The only reason i dont like doom speedrun is because i cant enjoy the best part of the game...the music. Jokes aside, i didnt follow the scene for like 2 years, so many new skips and option movement and you're so good at it. Theres room for.improvement, hope you get an even better record, you're so skilled

It's to overcharge the plasma gun because then you can release a heat blast to falter enemies, notice how the plasma gun gets more red as you shoot it.
So I've never watched this speedrun game before and I have a question. The chainsaw animation seems really slow. Why do you use it instead of killing enemies other ways? What is the benefit of using it?
1) BFG pickups 2) crystal upgrades for ammo 3) picking up Unmaykr 4) on the gladiator phase 2 you get a refill 5) in the fortress after gladiator you get a refill as well
I'm guessing you're talking about the plasma rifle? It charges its secondary charge/fire mode; the Heat Blast mod. Note how the gun becomes red as it's fired, indicating charge.
I know the timer's only supposed to tick when the player has control, but being able to take a break between levels when it has already loaded kinda feels like it's going against the spirit of speedrunning.

The really impressive thing here, is the fact that the cat was able to run on that treadmill for 1 hour and 48 minutes.

Glory Kills make enemies drop a lot of health, chainsawing enemies drops a lot of ammo, so it's to sustain yourself.
