Technically speaking, Gazef never saw Ainz in action, he waited until Gazef was out of action to deal with the Sunlight Scripture and to top it off Ainz lied and told him that he only scared them away, although Gazef didn't really believe it.🤓
Also, Gazef never met Sebas, only heard of him, and even if he had seen him there would be no way to make a connection with Ainz.

The king thought by sending his son to Carne village he would keep him safe from the war on the Katze plains, and the prince thinks if he hurries to Carne village he can wrap things up in time to make it to the plains in time for the battle. So many death flags raised this episode, how many do you think will make it to the end of this season? If Based had talked to Momon do you think he would recognize Momon's voice as being the same as Ains? Climb was an orphan living on the streets so his early lack of nutrition probably lead to his stunted growth plus he is way younger than Gazef and Brain.

Gazef never saw Ainz fight but knowing he repelled the Sunlight Scripture is enough to warrant Gazef's admiration.

Death Knights is the Big Threat that has kept the battleplains from being settled or built on. Anyone they slay becomes an undead knight. A single DK has nearly destroyed kingdoms in the past. And Ainz casually summons up an army of them. :)

I think part of the problem with Gazef asking to relinquish E-Rantel, it that the city and its surroundings are "owned" by the King. E-Rantel is also a Fortress city that is central to the King's ability to gather armies and defend the nation. The nobles each control their own lands, so Gazef is openly asking his king to give up a portion of his political power which effectively strengthens the noble factions that oppose him.... Quite an unusual request from the guy that is supposed to protect the king. Some of the Nobles do support the Kingdom (and the King) but the opposing noble factions still hold enough influence to fracture the nation.
I think the King never really had a choice. He either loses the power to hold the kingdom together, or he fights (and probably loses the people who hold the kingdom together).

Guys, Ainz avoids to see real warriors like Gazef or Brain since Clementine in the first season realized that he can't fight or use martial arts, also it is shown before the last battle of the last season, that while impersonating Momon in presence of Gazef, he uses a lip bug like the one Entoma uses, because Gazed can recognize his voice as Ainz under Momon's armor

For future events keep in mind that the anime portrays the king and the kingdom in a much nicer way than they actually are.
They are actually a kingdom that is so corrupt and bad that the protectors of humanity deemed it irredeemable and planned to get rid of it and let it be concquered by the empire to make a clean cut to reform it.

    • @herpderp7114
      @herpderp7114 ปีที่แล้ว

The anime has portrayed the kingdom in the very same light as the LN, though. With the bickering nobles, the crime ring, corruption and drug problems. The king isn't a bad guy either, he's just a bad leader.

    • @seynoonrae

@@herpderp7114 You have missed a lot in that case, surface level reading at best.
This is a nation that had rampant slavery with nobles and royalty turning commoners into slaves willy nilly and it took two of the kings children to start changes into those things.
The reason eight fingers was so powerful and had nobility and the crown prince backing them was because they kept alive what those guys were used to.
It took Zanac and Renner to influence the king enough to start changes, so all of it happened for the majority of the Kings life and rule without him trying to change it.
Remember that the royalty and nobility factions are a fairly recent thing in that kings rule.
Now what the manga and anime never showed how exactly the kingdom fights wars.
The have barely any realy standing army, the cities have guards and the king and nobles have a handful of troops.
They also don't have magic casters in high regard unlike the Empire and the Theocracy.
When it comes to war they forcefully conscript commoners from the cities and villages, until they have like 3-4 times as many troops as whatever their enemy has.
Most of those commoners don't have real armor or weapon's.
They will then fight until they have perceived they have won, regardless of how much more troops they have lost compared to their enemy.
The Empire knows this and that is why they engage the kingdom each year.
Those that remain in the villages and cities are in the time of war and afterwards simply forced to make up for the loss of work force.
The empire uses this trick to cause food shortages and further bleed the kingdom.
The slane theocracy are the protectors of humanity as without their influence it is believed humans would have been eradicate at the time of the story.
Yet without actually having anything against Gazeff they planned to eradicate him believing his death would accelerate the fall of the kingdom to the point the empire could take over and in turn save the majority of the humans.
The theocracy belives the kingdom to be unsavable at the point were the story starts.
The kingdom is outright despotism with the royalty and nobility having been able to arbitrarily turn commoners into slaves whenever they want.
Education, magic, personal freedoms and what not were the worst of all the human nations in the Overlord world.
All of the shit people had to go through happened under that king and aside from appointing Gazeff as his head warrior he did nothing to change any of those things until Zanac and Renner started to influence him.

@@seynoonrae What are you on about you muppet. Almost all of what you talk about is quite literally shown in the anime. There's obviously some detail that isn't clearly spelled out but that's part of the medium. There are also some details that are cut, hardly surprising considering there are huge cuts with how few episodes were given to each arc.
Point is, that regardless of the missing detail or non-obvious details, the impression you get about the kingdom from the anime and the impression you get from the LN is the same. The LN does not portray the king as someone different from the anime either. He's not secretly evil or worse than he is shown to be. He is incompetent and he loves his awful shithead of an eldest son, just like he loves his other 2 children.

There is a lot of evidence that there were players who have come to this world in the past. (Including the fact that they use game magic and occasionly items from the game are seen etc). It is uncertain of there are any players apart from Ainz currently alive though. 🤔

So the enemy does a terrible job with depicting how powerful Ainzs army was. He didn't just use death knights. He had them riding soul eaters. Which of these undead half horse dog things that are one of the most feared undead in this world. In the past there was this half human City in between the slane theocracy and the kingdom. Two soul eaters spawned in that city. They killed everyone in the city to the last man, woman and child. Several hundred thousand at minimum. And this army that ainz brought had 500 death knights riding on top of 500 soul eaters. One thing to keep in mind is that death knights have a passive ability that anyone that they kill turns into a squire zombie. There is no known limit on how many squire zombies a single death knight can control. The kingdom is bringing over 300,000 soldiers. These soldiers are less than ants to a death knight. I'm just going to leave that thought there.

well since you keep questioning wether somone's a human or not i might as well tell you. keep in mind this is from the author, not the books. there are NO humans in the new world, at all. many years before players arrived to the new world all humans were hunted to extinction by the dragons, whoever survived were killed by demi humans. it is unknown why dragons wanted to ecterminate the human but they did. later they started attaking races that resembled humans, the current "humans" are, in fact a race of demihumans that can reproduce with humans, its why they all look so similar to each other. whae tha six great gods arrived they mistook them for humans and saved them. the demi humans then pretended to be humans and later told their children that the'r humans. nowdays no one remains who rememmbers the truth. any "human" with a different hair or eye color has Player ancectry.
