I think it's kind of cool that Jeter and other athletes have showrooms. If you don't want to spend $25 on a Thurman Munson you don't have to LOL. They are a business, and businesses need to make money. Are Jeter and these athletes actually running the showrooms themselves? Probably not, they obviously don't need the money, but maybe some of them are. I think Arena Clubs entire ecosystem is geared towards the future and people under 40. Most negative things I've heard all seem to come from older people. Their app, user experience and everything overall is just far superior to the legacy grading companies who are now in a reaction phase. PSA adding notes to explain their grading now? I wonder why. Their grading system seems to be very transparent and detailed, and every card you have graded you can access the notes and visually see why a grade was given. Wouldn't be surprised if PSA tries to buy Arena Club, but if I had to predict I would say Arena Club will be a top 2 or 3 grading company by 2030 if their ownership is keen on competing with PSA. Who knows though? Maybe SGC, CGC or Beckett will change the game!

ARENA CLUB has, and will have flaws as doesn't every single business to ever exist. Like you said though, their setup, app, ecosystem, and to me, grading system is far superior to that of PSA or SGC. PSA is already trying to implement AI and digital scans of cards, plus notes on grading, (Which you have to pay extra for last time I checked). People honestly d-ride whoever they're most comfortable with and it's lame when obviously Arena is starting off in the right direction.
Your centering arguement is valid in the fact that the centering is horrible. But its an 8 because the other grades average that out. Has nothing to do with the actual centering subgrade. If I have a card with a centering of 5 even, if edges, corners, and surface are a 10 then that card is still an 8.5. All of your arguments are actually rather dumb. "Imagine getting a card that's a 6 in this centering" Ok it works both ways, what if your surface is a 1? and centering perfect, is that better? Does centering rule over all other subgrades? come on man don't be stupid. PSA would give that a 10 pristine if they had one btw. OH and you are also only looking at the centering on the front and not even paying attention to the centering on the back, which is half of the centering. Stop being an amateur.
I am the amateur? Centering on the back is separate for grading companies. They don't average. The 60/40 numbers they give are for front centering. Also, a card with "5" centering could only get a "6" maximum with how they grade. Edit: The entire point of the video is Arena Club has their own centering standards. No other company "averages" centering, like you think they do. Centering is calculated by the worse front centering and is not averaged. This is why Arena Club grades are different and don't use industry standards. But I am the amateur. :)

CSG, well now CGC, reached out to me about my critique about vintage grading. Arena Club will never do it because they have way too many slabs graded with incorrect centering grades. They would need to regrade every card and update the scale. Just want to make sure people don't grade or buy any vintage with them, because it is just bad grading. It doesn't matter much with ultra-modern, because 95% of everything is a 9 to 10. Thanks for watching!

I personally don't submit much & if I do it's to sell since I generally don't like nor trust others especially strangers handling my prized possessions... Love my cardboard too much to trust random low wage employees opinions who are rushed thru it let alone a computers algorithm that isn't programemed for each individual set let alone each unique card. I'm all about promoting a healthy hobby based on morals & ethics so please keep doing the right thing bc it's sorely needed & often missing.
@@cardboardandplastic9267 and don't get me wrong I own a good 250+ graded cards from practically all the grading companies except havent handled or purchased anything in an Arena Club, Rare, or TAG slabs so I don't hate the service that can be provided I just don't necessarily think the grading companies are looking to add value to hobby but more value to their pockets in the current forms but do hope they go back to catering towards collectors & hobbyists more.

They equate their slabs and grades to the value of the majors. Which is total BS. They know they are moving money from your pocket into theirs.
