Speaking of the goblin’s situation, there was no direct explanation. But it all boils down to Ainz's assumption about hidden conditions. There were several prerequisites. Enri became the head of the village, that is, the land that needs to be protected appeared under her responsibility. She was on good terms with the goblins. She gained commanding skills, so she was able to use them to protect the goblins from the bargest attack when they were saving a small goblin in the forest. So, either one of these, or several factors at once, activated the hidden effect.

@dmmpg While I do not know the specifics of how the item works, since I'm an anime only enjoyer for overlord. I'd guess that it has to do with the specific combination of factors being fairly unlikely for a subpar result.
While, an army of 5k Goblins is pretty impressive in the new world. In Yggdrasil, it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal to mow them down. And for the conditions to even get that result, you probably need a combination of Leadership related skills, a goblin related skill or class (maybe something like a goblin chieftain?) and the right summoning circumstances.
After all it seems like no one, or at least none that were well known got a result that was even comparable in the game, based on how Ains reacted to the army. Otherwise, he would have probably known about the conditions. So it is either so unlikely that it didn't happen, or was kept secret by the few that managed something close to that scale.

you are right. in books is stated that enri has now commander skils. and the previously used goblin horn still is in the effect becouse the goblins are still alive.
so tree conditions has been met :
      1. time between summons
2 proeviously used horn is still in effect
      3 enri has commander skills.

    • @ShadeOnTheUtube
      @ShadeOnTheUtube 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +24

@dmmpg This is no longer Yggdrasil, that's the first explanation. As Ainz explained in this episode, in the game it only summed at most 25 goblins. Which matches roughly what Enri summoned the first time she used it. Its not explained in the show, but its probably a mix of Enri passively levelling up and rising to a position of power while being regarded extremely well by the goblins that serve under her. Basically, this new reality has altered a once worthless item into a very powerful one, if you meet the unspecified conditions.

    • @Red_Valentine
      @Red_Valentine 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

@dmmpg the game clearly had BS hidden effects
Like how His guild mates put ALL their materials in 1 vault/safe space
They come back to add more to the pile and it all somehow fused together to create a Hidden World Item
They got a World Item completely by accident. 😅

    • @aeonise
      @aeonise 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +28

@dmmpg 1) This makes perfect sense in context of what we know about Yggdrasil. The players had to figure out how everything worked for themselves, secrets (places, items, even classes) were everwhere, and the devs cared less about trying to balance things than about making fun and interesting things.
      2) Even the secret army effect would be nearly worthless in conflicts between max-level players and have zero balance impact. The casters used 3rd-tier spells, so we can infer the army is made up of troops around the level of upper-class adventurers (Mithral or Orichalcum ranked, so below level 30) or maybe a little above. Even if they were somehow all level 50, that's not enough to even scratch level 100 players.
      3) It being considered a trash item makes perfect sense for why nobody learned of this effect. Players wouldn't spend much time at a level where the item's normal effect was of any use, so they quickly discarded the "useless trash item". Nobody ever spent the time necessary to meet the secret requirements.
      4) Of course it wasn't rare or expensive (at least in Yggdrasil; different story in the NW). It was a trash item, and Momonga only had the horns because he was a notorious item-hoarder.

32:35 Don't forget Momonga's first instinct was to ignore the village being attacked. He watched Enri's mom and dad get murdered and was watching Enri and Nemu being chased, and it was only when he looked at Sebas and thought of what Touch Me would say that Momonga decided to go save them (and even then he was using it to experiment with his magic and skills).
I don't think he's really changed much since then. The main thing is he lost that natural connection to humans when he got isekai-ed. He doesn't automatically consider any kind of creature worth saving or not. However, he can still form bonds with people and feel things for them (Swords of Darkness earlier, Nemu recently, and a few characters yet to come). It's just that anyone he doesn't have a personal connection to doesn't automatically get any consideration any more.

So the horn was considered a trash item in the game bc it just summoned a small group of low lv goblins. The game actually had a lot of hiden features and during it's time running many weren't discovered. It's theorized that that horn had that intended feature, it's called the "Horn of the Goblin General" for some reason and Enri just manage to fullfil whatever requirements it needed to summon the army.

