- I've always thought of this group as The Rippingtons V.2.0. Hands down one of the top L.A. jazz-fusion groups during the early 90s, led by Hawaiian keyboardist Daniel Ho, and featuring Brandon Fields on Sax as well as Russ Freeman as composer/arranger [hence that Ripps vibe]. I bought this CD back around 1993 at my go-to CD store Camelot Music in the "jazz" section at Gwinnett Place Mall back in the dayz... I later bought the rest of their discography as it dropped. Great band.

Russ Freeman transports me to a world where everything is perfect...
Are you kidding me? This album is absolutely amazing. I recognise bits and bobs out of 90s American movies, Japanese Animes, American Sitcomes and 90s Video games! Thanks for sharing this amazing piece of art!
As a big fan of The Rippingtons, I instantly fell in love with this album (and group) when I first heard it years ago. Wish they made more albums.
Cool album from start of 90s.. Summer time 🎷⛱️ 🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
Thanks!!
My favorite Kilauea album as well!
Good stuff with many of the Ripps contributing
Pirates Cove has always been in my top 10 favourite fusion tunes ever since I discovered it a few years ago. The whole album is bliss.
I saw The Rippingtons twice. I got to talk briefly with Jeff Kaziwa and Steve Reid at one of the concerts. I have this album, too. I love Brandon Fields. He has some fine solo albums.
I've met and talked with Brandon Fields and Russ Freeman at one of the Rippingtons concerts. Great concert and nice guys to talk with about music.
Isle of Lucy my favorite on this album…love love love it!!!
My fav album of theirs--agree with you on the Rippingtons comparison, also compares to T-Square's Truth.
It's exactly as amazing as I was expecting by the cover.
2:46 i love these little pitch bends and exotic scale
Thanks for returning this keepsake to the forefront, Kyle. The band has such infectious energy! Always great to hear the unheralded Mr. Brandon Fields on alto saxophone. Love the serene cover artwork! Thank you again and Blessings to you & all!
Played this a lot back in the day.
Helping my parents move, found this old cassette in storage, forgot all about this.
Kyle, you are a legend...thank you for posting this one
28:37 18:00 great ones, nice photo! For those who didnt got it, the mountain is a head
Great album, and I love the cover art too!
👍Kyle 👍
Cool album 👏🎹🎸🎹🎷🎹🏖️
Wow, they musta loved the Rippingtons
Ditto on the Rippintons fans here. This is a a great album here with most of the Rippingtons members.
Precioso álbum ❤
Basically 90% of the Ripps..(it's a good thing) 😄
😋 let's take a ride yall
I've just noticed the mountains on the cover are silhouette of a woman if you rotate the cover.
So ... who has this album on blogspot somewhere?
guitar player not credited
Needs more cowbell.
Wow, the great singer Clair Marlo doing the bass and drums!!!!
Is Russ freeman playing the guitars?
The debut project from pop-jazz ensemble Kilauea is basically The Rippingtons sans leader Russ Freeman. Led by keyboardist Daniel Ho, the band on their first recording features guest Ripps Steve Bailey, Brandon Fields, Steve Reid and Tony Morales --along with an entire album populated by heretofore unreleased Freeman tunes.
@@mattweldon5159 cool
In album credits it's a guy named "David Pless" but I think it's AKA that Russ Freeman used.
У вас нет одного трека вы лоханулись!!!! добавьте его!!!! 03.The Love Goddess????🤷♂️
