I am so impressed by how intimately you both know all these animals! Watching you process the smells to form an educated guess was very interesting, it shows how much you know about all the different species and how much thought goes into each animal's care.
Sand boas are such interesting-looking snakes. I have a dark brown and orange one who loves peeking just the top of her head out of the sand to watch her surroundings.
I'm a little disappointed there weren't any birds, but I imagine it would be very difficult not to give it away by sound! It would be interesting to hear all the different birds in a video though!
You two are my kinda people. I always feel out of place in my current place of work. I definitely don't fit in. But the energy that you all share at Animal Wonders is the kind of energy and environment I can imagine myself thriving in! 💜
Right! I'm sure that videos are different from the real workplace since animals pose so many challenges but you can really tell they are happy where they work
I'm reminded of a Star Trek Voyager episode where a couple of reptilian (dinosaurian, actually) aliens are talking about their first encounter with humans. One of them remarks that humans are rather smelly. "Well, they are mammals after all," the other one responds. So apparently Star Trek Voyager got that one right.
That was great fun. :) At the risk of being *that person*, I think this is at least Taylor's 3rd video. I remember one where she described her education and career path and another one where she discussed training Archie, the Amazon parrot. I'd be interested to hear about her progress with him.
You both are so amazing and positive. I hope I have a work environment so positive some day! Liked and subbed! BTW, I found you from your kemosabe vids and let me tell you that guy is so CUTE
Totally agree with being able to tell something is wrong with animals because of smell. I work at a reptile shop, and when I was doing water changing I opened a snake enclosure to smell one of the worst smells I'd ever smelt. Turns out the snake had regurgitated his mouse inside one of his hides, there was no way to tell something was wrong just by looking in the enclosure or at the snake.
I would LOVE being able to volunteer there!! I don’t care if I had to clean up poop all day as long as I get to meet all the animals and possibly train them 💗💗💗I’m amazing at training and understanding animals.
Bearded dragons have a neat smell =o you have to put your nose on them though to really smell anything though. Try it if you have one! It's like a smokey leathery scent
actually your smell aptitude is probably fine, it's the way our brain works that tricks us, our brain think it is redondant information if you always smell the same things and don't 'notify' us, i think i learned that in a scishow episode
Jessi said a while ago that they took him out of the intro because it was confusing to some people since he doesn't appear on camera often. I guess they just use the intro with him in it if he's actually in the video now.
I figure the parrots are all too noisy for this challenge and would give the answer away before you could even sniff them. But they smell soooooo good! I would straight up snort my green cheeked conure all the time if she would let me! XD
There are so many things that would give it away. Even just breathing in a certain way could be a giveaway. Next time we should do something to block the noises out too. Oooor, make or guess based on hearing the animal?
I wonder if Ophelia's sweet smell isn't actually the box, but is a natural thing supposed to be reminiscent of the smell of decay? Seeing as opossums are masters of playing dead :)
Hi Animal Wonders! Long time subscriber but first time asking a question. You often say that a "parakeet" has a long tail & a "parrot" has a short tail. The Alexandrine parakeet is the largest of the parakeets. As a cockatiel parakeet cohabitor, I am fascinated by this. Can you please explain in a video sometime where the Macaws & Amazons fit into this. They are parrots but they have beautiful long tails & would obviously out size the Alexandrine if they were "parakeets" as defined by their long tail. Please help.....I'm confused. Thanks. Loving your channel for many years now!
Hi Sam! Amazons are classified as parrots and not parakeets because their tail is not longer than their body. When spread out they look similar to a human's fingers spreading out, I call this squared off as opposed to long and pointed in the middle, or triangular. Macaws are in their own group because of the bald face patch they (most) have and the shear size of their beaks compared to parakeets. But please keep in mind that try as we might, whenever humans try to put nature into neat and tidy boxes, nature is always spilling out. So classification isn't a hard and fast rule all of the time, but it does come in handy a lot of the time.
My 7 yr old daughter wants to comment-Hi Jessy my name is Ruthy. Can you do a video of you and Taylor blind folded while guessing the animals by touch? My favorite video is about zeema the tucán,and I have a dog like tinker but she is brown. I wish I could send you a package for the animals, but we live in Panama
I love sniffing animals! I want to do this challenge! Furry mammals like cats, bunnys, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and so on have the best smell! This smell of warm fur with this mixture of a bit of pee and something that smells like cookies or cake with some kind of nuts - I love it! Animals like that smell soooo good! When I got my cat, he was a stray and not neutered. He had that original tomcat smell. I loved it! I did have him neutered just shortly after, for reasons of animals welfare, but I wish he could have kept the scent. He does still have his own cat smell now, but of course not as strong. Yes, most people think this is gross, but I, in turn, find it disgusting that most people like to sniff human babies - ewwww🤢. I love sniffing kitty cats, they smell like a mixture of cat pee and freshly baked hazelnut cookies! They smell cute and snuggly. 😻 And Ophelia is such a little princess! She's so cute and pretty! I want to kiss her pointy little snout!
Why did they both smell the poop Tayler won she had 2 and a half points and Jessi had 2 that’s just wrong and also I LOVE your animals if they could be quite you could have brung the birds 🦅
"The only winner here is myself." Augusto is hilarious.
XD
True you see the animals
That was a lot of fun, rarely get 3 humans on the screen here at the same time so it was a joy cause you're all so great and wholesome!
Ha! Whose idea was this? Very funny!
Lol at Augusto putting the snake’s cloaca towards their faces.
My favorite part is the "What's going on?" Confused look on the animal's faces.🤣
Hi Taylor and Augusto!! You are both so super great and it’s always delightful to see you!
I am so impressed by how intimately you both know all these animals! Watching you process the smells to form an educated guess was very interesting, it shows how much you know about all the different species and how much thought goes into each animal's care.
Awwww cmon poor ophilia doesn t deserve the thumbnail. She apparently even smelled like fruits ;P
Also, we need more opossum content
She is too cute 😍 I love opossums.
Ophelia is the cutest thing! I always forget how big opossums are!
These are fun and educational.
I agree with the others too -- it's mighty good to see Taylor and Augusto back in the videos again. It's been a while!
Sand boas are such interesting-looking snakes. I have a dark brown and orange one who loves peeking just the top of her head out of the sand to watch her surroundings.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
Hey!! Hubby is back in the intro! 😁
I think they put him in when he appears in the video but not otherwise.
I was happy to see this!
It's called going nose blind.
Just for trivia, the technical term is 'anosmic', and if you want a cool historical figure who was anosmic, then William Wordsworth was :)
@@starch7993 You blind-sided me with that, thanks!;-)
This was fun! Ophelia is beautiful!
Cant believe how much Smaug reminds me of Toothless.
Taylor's so cool! I wanna be her friend!
Omg me too she's excellent just like Jessi 😁🍌 for Kemosabe 💖💝💓
Same! I wanna be friends with both of them!
I'm a little disappointed there weren't any birds, but I imagine it would be very difficult not to give it away by sound! It would be interesting to hear all the different birds in a video though!