She put levels into the General and Commander roles by running the village and ordering around a small troop of goblins so the next time she blew the horn she was able to summon a whole army. Now she has the third strongest military in the world after Ainz and the Slane Theocracy who we have only seen a small amount of, she could actually invade and destroy the kingdom herself if she desired that kind of power lol. Also, the red head you forgot the name of (Britta, I think?) retired as an adventurer after the trauma of coming up against Shaltear. She figured herself lucky to survive that mess, and doesn't want to push her luck any more. She probably retired to the safest place in the world, even though it doesn't seem like it.

The horn was called the horn of goblin general. A flashy name for a trash item which only summons 20 low level goblins. The name actually suggests that there is a hidden effect for these horns. Usually if any player used it in the real game they would not care for it and would probably trash them after using them so normal players won't be able to get to the hidden effects easily.
But Enri cared for these goblins. She treated them well, named each of them. The loyalty of the goblins was raised a lot. And she also leveled up her commanding abilities. Its not clear which of these helped her to meet the conditions, but they did. This enabled her to summon the army and become the goblin general.
Fun fact, Carne village became the 2nd/3rd strongest military in the nations surrounding Nazarick, after gaining this army. This army could crush both the Re-Estize Kingdom and Baharuth Empire if they want

I am going to directly quote the light novel for the horn:
"In Yggdrasil, players were able to name their own items save for a few exceptions. One of them was artifacts, which were dropped as completed items. The artifact Goblin General's Horn...This item summoned 19 goblins in all. But the goblins were, to Yggdrasil players, mobs so weak that they were practically useless. So why did an item like that get such a grand name with 'General' in it? Many Yggdrasil players wondered the same thing. But no one ever came up with a satisfactory explanation; everyone had just kind of accepted that it was a strange name. But actually, there was a reason for it. And that reason was quite simple. Its true power wasn't to summon nineteen goblins. In Yggdrasil, no one had to manage to put its actual value on display, so it had been discarded as a junk item. In this other world, however, it unleashed its true power for the first time...Its real power, if used when three conditions were met, was...."(chapter ends with ellipsis, next chapter is the goblin army appearance with the role callings and explanations on what each unit does)

As a lot of people have already stated the Goblin army summoned by Enri is now one of the most powerful fighting forces in all of the New World. She leads one of the strongest armies and is an ally to Ains, so there's that!
But to specify, the goblins she originally summoned are an average level of around 10, which is pretty decent, Jugem is 12. The Rank and File goblins in the Army were stated to be as strong, or even stronger, than the original goblins, so we can safely state that from the regular corps, their levels are around 10+, that's the Infantry, the Longbowmen, Magic Support and Bombardment.
The special divisions are even stronger than that, the Paladin and Beast Rider corps have very few members, around 17, and one of the paladins among the Paladin Corps is said to be the second strongest paladin in the region, so we can assume these guys levels are at least 20+, closer to 30.
The Assassins have very little known about them, but the redcaps are specifically stated to be in the early 40 level ranges, so 40-43, by contrast Gazef was estimated to be around level 30.
Now compared to the average human soldier Prince Barbaro was considered a decent warrior, probably a bit stronger than most regular soldiers but he was also noted to be considerably weaker than Climb, who is around level 16. So it's safe to assume Barbaro is only around level 10 at most, this means most of the Kingdoms soldiers are sub level 10, mostly around 6, 8 tops, which makes sense seeing as it took around 4 of them to even land a hit on Jugem who is level 12.
So to summarize, the /weakest/ of Enris army are considerably stronger than the average Kingdom Soldier, better equipped and led too, and she has several dozen members of her army that are on par or considerably stronger than Gazef, the strongest soldier in the entire Kingdom!
On top of all of these fighter corps there's also a Medical Corp, and a Rear Echelon Support that contains A Weather Forecaster, the Strategist, a Blacksmith for gear maintenance, and a Trapper to hunt game to feed the army. All in all this is just how serious that army really is, as it's not even nearly made clear enough in the anime that this is the case!!

