we shouldn't have rushed and got married. And to top of that have a kid in the first 2 years of marriage. It didn't work out between them and trust me my friend's parents fight a lot even now. His dad is our stereotypical no nonsense dad with little to no emotions for his son. And I don't think his mom cares until and unless it's time for Chinese New Year's and he has to go back to her. This saddens me a lot.
It just depends as my sister in law’s parents were in an arranged marriage and had 8 kids. They had their first child when she was 21(she married at 20) and they have been happily married for 60 years now. Their oldest daughter married at 21 as well because she was pregnant but she is still happily married to this day. Therefore, it just depends..

Marriage is like that, there is up’s & down. You need to pick up yourself and be willing to work it out or else everybody will get a divorce. We outsider can’t judge of other relationship. Hope they can work it out & grow to be better in handling problems coming their way.
As long as she doesn't try to make him stay with him because otherwise she'd hurt herself I wish that she'd find her happiness soon enough. Couples fight and it's just how you should tell your opinions from time to time
I watched the episodes and all I could think is that he is an awful person. She expresses how she feels and problems she went and is still going through and her husband instead of giving support responses with answers like "go deal with it yourself and come back when you figured it out". Also, he seems to think that her only purpose is to cook and take care of the baby, the way he dehumanises her is beyond words.
I think we should take this with a grain of salt. It is a TV show so I'm unsure how exaggerated it is on both sides. The show doesn't exactly present either as the "right" partner, they both are very feisty. I think it doesn't help that he's overwhelmed and depressed at work, while Areum can't continue doing what she loves rn because she's a stay at home mom. They both need some purpose outside their family life to help ease the tensions. A lot of time when people feel trapped and hopeless the only place they can express that is at home and it can manifest into toxicity. I wish them both well regardless of whether they stay married or get a divorce!

For non celebrity also in the beginning of relationship, it's all beautiful and your couple will said that we understand each other, we motivate and lift up when one of us is feeling down, hey hey wait till you get married and hv kids, they will grow tired with each other. Even without kids, if there is a middle person that appears to stir up the relationship, there is the big test for both of you. Many people fail it.
She was my bias and after seeing so many setbacks and how she struggled with mental health that she lost 11kg on The Unit survival program to look slim, and now this? 😔

More people thinking about marriage need to get premarital counseling, people can be very deceiving and you may think you know everything about a person but reality could be something different, not to mention a lot of people have different traumas that some of us are living with without help, her career being an example, a lot of people look for love to be the answer to mental health and it's not realistic. Counseling should be a must and should have been a must for both of them and hopefully they get it. I don't want to take sides because I'm sure it's more then just the husband is controlling, they both need help and need to work on themselves for the sake of their love and their child.
Marriage is work. That's why you need to find a partner who be able to work and cooperative. Not only say I love you so much or I feel comfortable with him/her, or he serious with me.. Lol

@@cjoyce017 Hwa joined in 2010 almost right after T-Ara debut in 2009.. we saw her with T-Ara x Davichi collaboration "We Were In Love". Areum was added in 2012 and by that time T-Ara had already been one of the top girl bands and noone needed Areum..

Having listened to the story it seems both parties are at fault here. While I understand how Areum must have felt being mistreated by her husband who she had learned to lean on while dealing with her mental health issues, it all so sounds like he had a lot dealing with as well when he mentioned "employee stress" and how he also considered doing the unthinkable. This may be an over simplification but I think Areum was wrong to totally lean on him, instead of dealing with her core issues. Every message she wrote was about him supporting her and loving her and while that might have staved off her feelings it didn't fix the core problem-her mental health issues. So she should have sought professional help maybe, take time for herself and dealing with that. He on the other hand seemed like he was getting frustrated with her dependency and her emotional instability- her always asking for a divorce when there was a problem and so forth. It can be draining and I think he was also struggling with himself. And maybe his emotional needs were not being met in place of hers. They have a child together so I am especially glad that they are willing to come together and discuss, to seek help and to try again. But I just feel like two people make a marriage and so both parties should bear the responsibility, it's wrong to put the blame entirely on one person and say they are at fault otherwise it won't work.

I'm sorry but everytime I hear and see couples appear to fight or have arguments that is set as a "reality" show, I just feel very cringe about it. We did get a bit of his side of things, he said that she calls for divorce when the tiniest problem appears. It's also not the way to go in a marriage. For all we know she could be hysterical and dramatic. Being conservative and patriarchal doesn't necessarily mean he mistreats her, but it could mean they are not a good match for each other.
