that dude gardener at 4:30 gave a great duel with a cool build, would love to see a rematch
after so many episodes finally a worthy opponent - i think he only got beaten twice

The Scythe player showed some great use of the new light build buffs. Might be interesting to see in a future build. So tough to catch rolls when they go that much farther
I recommend St Trina's Torch for it is uncomfortable

The buffed light rolls seem to be quite strong against the typical rollcatch-based strategies. Of course chase still wins those lol, but the duels against light rolling opponents seem to pretty consistently be longer and closer matches, especially when using medium speed weapons like curved greatswords.
I've been using bloodhounds fang and light rollers are a real challenge
yeah when using one of the slower weapons light rolls definitely make it more difficult. I think spears or weapons with long range will definitely be the go to when fighting light roll
I’ve been experimenting with light load and heavy thrusting swords and it seems pretty oppressive. The range and running attacks paired with the speed is nice👌
makes me wonder how crouch poke handles against light-rollers...

I think my favorite invasions to watch are either when Chase 1v3's toxic mages, or the ones where he goes on an adventure with the host lol.

If Gardener pressured the Chase when he went to eat a poison bolus he probably would've won. I was disappointed by that considering how good the rest of their fight was.
@@Nivomandasrail yeah, it turned out he basically let him eat poison boluses for free. It seems to me like Gardener experimented a bit with poison, not fully sure ehat he wants to do with it or to adapt his play style to proc-ing poison. Like "ok i poisoned him, now what..."... i had similar experiences by putting poison on weapon more like an experiment and it seems cool than knowing what to do with it. And when i poisoned somebody figured that i have no idea how to adapt my play with it and i am more focused on getting that poison proc than the flow of combat. Removed poison ash of war (used the same one with a cloud ) and continued using the weapon as i used it before...
Even though Chase makes every weapon look good, nothing can save this wep's terrible AoW lol

I mean, this weapon also isn't very good.
And roll catching in this game and DS3 is kind of silly, even with medium rolls. Roll catching a fast roll with this weapon is a very unreliable, even for a pretty skilled player.

As an aside I enjoy the showcases of C or D tier weapons like this. It really showcases your skills and abilities as a player.

@@nsk1911 Bleed and poison scale with the Arcane stat. If you have high Arcane, an occult-infused does more status damage AND it can often deal comparable damage to strength or dex scaling.👍🏼
The Magma Whip Candlestick would be quite the fun weapon to see in action. Fire whip with endless propeller weapon art. You get it from doing Patches' mark for volcano manor, so it's sadly only one per ng cycle.
I've heard that allegedly they are also a rare drop from the snake dudes that use them too
@@Shmethan I think I dropped one there in my first playthrough, but I also tried farming one in the last one and got 2 magma blades before seeing 1 single candlestick and, according to the wiki and any other info I cound find with google, it shouldn't drop at all, so I wouldn't really waste time farming for it. Either go ng+ or better get someone else who doesn't use it to drop it for you.
It's so crazy that Chase has done 1 of these almost every-day since the game came out, & he still has a bunch of weapons to go over. I've never even seen this sword - the fact that there are *_still_* weapons I haven't seen is crazy in-&-of itself!
All of it is obsolete because they keep patching the weapons. Hes going to have to it all over again

The trick with AOW is to use it repeatedly and the enemy thinks you are really dumb and then walks into your r2.

The duel with gardener had me on the edge of my seat.
May I suggest the pike, rusted anchor, pickaxe, and venomous fang? Pike is the spear with the longest range, rusted anchor is a greataxe which deals pure pierce damage, so it benefits from the spear talisman, same with the pickaxe, and I just like the venomous fang lol
A seemingly boring weapon in the hands of a master becomes interesting.
I recommend the Watchdog's Staff because we fell in love and we want to share it.
When your doing these weapon showcases, do you go into ng+ for unique weapons? Or do you get a supply from other people. Going along with this idea, do you do the same for larval tears to change builds or do you have multiple characters?
If you are on PC, you will just dupe.

Royal Troll sword? It's called something like that, but I forget. It's the sword the trolls in liurnia use, and it has an amazing moveset.
I really wanna see you use that sheild that shoots a ranged attack as it’s ash of war.
Today he finally had a challenge :p maybe to challenge yourself more, u could use daggers like the Wakizashi or fists. also don't see a lot of flails being used. like to see what u can do with these aswell. Ur a great fighter with a very big arsenal of weapons, keep up the good work

Ime the only way to hit the AoW is to pop it when someone is jumping into you or using their own long cast into you and hypertrade. Not a huge fan ngl.

Fun fact the butcher knife in elden ring resembles that of a real life knife called blacksmith knife. It is the most basic knife you can make because you turn the steal the blade is made of into the handle, instead of making a handle which requires a different set of skills and resources.

Still crossing my fingers for a Watchdog's Staff or Fallingstar Beast Jaw showcase! I think they're good for quality but unsure.
I use beast jaw on my int/str, it works great with a staff in offhand to whip out slicer
I wonder if during that casting invasion, when you were surrounded on the pennisula, if that was a decent time to trigger the repulsion ash. Eh, probably would have gotten you killed. Its weird because Onyx Lord's Repulsion *seems* like it should be for pushing people off of you but its so darn slow that it can't really achieve that purpose.
Yeah, it's one of the few weapon skills that probably needs to be *strengthened* for PvP!
yeah it definitely needs a buff, i would recommend them give it a great amount of hyper armor since it is so slow, at least then youd be able to tank a hit and use it as a possible trade.
@@ChaseTheBro I was thinking adjusting its damage and making it come out real quick, with some light lag on the backend. Both to differentiate it further from Gravitas and that way it throws people off you and can interrupt a stun-lock but leaves spamming it punishable. Although that could be much harder to balance. Too cheap with too light a lagtime and you end up with Bloodhound Step problems all over again.

I really wish I could like this thing since it looks so damn cool but that AoW just kills me on the inside.
Sooooo damn slow, it's practically unusable. I even tried it in PvE against generic peasant enemies...
It doesn't even get hyper armor so *everything* knocks you out of it by the time you slam it down...
Yes, literally EVERYTHING. Even a peasant soldier with a dagger or a freakin' rolling sheep cancels it.