the goblin army introduces itself in the LN exactly 1:1 like it does in the anime. with each troop part swearing its loyalty to enri and stating how it will crush the enemy etc.
there is an explanation to an extend in the LN, but its a bit disjointed there, from what remember.
the thing is when your summon the goblin with 1 horn only 19 low level goblins appear, but they stay indefinitely around, they have no time limit on them.
they need to be around for a certain amount of time without loosing one of them.
    and you require a base.
ergo - you cannot be a general without an army.
enri also seems to have gain various level through out her time as leader of the pack, gained passive level through them killing stuff probably and gain leader and general ranks from that, which also may or may not established her as qualifed to summon the full might of the goblin army.
    tl;dr
    >summon scout party
    >keep em all alive for a certain amount of time
    >have a base/place you rule over
    >gain exp, skills and qualification to summon the rest of the army if use another horn.

The horn of the goblin general was a special item disguised as a trash item. You had to reach maximum friendship level with goblins to unlock it's full potential, something nobody ever bothered with in the game so nobody ever discovered it's hidden potential.
Also, Beta's last comment is her comparing herself to Solution, because Solution is the single most accompliched pain artist among the pleades maids.
Since she's a slime, she absorbs her victim, then keeps them alive while digesting them *very* slowly.

Enri has the passive Commander, Sergeant, and General skills. Her skills allow her to gain experience every time one of her units engages in combat. She can also issue units that trust her commands they innately follow - like when she told the goblins to "duck" several episodes ago. Ainz believes that one of her skills somehow enhanced the Goblin horn and allowed her to summon an entire army vs. a small troop of 20. Also, that army can allegedly conquer the entire kingdom by itself.

11:36 that red hair girl, aka the potion girl, is named Brita and she is not one of the 4 being protected. Those are Nfirea, Lizzie (Nfirea grandma), Enri and Nemu (Enri little sister). It is a bit funny seeing Brita just there with the village people since she has more design and stuff but honestly considering what she saw I can understand her choosing to just live in a small village and not try to keep her adventure job after having narrowly escaped Shalltear on season 1.
Also about Ainz if you can't provide something useful to Nazarick he is pretty much neutral if you die or not. If you offend or hurt people from Nazarick or whoever he put protection on the guild's name he will throw the worst out there without remorse. Remember he is an overlord, an undead creature, even though he has part of him that is human he does feel different, as we can see when he says he doesn't seem to feel anything from seeing humans dying.
Clementine did kill the adventure group he went around in season 1 and specially Ninya, magic user of the party who is also Tuare sister, so Clementine did had it coming a bit but Ainz also managed to learn a lot from Clementine about Martial Arts and even though he says he didn't care about her killing the group he eventually admits to being a bit of a hypocrite himself. He learn a bit from time with the group and was expecting to learn a bit more once Ninya was going to look for information for him in town.
Also when he goes to face Shalltear he tells the other people if you try to go there you will die, because since dealing with Shalltear meant Nazarick information could leak and even hurt Nazarick as a whole any adventurer that tries to come together with Momon to deal with the powerful vampire was going to die. Why he says as Momon he had a way to deal with the vampire and he alone would be enough. Any fool that insists on going or try to sneak to see what happens would die. Not by Shalltear but by Ainz himself in order to protect Nazarick, as we see Mare killing the guy before Ainz confronts Shalltear in season 1.
The Lizard Men for Ainz was an experiment in order to create undead, to check if their bodies would make stronger undead compared to human bodies. To him at the time he was able to confirm that the NPCs can learn and grow with Cocytus which was a win for him of the situation, even with the lost the army he gave Cocytus had. And if not by Cocytus and Demiurge convincing him to experiment with governing the Lizard Men without fear for the future he would have been completely fine exterminating them all there.
Basically as long as you can show to Ainz your value to Nazarick he will mostly stay neutral about things if not favorable. If you give him reason to he will not have mercy at all no matter what race or kingdom you are. So to him, the kingdom attacking the village, as long as the 4 important people don't die and the information about the potion experiments don't leak is a completely fine lost of life that he wouldn't commit efforts to save.