Me too...I want to be with them and smell animals forever while laughing and taking care of them...😭❤
All the animal names are so clever and thoughtful! Who every chose the name Ophelia is a genius!
"it would rub her nubs" 🤣
Awwww poor Blueberry 😖
I always learn something from you videos. Thanks for another good one and thanks for helping all of the animals!😀
This was great! I loved seeing some more of the staff and multiple animals in one video - Ophelia was especially cute in my opinion
She did a video about guessing the animals by touch! th-cam.com/video/5ceT-96Y7o8/w-d-xo.html
@@thatmaia awesome! thank you, idk why I missed it!

I just hear the marmoset in the background! I work with them and I here it all day. You should have smelt her because marms definitely smell!
Ophelia looked very offended
Jessi knew she straight up knew that it was Cheerio 😁💖💝💓 Omg Jessie's raising the stakes 😮 Yes definitely more opposum content please!!!!!!!
Ophelia is so pretty. She’s so cute. I’d love to know more about her.
You guys need a binturong. Talk about a distinctive odor, but not especially unpleasant. Kinda like popcorn.
11:57 😂

this was hilarious and surprisingly entertaining! please do more like this! love your channel!
“ that I would be pointless!” 😐 7:35
4:53 Weird. One would think Shai-Hulud would smell like cinnamon... ;)
Fun fact: Opossum are alien to Montana. Settlers introduced the Virginia Opossum to the Pacific Northwest because they liked to eat them
You both are so amazing and positive. I hope I have a work environment so positive some day! Liked and subbed! BTW, I found you from your kemosabe vids and let me tell you that guy is so CUTE
THIS IS SO CREATIVE AND HILARIOUS 😂 I hope this goes viral
I love every person's that are involved in rhis.
Poor Blueberry's toes! It always makes me so sad.
lol! This is so up my ally! I can smell the difference between my cats and bunnies. They all smell unique 😂😅😇
Ophelia's hands & feet are so interesting!
Mother Love Bone - please don't disrespect the o'possum.
That was hilarious. Both did really good!
That was so cute just to watch the expressions:)
This is amazing
You're 'nose blind'! (Taylor and I...)

Here from epic
I can tell if my dog has an ear infection by smelling him. Lol 😂 Now I can tell my husband that I'm not weird!
A fun(for us, at least) reminder of the hard parts of your job!

AUGUSTO!!
I love seeing that guy in AW videos. 👍
This was such a fun idea!

I love your vids. Keep it up :) :)
this is still science.
I'm so happy that they pronounce Smaug's name correctly! :)
7:36 I worry about the same thing daily...
I work at a Zoo AND a pet store so I think I'm immune to those types of smells.
Love this! ❤️
What if we raise the snakes?
What?
What?
They're semi-arboreal so that would be a good idea.
Augusto did an excellent job providing positive punishment.
Im surprised they got any of them
Ophelia is so cute
this is so funny! Did you have trouble finding enough animals who wouldn't be noisy?
Ophelia is soooooo cute!!!!😘
Why is Augusto not always in the intro animation?
Jessi said a while ago that they took him out of the intro because it was confusing to some people since he doesn't appear on camera often. I guess they just use the intro with him in it if he's actually in the video now.
@@kimbookish That makes sense! I just thought I imagined him for a while!

Jessi sniffing like: hmmmmmmmmmmm
The skink don't stink!
But imagine Augusto going around smelling all the animals to pick which ones for them to guess
When they smell Ophelia, and Ophelia smell them back 🥺✨✨✨✨✨
What do you think Baby Yoda smells like?
Cool video.
Oddly this reminded me of 9 1/2 weeks...using animals instead of strawberries.... ;-)
Taylor looks like Helen Keller.
I was watching your videos in my school
Taste test next!
Too funny 🤣
