I agree, a chefs editions would be great. I’m sure there are some cheffy things they’d be annoyed they don’t know the answers to, and definitely some pop culture questions.
I thought the questions should be about countries that they did for the around the world series, but yes anything to stump Ben.
I know Jamie gets made fun of a little for his chaos and his often simplistic aproaches to food, but in so many episodes he has shown that his knowledge is actually very impressive XD
He knows what he doesn't want to use.

I think the 3 normals should study the exact books that Kush & Ebbers used through college and pick 5 questions out of them for the chefs. Lets see if they remember the REALLY obscure stuff from back then, mother sauces, French techniques, all that fun stuff.
It'd have to be extra, super obscure to get past Ben's encyclopedic memory.

Chef's edition definitely needs to happen! On a side note, the "audience" participation makes the video seem a bit more lively and "gameshow" like. The crew should chime in a bit more for this style of video 😁!

I think one way to spice this up is to let the ones who answer correctly pick an ingredients from a list of normal stuff you'd put in a smoothie (maybe rotates these ingredients every week so no one dump heap and heap of chocolate sauce in it). So not only they get to make their drink/pudding a bit better but also test them on flavor combination, because strawberry in a wild garlic umeboshi plum might not be compatible or enough to improve it.
You should have a question about National Doughnut Day!! Maybe Barry will finally get it right 😂(see the grilled cheese battle for context)

I think it would really fun if the one who gets the question right gets to pick in which glass the ingredient goes, then maybe you can even add some nice things as a price instead of only punishments.

Just another reason why this is my all-time favorite channel. I am never disappointed and THE THINGS I HAVE LEARNED. Honestly, it’s like having a front row seat to the best cocktail of delicious food, delightful comedy, and a twist of education. The amount of times I have referenced this channel in my everyday life. 😂 Sorted helped me conquer my kitchen anxiety so I was able to cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner by myself, provided me with enough food facts to win more than one trivia game, and kept a continual smile on my face during both surgery recovery and COVID.

this was amazingly entertaining, you should have made Ben and Kush cook something with the nasty "drinks" as a base. Fun for everyone!!
You should combine this with the 15 minute unplanned cook format! Give them a chance to use their knowlegde and make a dish that's hopefully less horrible than one of those smoothies

In poker face, one of the challenges involved Toum, an emulsion of garlic and oil. Where does it come from?
This is something that needs to be back on the regular video rotation.
Of course we want more these. Seeing normals or chefs suffer is always fun.

For a chefs edition you can present questions as if they are about food and then just ask completely tangential questions at the end, like just go in explaining the what the exact botanical details of what a blackberry is, and then at the very end ask when the Blackberry Cellphone came out.
Other questions that are only vaguely related to food:
- In greek mythology, what food determined how many months Persephone has to stay in Hades.
- Where was the fortune cookie invented? (PLEASE make them have to blend an entire fortune cookie)
- How many licks does it take to get to the tootsie roll center of a toosie pop??
- In the movie Beauty and the Beast during the song Be Our Guest what was the name of the dish that Lumiere described as Delicious?
- Which popular restaurant served cheetos mac n cheese balls?
- How many flavors of Mtn Dew exist? (its way more than you think).
- Alternatively, where did Mtn Dew Baja Blast first get served from?
- Who invented the infamous Pink Sauce? (do not make them actually put that in a drink, just make them put in what an assumed ingredient is)
- What food related reason was Chuck E, Cheese infamously investigated for?
- Related: What does the E in Chuck E. Cheese Pizzeria stand for.
- What size fries are served at a Five Guys?
And finally one to absolutely destroy them, save it for the last one if you ever do it:
- Is a hotdog a sandwich? (or really any of the alternatives, like "is a poptart a ravioli" or "ketchup a smoothie")

This is fantastic and really showcases a different side of everyone's experience with the channel over the years. Give us more! Maybe ask questions about the ingredients they used when trying to beat a chef on the unlimited budget competitions.

Funny thing is, he was technically right. Umeboshi (pickled plums) ARE fermented. That's why they're so sour. The salt brine starts the lacto-fermentation process, just like with sauerkraut. He was cheated.

Maybe do a version where you build a dish, like a pasta dish.
If you get a question right, you get a regular ingredient. If you get it wrong, you get something that should never be in that dish, like malic acid or something.
Use a question or multiple questions with ingredients from the Poker Face challenges!

Yooo! I'd love a chef's edition. But it's not just about Sorted, it's about cooking techniques in cheffy school and the likes of that! (No easy questions like what's the difference between a mire poix and a soffrito, but something like why do you add baking soda to mince [helps brown the beef, get crispy bits, and keeps it moist])

Fun video! There is a norwegian radio show I love which had a segment called "the blender" where one person blended up 3-4 ingredients and the others had to guess (hand cream was a staple ingredient lol). Could be fun to test the chefs this way. Same concept but they could not know what got put in the drink and then had to guess
Please do more of these. Questions regarding the food marathons or the step up to the plate series.

I'd rather have them try to make things from memory and eat/drink the final result. If they get the portions off or forget a key ingredient, they pay the price. But making them drink gross concoctions to the point of being physically ill -- that's too cruel!

I think a great idea for a new episode is for the normals to take their ingredients that they had to blend up but use all those flavors to create a yummy edible dish with them.
Second the idea that the chefs get quizzed from their culinary school textbooks. 😂
We haven't gotten any more in the past year. Guess it didn't have much watch time for them to do more. A pity. It was fun.

Normals should suggest a dish and be given ample time to develop a signature recipe. The chef is told day-of at the start of the competition the dish they have to prepare and compete with the normal for the best dish!