Its not really that Ainz doesn't care about the village. He values, more than the village, the people he "knows". Nemu, the little girl - sister of Enri, got added to the list of people to protect because he got to "know" her. The other people on the list were Enri, Nphirea and the Grandmother - all people Ainz got to talk to and "know". The adventurer party that Clementine killed were people he got to "know" that's why he got angry. He only cares about people he gets to meet, talk to and get to know well.

She has job classes: Farmer Lv1, Sargent Lv1, Commander Lv2, General Lv2 It is mentioned that in the beginning of the story she only had Farmer and Sargent jobs, and gained the other classes after Ainz saved her. So, some elaborations:
The plan to visit Carne Village wasn't by Prince Barbro, it was a suggestion from Duke Bouloupe(spelling might be inaccurate). Because said Duke is one of Barbro's backers and wants him to ascend the throne of the Kingdom. So he suggested what /should/ be a relatively safe and harmless mission, which Ramposa (the king) agreed to because he doesn't want his son to fight on the main battlefield.
The idea was simply to go there, have him ask about Ains and then make his way back but of course Barbro in his infinite wisdom managed to fuck that up. Not only do the villagers owe a debt to Ains (who essentially saved them twice) but the villagers also felt betrayed by the kingdom, since they would have been slaughtered if it wasn't for Ains being there in the first place. So on the first sign of agression (even if it was meant as a mere warning) all that flipped into deciding they'd have to fight.
Unfortunately Barbro or anyone else could've never known about the fact that Enri would be able to summon an army for 5000 goblins.
Now, regarding the Horn of the Goblin General.
Yggdrasil, the game Ains used to play, was actually poorly explored even up to the moment the servers were supposed to shut down. I don't recall if there was an exact figure to it or not but imagine something like only 30% of the games content being found out and known. (That number isn't really meant to be accurate just to give a reference.)
The game developers added a lot of hidden effects and abilities that could only come to fruition with specific character builds, like having certain number of levels in a class and mixing certain kinds of classes together. Which is why most of the stuff never really got a time to shine. Especially an item that was regarded as "trash" by all players.
In game the horn did summon a number of goblins to fight for the user but they were low level and they had a timed duration and would disappear after a while. So there was never a reason for anyone to bother with it. They'd have quickly outleveled the goblins and investing anything into temporary helpers just wasn't worth it.
However, the New World removes the timed life of the goblins. Just how it removed the timed life of a number of Ains summons that would have a timed life too.
This allowed Enri to gain skills about commanding, allowed her to foster a good relationship with the goblins and even be the head of a whole village. All of that together and boom. The horn doesn't summon 20 basic dudes but a whole army.
Lastly about Britta, the potion girl. After her run in with Shalltear at the end of Season 1 she pretty much decided to retire from being an adventurer and decided to settle in Carne Village. Because they needed new people to replace the ones that had died at the beginning of Season 1 plus it helps that she has some adventure experience for the training of the militia.

for the game only 30% of the 9 worlds where explored before shutting down, it is unknown how much hidden content was left to be discovered because there where over 700 races and over 5000 job classes to choice from. as far as i'm aware the horn of the goblin general never had a time limit before the goblin disappeared but the goblins wouldn't be over lvl 20 and you could get too lvl 100 in less then a week. though there was a time limit on Ainz's summon in the game and in the NW however if Ainz sacrifices a soul (corpse) for his undead summon they no longer have a time limit. the reason why the goblins were trash and no one spammed them would because of nullifications if you didn't do either amount of x-damage, you weren't at x-lvl, x-weapon weren't high enough (not magical not enough data), or x-magic attack wasn't pass a certain tier it would do 0 damage. lets take Ainz for example, Ainz has high-tier nullification which if the person isn't lvl 60 (or was it 70) and they did a physical attack they would do 0 damage, if they did magic at the 6th tier or lower they would do 0 damage, finally if the weapon the person is using isn't magical enough 0 damage. Now lets use shalltear as an example, shalltear nullification is base on how much damage you do so no matter how high the magic you use if it doesn't do x-damage then it would do 0 damage regardless of tier, same applies do physical attack and weapon's magical properties.

this is something you miss when you don't read the light novel.
after every chapter, the author makes these stats sheets for the featured characters of the volume.
When Enri blew the first horn, she gained the job of "sergeant" and as she worked with them, she unknowingly advanced in her job gaining a level in commander and then a level in general.
she did what none of the Yggdrasil players did, kept their goblin alive and became a general of goblin.
so the "horn of the goblin general" when blown by a goblin general, it produced an army rivaling that of what the general is facing.

