cat with the vapormaxx. same clothing i wear hahaha i dont feel so chavvy now. i wish i could have been there. ive been bingeing lately and would have had some better questions.
I just finished re-reading Infinity Welcomes Careful Drivers and am currently halfway through Better Than Life, having first read them as a teenager around 27 years ago, and I forgot how good they are. To any Dwarfers who haven't read them, I can't recommend them enough. The world building is great and gives us glimpses into things we never see in the show, such as the endless forms and mandatory existential therapy newly switched on holograms have to endure, and what Lister was doing prior to joining Red Dwarf and why he was so cavalier about getting sentenced to stasis when the captain learned about his cat. If you haven't read them, go and read them. And if you don't have the patience or time to read them, listen to the audio books. They're read by Chris Barrie and I'm fairly sure they're on TH-cam.
The books are absolutely fantastic and I can't recommend them highly enough. One of my favourite little bits is about how mankind decided they couldn't have war anymore, so turned their attention to sport instead, and started genetically engineering players. The line that still lives rent-free in my head - "In football, for example, you had strikers with 3 legs. Scotland even managed to genetically engineer a 6 foot by 11 foot oblong of flesh as a goalkeeper, but still failed to reach the second round".
I have no hope that Craig, Chris, Danny nor Robert will read this. But. When I first courted my wife, she did send me a BBC DVD of a weird Sci-Fi show. When visiting the UK (Or invading, raiding whatever..... I am Norwegian alright don't judge me just because the bloodied axe) for the first time, I did pick up a "boxed set" of series 1 through 4 of the tv show. Yes you guessed right, it was Red Dwarf. My wife (the english part of the marriage) have since been teasing me (the Invad..... The Norwegian part) about loving British humour....... Take THAT
My two favourite films as a kid were Little Shop of Horrors and Labyrinth. It wasn't until years after becoming a Red Dwarf fan that I realised Danny was in both.
@@The-King-Murphy They're not huge parts to be fair. Little Shop of Horrors is really a blink and you'll miss it. Near the beginning of the film, there's a flashback where Seymour explains where he found the plant. There's a shot with three guys right in the foreground clicking their fingers and singing acapella. Danny is one of them. Labyrinth has a bigger role, but he doesn't actually appear on screen. He voices two of the fireys (the orange furry things that dance around and swap their limbs). If you watch the scene on TH-cam, you'll realise it's him as soon as they start singing. His voice is unmistakable. He also had a small speaking part in Blade 2, as one of the two vampires sent to track down Blade and ask for his help.
@@EricssonRotaryBiscuit If you watch the Special Edition DVD of Labyrinth, there's a bit of Danny John Jules explaining that he worked with David Bowie to do a big musical number, but sadly due to the limited budget it was scrapped and they did the Fireys sequence instead. Most of the music in the movie was composed by David Bowie, even the more "orchestral" synthesiser bits. Fun Fact: The choreographer for the movie was Gates McFadden, Doctor Beverley Crusher herself from Star Trek: The Next Generation, she started her career as a dancer and ended up as an actor in her later years.
i have got a question someone in the audience should be asking the panel! ... if amazon T.V payed you all handsomely for another 3 series, with potential for 3 more after that, with a well written script and backed with plenty of "£". Would you all agree to make it?
This is good, nice to hear from the performers. My views are more than a little bias (RD fanboi). RD, the writers, the performers, the techs and everyone else involved with The Dwarf was a golden age of Britcom. I urge everyone to experience this. The Beeb should still show this at 9PM on channel Two. Failing that, just steal it from Internet. Peace-out, smeg off :)
Red Dwarf is still unique, when it comes to sci-fi comedy nothing else has ever come close to the peak years of Red Dwarf. Futurama deserves a mention but for live action absolutely nothing.
If multiverse theory was true I'd like to think there's a reality out there where BBC continued Red Dwarf instead of Doctor Who. Making no change to the early days humour and the boys just cracking on as usual.
There is going to be another one filmed before the end of the year, to be broadcast next year on Dave (owned by BBC Studios), as Doug Naylor still has a contract with the channel and the script was already written before COVID hit, so it's ready to go.
The fat the show keeps going on and on is proof it’s just bloody incredible. It’s just so much fun and yeah like every show days like the other episode that is questionable his guys honestly sick amazing I never witness a show that is gone from mine entire life and I see them now as relics and I do not mean that insultingly I mean that through age cause I’m the age I’m falling apart physically they’re also damn good yeah I love this show. I love this of you. I can only thank you. Posting it. I watch them more years and now I’m gonna go on Appleand buy the crap out of it. Thank you for cost me more money yeah I wanna go back from the start and just Joyce how much fun these guys brought to us because it was nothing but fun every single one of them thank you.

