Thanks so much for this , Liron! I'ts so good of you! I'm very grateful to you for the feature. And thanks to everyone for watching. Subscribe! Great channel. And if you like - check my newer works, too : www.thomaswschaller.com. instagram.com/thomaswschaller/etc. By the way, the large painting featured is 76x56cm and was done in 3 washes - background, left side, right side. Then a few details added later. No drying time in between. It all took about 5 hours. I did use a water mist bottle to keep it wet to encourage areas to merge and connect
Thomas has a book coming out in September 2018 .. Its called Architect of light... He work is soooo stunning it makes me cry with joy.. The way the colours bleed is breathtaking.
Liron, I agree that Thomas Schiller is a phenomenal watercolor artist and I enjoyed your analysis pointing out just what makes his pieces so very special. Often it is possible for people like myself to love a piece but lack the knowledge to state clearly why. Your analysis did that for me. Robt
Thomas Shaller is one of my favourite artists. I got his book at Christmas and must look at it every other week. I love the way he captures light and creates atmosphere in his paintings. Great video 🥰
He has some really colorful paintings now, think he uses the primatek paints, they look very sparkly.. With use of flat brushes.. Looks great.. Check those out too
Beautiful stuff. I love all of the works of his that you showed us. I also enjoy the format whereby you show several works by the same artist before going into the analysis of one painting in particular. (Whew, that was a long winded sentence :)) Another great video and review. He is an amazing artist. I am very impressed with his mastery of colour, his control of the "wetness", perspective and architecture. I really enjoyed this one. Thanks!
Liron, thanks for this. He is an amazing artist. I also follow him. I just love his lights, beautiful, and his compositions, yes color too. Don't I wish!!!
You are "right-on" with Schaller. He does great work with wet color blending. Stephen Quiller is an artist who does things with great color combinations
Liron I enjoy your "u tubes" alot. heres a technique I discoverd you may like to try. use your watercolor paints, 'very thin' IN A AIR BRUSH. especially for larger areas like sky's. mixing colors as needed. It gives excellent smoth effects.. ' j ust sharing "
great review!! really like how you gave a little overview of the artists' other works and then proceeded to your main piece. as always, great video. keep going!! :) PS. can you also do a review on comics or some animation? the colours and the sense of depth in most of them amaze me. would love to hear what you think. Cheers! :)
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 I’ll try and keep this format then. Helps to know! Also - I’m actually a big anime and manga fan - so who knows? I may expand in the future 😉 What exactly would interest you to see in that context?
(wow you replied :) in context, maybe you can review your favourite comics/anime? whatever you like about them, story, style, aesthetic. would be great to hear from ya! :)
Wow I wonder what the scale of that painting is. The details on the people are unreal o.O This is my favorite series of your videos, you're doing a great job, Liron! I noticed you're mostly reviewing landscape art. If you ever get to portraiture there's this artist I have been following on Instagram that I love: Benjamin Bjorklund - his watercolor portraits are always left at the perfect stage - obscure and very emotional at the same time. He paints in oils as well but his watercolor study work is just amazing. May not be for this video series, but you might like him. He uses greens a lot and his brushwork is flawless.
Thank you 🙏🏼😊 So happy you enjoy this series! As it’s new - it’s really helpful to know. I checked out Benjamin’s work and loved many of it. Could be a good idea to expand to other subjects such as portraits, people in general, and even animals. Thank you for the ideas 😊🙏🏼
And one day you'll get to interviewing the artists in person and maybe doing a demo painting with them B-) Aim high :D now THAT would be an amazing video series.
This was a great video. I really like Thomas Schaller's work. You should also take a look at Michael Reardon, who is also from California and a qualified architect. He has a similar style but personally, I tend to favour Reardon's style. :)
Your secret is safe with me. :) Michael Reardon also has an excellent book on watercolour techniques and painting light, which you should definitely check out as well if you are not familiar with it. I really love his style.

That’s amazing Thomas! 🙏🏼☺️☺️ Thank you for sharing the process and for all the inspiration! I and so many really appreciate it 🎨🙏🏼

Thank you for this video it was interesting to watch. Thomas Schaller is my favourite painter and I didn't know this specific painting.
Thank you! 🙏😊 His work is wonderful.
I've been especially appreciating his invented cityscapes / landscapes lately.
Thomas has a book coming out in September 2018 .. Its called Architect of light... He work is soooo stunning it makes me cry with joy.. The way the colours bleed is breathtaking.
Haha amazing! I hope to check it out once it’s published. Guy’s a legend (:

I got this book recently and it is a must-have for people who love watercolour. His work is so inspiring. I absolutely love it

Interesting (: The Primateks dry really hard to my taste (though some are softer than others).
I hope to try more of them in some point (:
Excellent review! I like his work a lot!

Liron Yanconsky I'll be looking forward to it!

I believe so, yes 😁 Really impressive technique, composition, values, colors, everything!
nice video Liron
Thank you 😊🙏🏼
Very interesting! Great to see more paintings of the same artist too, it's really inspirational to get a sense of how they work.
Yes, I think it’s really helpful! (:
I hope you’ll continue enjoying this series 🙏🏼😊
I definitely will! They are some of my favourite videos of yours. :)
Just fantastic...
Thank you 😊🙏🏼
You are "right-on" with Schaller. He does great work with wet color blending. Stephen Quiller is an artist who does things with great color combinations
Oh, I love his work too!
Very different from my preferred style - but so impressive (:
You have covered some wonderful masters of watercolour Thank you ! Have you got Roland Roycraft on your list for some time in the future.?
Got him in my list 😉
Very colorful work! Hope to review him in the future (:
Schaller talks about creating a 'river of light' in his paintings - - this painting is a good example of this concept.
Thanks. Wow. I was only slightly familiar with him (a big picture of a viaduct or something - lol).
Happy you discovered more of his work that you’ll like 😁👍🏼

I heard about people doing that! Haha, I may give it a try once I have a proper studio 😉
I enjoyed the another video.

Of course I did (:
I'll give it more thought, so that when I do, it stays relevant for many viewers here (;
Will keep you updated!
Nobody paints watercolor like Tom Schaller. Totally unique.
Indeed, his current work is so on point too (: The imaginary cityscapes
Wow I wonder what the scale of that painting is. The details on the people are unreal o.O This is my favorite series of your videos, you're doing a great job, Liron!

Don't tell anyone, but Reardon is the next episode... (;
(will come out this Thursday, I believe)
Your secret is safe with me. :) Michael Reardon also has an excellent book on watercolour techniques and painting light, which you should definitely check out as well if you are not familiar with it. I really love his style.
I couldn't even imagine where to start attempting to emulate this! You?
Haha it could be interesting to try! Thomas is right on the cutting edge of watercolor - definitely challenging! (:
what a masterful painting and not event a one off painting as all of the art I see of is is of the best standard. TFS
o Yasmine I went to your page and thought i would see lots of great high quality art but on your page you have nothing, how sad.
I really like hearing about the artist, himself ( or Her) as well as the picture and technically how it was developed. Very interesting. Mary. 5448
Thank you 😊🙏🏼 Will do more of this!
He does very detailed and accurate drawings.Love his work but I would rather emulate Alvaro who scribbles as I am not a draftsman.
Schaller seems like a nice person in interviews, but for some reason his art just doesn’t speak to me.