    • @zmortis111
      @zmortis111 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Bit of explanation for the goblin army.
Enri used the "Horn of the goblin general" in which she got 2 of them from Ainz when he saved her and her little sister.
It's first use sounded like a little toot from a child's toy and summoned a handful of low level goblins that she could command and use.
In the game, the players mostly used this as exp farms (though only at the start when the player is still low leveled) and considered it to be a trash drop item since it can easily be trumped by basic summoning magic or other summoning items or skills.
What nobody knew was that for the horn to show its true effects, 3 conditions must first be met. Once met, the horn will actually sound like a war horn and summon the army seen.
In the light novels it was never really explained on just what these 3 conditions were, so not even Ainz knows how to show its true potential. However there are some theories suggesting that you need to have commander levels, be in good relations with the first goblin group summoned, and finally ask for goblin aid "which she did just before blowing the horn".

Not quite sure you remember season 1 properly. He got very angry at Clemantine because he killed all the weak adventures, yes. But mostly because it wasted all the effort he had done to get his name out there (as the dead can't talk). The only one beyond that was maybe the girl, because she had been a little helpful to him (something he repaid in season 2 by helping her sister Tsuare). Not because he was still controlled by human morals.
I agree season 1 was a slightly different Ainz, but that was mostly because everything was so new and he was being willful. Even back then, he didn't particularly feel a need to go save the village, he was just doing a lot of reminiscing about his Guildmates and them not being here with him, so he chose to do something in the spirit of Touch Me.
He hung out with the townsfolk and weak adventures because he was caught up in willful roleplay in a new world, getting away from his still newly uncomfortable situation in Nazarick being treated as Supreme.
End of Season 1 and later Ainz is a bit different because of the Shalltear incident, it was a huge wake up call that those who represent those he cares about are not just in a causal game anymore, but could possibly realistically die. He lost a lot of his willful roleplaying and not-a-care-in-the-world side to him that was the main carry over from his human drive, and at least tries to look more big picture and potential threats, and this is reinforced by the NPCs and Nazarick having more cohesive direction (even if Ainz often doesn't understand the real reasoning for actions).

This was hinted at during the barghest fight where Enri commanding the goblins to duck gave a similar effect to Demiurge’s power to control low level beings. With Enri’s new class levels, the “Horn of the Goblin General” item was able to be used at a much greater potential. Two primary conditions for the horn to summon a large army. 1) the prerequisite levels of goblin commander. 2) be facing an opponent on the field of battle before blowing the horn. This results in a goblin army being summoned which is scaled to the size of the opposing force. Enri earned the necessary levels of goblin commander after leading the goblins summoned by the first horn.

Well this was quite the episode
3:20 they are near the frontlines of a war, so they probably did want a decently large escort, but it does seem excessive until you remember superhumans exist in this world so you want enough fodder to protect the commanders
6:00 No, she just really won, she is getting super strong by leveling up passively, The goblins are super proud of how strong their leader is getting though
9:40 He doesn’t really see it as a game, he just has no emotional attachment to it and doesn’t care about its people
11:05 yes it definitely did backfire, they are now absolutely more loyal to Ainz than the army of Re-estize
11:35 Yep, Brita(red-haired girl who Ainz gave a potion too) retired as an adventurer and moved to Carne after her party was all killed by a certain vampire
    15:00 Carne declared war
17:15 the trauma that she and all the other villagers suffered at the hands of soldiers is a major reason they decided to fight (even though those soldiers belonged to a different country)
19:30 Enri had passively leveled into the general class, command classes were relatively unpopular in Yggdrasil. The horn apparently had the power to summon an actual goblin army but only under very specific circumstances that even Ainz was unaware of, but Enri had met the requirements by the time this battle took place. It mostly has to do with her skills, though there is 1 requirement we don't know the exact details of so its not impossible there is a more specific circumstantial requirement as well
28:40 The Prince is going to get the personalized attention via a torture session from a werewolf maid. At least is a quicker way to go than if you faced Solution. Poor stupid first prince, his dad was unable to protect him

6:00 Enri has unlocked some advanced classes and titles, that have allowed her to earn levels in Goblin General and Village Chief, just by doing the stuff she would have been doing anyway, so her stats and skills are rising much faster than she realizes. These levels, skills and titles also improve the effect of her summoning horn.