Well done Danny :)
Craig Charles commentary on Takeshi's castle was legendary
Oh Christ aye!! It’s shite without it
Red Dwarf, Robot Wars, Takeshi's Castle - there was a wonderful moment in time where Craig OWNED television in the UK. :)
I was growing that mould, I called him Albert, and I was trying to grow it 2 foot high.
Top lads!
I medically need more red dwarf
What LEGENDS 😎 😎 😎
They seem very genuine, which is nice to see. When is the next series?
There's so many things on TH-cam you could say "I could listen to that all night".
That's definitely one....
Gret stuff!
Nice of Queeg to host!
I went Saturday Danny did a really nice tribute video to my brother and Craig remembered meeting my brother twice when I showed him a photo i
cat with the vapormaxx. same clothing i wear hahaha i dont feel so chavvy now. i wish i could have been there. ive been bingeing lately and would have had some better questions.
How come Robert Llewellyn isn’t there? Kryten is brilliant!

Robert Llewellyn has gotten much younger and changed skin colour! What a method actor.
That's what he looks like under the makeup.
I lost it when Dann got up and down the whole "Fookin Dancer" thing 😂😂
Absolute legends that clearly still thrive off each other. Says a lot!
25:06 "It's made me smell when I didn't think I could." 😂
Love you guys hope you are all doing great
Pure gold.

Didn’t realise that. I need to watch them again

The pish Edinburgh yin
Oh get in, best thing for a suicide Tuesday!! Thanks for posting mate
Yo craig, im the dad that sent his kid with a note to have you sign my anniversary boxset🖖🏼
I was doing time lol
Thats Danny being sarcastic! Lol he was doing " Time" the musical!
It's slightly heartbreaking to hear Chris let slip that he's never seen or read hhgttg >
I thought this too - saying it's "more of a drama" is heartbreaking, someone needs to force him to read the damn books!
Rewatched the whole of red dwarf just a few months ago. Where’s kryten
He'll be about somewhere. Robert has a lot of commitments so he probs couldn't get the time.
I was wondering the same thing. No reason why he couldn’t have come up there with them
That second question, I mean, has he not seen Smeg Ups and Smeg Outs?
2nd question guy, has he not seen the Smeg up bloopers tapes ?
wow very nice
Hilarious, Craig Charles stories 😂
❤
michael keaaton was the batman in the late 80s dude
He played Batman in The Flash movie last year too.
24:50 Trans racial too.
Dam I thought it was going to be on this year.
Has the guy who asked the 2nd quesrion not seen the Smeg Ups bloopees tapes ?
Was that a reference to dwayne dibbly 😂
Pity Robert.was not able to be there.
If you've not heard the old dvd commentaries, you need to.
Will have to dig them out! 😂
Will it be come back?

Dave does it now
DJJ still has a great singing voice

I miss this show
It’s on Dave all the time
love these guys but no robert makes me sad
Danny used to play bob marley..
Where's Kryton?
is there any news on another series at all?
They're filming one very soon to be released next year. It's going to be a film like the last one
@@McCloudious When are the filming dates? Would love to get tickets!
@@misomiso8228 not 100% sure but sometime before the year is out!
I really hope that's true, that's why I clicked
Where’s kryten?
Craig gave the plot away...he's going to save kachansky through the mirror universe....
Omg! They should definitely do a doctor who and red dwarf cross over!
Please god no

How old is the guy who has a Mum who's 50 ?
Wow. We're all still alive in 2024.
Mickey Mouse!
Gotta mic up the crowd better at these conventions. It's so jarring hearing dead air after most of the jokes.
They need to hurry up and make some Red Dwarf movies like Promised Land before it's too late cos by god they're getting old now.