  • @soulofcoal1558
    @soulofcoal1558 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

Its not explicitly stated, but i believe Enri had unlocked a class of 'Monster Tamer' when she first blew the horn and took control. Thats why not only do the goblins she summoned listen and respect her, but so do foreign goblins and even the ogres. Monster tamers grow in power over time based on the monsters under their control. You'll notice that Enri developed some muscles, and while that goblin 'might' have let her win the arm wrestling, she practically threw him in the process. I believe she obtained the strength from bringing the ogres into her control.
The horn's response could be linked to this: the force summoned could be directly proportionate to the level and strength of a monster tamer.

Going by the various things said (both in anime and the LN) there's a good theory of what happened with the army.
The two items she used are called "The horn of the Goblin General". All the new armies also refer to HER as "The Goblin General".
She used the first horn when she was technically a no one, so it summoned a small number of general goblins as we saw and Ainz expected.
Since then however, she's cared for those goblins and also her "summons" have been doing tasks for her earning her XP.
The theory I've heard which makes sense therefore is, while caring for the original group she's been levering up in ranks, from Goblin Summoner, Goblin Commander, and then Goblin General. Since she hit the the unknown criteria to be a Goblin General at some point.. when she uses the second horn - it doesn't do the "trash" effect, but instead summons a full Army of The Goblin General.

Shogun Enri has one of the strongest armies in the world now. So, one thing about Yggdrasil, lot's of stuff in Yggdrasil is designed for class and even race changes. For example, the Horn of the Goblin General allowed Enri to gain levels in the commander class. This was partly because she spent a lot of time leading her goblin troop, and she even added Ogres and some goblins who were running away from the Giant of the East. However, I can't be sure why the second horn ended up having a much stronger effect, but I think it's because Enri was levelling up as a commander.
Ainz is as close to an expert in the Yggdrasil game as you are going to find, but he doesn't know everything. He specialized in undead and death magic after all. Aside from that, he knows a lot about world items and Yggdrasil's arcane magic system in general. However, he probably didn't look into the Horn of the Goblin General too much, especially since he can summon an undead army pretty easily.

Momonga was never a good person from the start. In season one, Momonga only saved Enri and Nemu to appease Sebas in order to repay his debt of getting saved by Touch-Me back in Yggdrasil. He got mad of Clementine for killing the members of Swords of Darkness as they were suppose to spread his name as an adventurer, so he killed her out of spite as he was pissed at her for spoiling his plan.

One of the best episodes of the Overlord series. Glad to see your reaction to this Luke. Keep in mind that i's an insane power up of a background character.
Personally, I always believed, since I watched this episode years ago, that the condition to get the goblin army depends on the charisma/leadership stat of the summoner. Remember how Enri was able to command the goblins during the fight against the big wolf in the forest during the herb gathering mission? Well I think that since she learnt how to act as a commander of the first goblin unit, plus the upgrade in status she got from villager to village chief probably added a bonus to her charisma/leadership stat. Combine all the events that transpired between the first summon and this fight with the army, she probably leveled her stat quite high, thus the 5K goblins bonus. Still it's just a theory that is festering rent free in a corner inside my brain.

about the horn, apologies if some of this was mentioned already: in the game this horn was the only item players could not rename or change the appearance of, this led people to believe it had a hidden effect but nobody ever found out so it remained a trash item that some players (like Momonga) had hundreds if not thousands of. it just so happens Enri managed to fulfil the conditions of the Horn of the Goblin general. this is mostly speculations but the conditions are: 1- must develop a good relationship with the goblin troupe. 2- must have multiple leadership classes (Enri is a sergeant, commander and general) 3- must be a goblin (Enri was adopted by the goblin troupe according to goblin law) 4- blow the horn when facing enemies and then an army of goblins equal to the number of enemies will be summoned. the levels depend on the enemies. P.S. the Red Caps are about level 43 in comparison the strongest humans known in the new world are about level 35-40.

I think it is even more horrifying to think that Ainz/Momonga hasn't changed at all from when he was transported to the New World. He loves his guild members, and their creations, more than anything. Yggdrasil was more real to him than his actual life, and now he will continue to protect it with all the power at his disposal, befitting a very cautious and obsessed person. That's why Overlord is scary and fascinating. Ainz isn't an unfeeling, irrational monster. He is not omniscient or lost to despair. He is careful. He is sometimes comically out of his depth. He loves deeply. And he is the antagonist and evil villain of the world. And we can't look away as the tragedy unfolds.

It seems to me that the effect of summoning goblins with a horn is tied to the mechanics of reputation (in RPGs, a common technique is when a certain number of reputation points from factions \ cities \ races give bonuses to interacting with them) And since Enri constantly "earned" a reputation among the goblins by successfully leading them and treating them as friends, this could either be the reason for the recruitment of such a large army, or one of the conditions for such a call)

    That's a good episode!
1- The prince's plan was actually pretty good. You have to remember, he is royalty. If he draft them into the army and they refuse, it is both high treason AND lese majesty, both punishable by death. In his mind, a small village like them would never dare to oppose him, a prince, and his 4k troops. Since Ainz is asking them to give him that village, drafting them and throwing them against him would be a good plan to show how much of a monster he is.
2- Indeed, Enri is passively leveling up. Well, not exactly, she is actively leveling up, but she isn't realising it. Her new job is commander, each time she gives an order, it gives her exp. Each time one of her subordinates kill something, it gives her exp. Each time she encourage or give a push to her subordinates, it gives her exp. In reality, all of that comes from actions she is taking that goes with her job, she just isn't aware of her job. Also, yeah, he did let her win during that scene... But he didn't have to. He didn't know it at the time, but Enri is actualy stronger than him.
3-It's not that Ainz see the world as a game, it's that his undead mind is crushing his human empathy. He want to car for them, but he just can't. The way he built his character in the game is highly affecting him making him care less about humans than he would a dog. To him, they are nothing more than ressources even though he keep remembering himself how important they should be. It's like a curse on his mind.
4-And here the nightmare begin. Not jsut for the ennemies, but for the villagers too. With that new army, a very big, very strong one, they end up with many more mouths to feed. I think you now understand why using the horn willy-nilly would have been a bad idea. They'll have a very har time to feed themselves for a while now. By the way, because of that army, Enri earned a new nickname. You won't see it in the anime, at least not for now, so I'll add it here. Skip to the next paragraph if you do not want to read this small spoiler... Her new nickname is : Enri the bloody. And yes, her army is extremely powerful in that world.
5- Now, to answer your question about Ainz's reaction... In the game, the item would always make 8 to 12 goblin soldiers appear. Well, not always, if a commander would use it, that number would increase based on the level of the commander's class level, but it rarely reached 20. Commander wasn't conscidered a good job in the game. It would have shined in massive raids with thousands of players/friendly mobs, but that wasn't possible. At the most, a raid would have been 32 players with their pets. Enri's commander's level is very high at the moment so she reach a point where the horn's full power is displayed. That and she truly love and care for her subordinates.

Also in that last moment where Lupusregina met Barbro's army, they were very terrified as in the Novel, one Redcap Goblin decimated almost their entire force and they barely escaped, but then Lupusregina summoned a bunch of them to massacre them

In regard to the passive leveling thing, when a summon (goblins) kill things (i.e hunting for food) their summoner (Enri) is credited the kills and thus the experience for said kills.
As for the horn, back in the video game there were items with secret conditional effects that the players had to find out themselves. What makes the horn special is that it's a trash item that summons extremely low level goblins.
New players back in the video game level up so fast that they would never find themselves using enough horns to trigger the condition before they become worthless summons, and the max level players such as Ainz would never waste time messing with such low level items for potential hidden effects. This means no one in the entire games lifespan knew about the horns secret power 😊
