I have the same boat but in the bigger 12' version. It is now 4 or 5 years old and still in great shape. The 12'version is also deeper and a bit wider and has oars instead of the paddle. The rest is the same. I run it with a Yamaha 2hp. Great boat, the cross stiched floor is fantastic
That boat is great for an excellent day of fishing. I love the transformations you make. I am a fan of creating and transforming kayaks into pieces of war for fishing in any environment.Much success always and greetings from Puerto Rico 🔱🇵🇷🔱
The nav and spot lights are perfect. The rope light makes you more visible and you can set the port and starboard lights to match nav lights while underway. The transom extension could be more seamless if it was wider and rested on top of the boat transom to transfer some of the motor weight off the bolts. Quick clamps for trolling motor mount.
For the front facing lights, I would of slightly spreaded them to give a bit more light spread coverage in front instead of 2 light beams down the same line.
Yeah that's probably a good idea, i wanted a light cannon to illuminate the way directly ahead but I could probably spread it out a little more. Thanks for watching
Impressive. I wouldn't say I'm going to go dump my Sea Eagle that cost much more. It does appear to have decent valves. The hull covering is just a little extra protection because you're really floating on the pontoons and the floor. That thing has a drop-stich floor. Wild. Inflatables for me and many people mean more portability. I think you made the boat a little more fiddly to set transport with all the additions. But its still much lighter than a hard shell fishing kayak. Nicely done and awesome fixing up that motor from the orient. Makes me at least consider taking a look at Chinese outboards.
Love the build man! So dope! Electrical work. 👌love the control board from someone who does high and low voltage in Florida myself. Will definitely find this boat on temu.
That is awesome. With all the past knowledge and creativity, you have created a dream boat. Would be waiting for the real test with the trolling motor and transducer. Nothing there needs to be changed. The best thing you have done is it is cost effective, otherwise, I would have not commented on this video and give a like.
Okay. First of all. Amazing video! I don't know why I'm watching this video, I don't want to build a boat like this, I don't want to have a boat like this, but you kept my attention from the beginning to the end of the video! Congratulations…
Honestly huge shout out to the seller from Temu. Hawking out the $50 for a faulty carb and repair costs was awesome to see. American businesses will do anything to stifle a refund.
Sick build. Fyi, don’t rely on the volt readout to indicate lifepo battery life. It works for lead acid but that battery curve voltage drops hard for that battery when it’s low
great video man. super in depth and love the modifications. I live near a very private lake and don't exactly have easy access to boat slips/lakefront property due to cost and demand on boat slips. something like this vs a kayak would be awesome and this vid gave me some confidence in buying something with ease of use and transport. not bad at all for the price!
Milwaukee hat, Makita tools. Don't think us Makita guys didn't notice 😆 Milwaukee does have cooler hats, but Makita stuff has never failed me. Although that M12 installation drill/driver is pretty bougie. I like their Surge soft impacts as well in both 12v and 18v. I've seen other videos about this interesting inflatable, if I only had a car or SUV and not a truck this would be a viable option for getting out on the water rather than tossing the kayak in the back. I would be interested to know how long the setup/takedown time is for this boat. Inflation alone, probably 10 minutes? This is a great video, thank you for going through all the steps and explaining things so clearly! A solid build, and the video is well produced. Hope to see some relaxing fishing videos in the near future. See ya on the next one!
Hey thanks! Yeah I've had the makita stuff along time. I have one battery that still works for it so I won't give them up yet. That 12v Milwaukee drill has an angle head attachment which is great for boat work so that's why I got that one. The setup time is probably 20 minutes for the boat and components, and another whole 10 minutes to string out the rope light. The inflation part is probably only 5 minutes if that, I'm using the electric pump these days. No more hand pumping. Thanks for watching
A few Guys use those here for inland fishing on smaller lakes etc. I'm not sure if it's yours or the bigger version. They pair it with a Savage Gear electric motor. Of course any suitable brand would be fine. It seems to work okay that way. For lure fishing for Pike etc. It's not a fast engine but great for trolling and for use on small to medium waters. I wouldn't fancy using it for much else. 😊
I'm curious if this is Tampa Bay you're in? Sick setup! The only thing I would add is some reflective tape for other boaters, and a canopy setup for a little relief from the sun.
Amazing build! That battery is so cool, I need to upgrade my "dinosaur battery" 🦕 on my build. I mentioned on your skiff build, make sure to register and title that boat so you don't get in trouble with FL Fish and Wildlife. They'll definitely know since you're not displaying a tag number.
Cool project , i like the inflatables because no trailer required. The only drawback i see is the chinese i doubt it wil late long. I'm curious how the battery will hold up powering everything especially the trolling motor on a night of fishing.
I do a lot of bushcraft camping. I just got back from a camping trip last week with a lot of gear. I got off TEMU. I was very happy with everything I got off TEMU. Yes, some things were junk, but for the most part, I was very happy with TEMU.
Would run a 2nd rope light low down inside. link it to a switch. Would also upgrade to a switch panel that indicators on/off. lastly if needed a light inside to see what you are doing.(if lower rope light is not enough
I'm assuming that you leave it inflated all the time? I'm looking for something like this that I can deflate and pack to take when I'm RV'ing. I'm unable to tote a 10' to 12' kayak, no room to store it.
No I deflate it, most of the components stay on the front board which is only attached with 4 zip ties, and the back bracket with the rear lights and rod holders only had 2 nuts that keeps it on. I made it very easy to break the whole thing down. The only annoying part is stringing out the courtesy light. So all the components come off in minutes and it deflates easy
Hook up some kind of solar charging ...and your set bro.... I've been wanting this boat for a year or so just was nervous on buying one but I think I'm going to get one
Since I have filmed this video one of the pontoons has developed a tiny leak, i need to fill it every couple days now. So it's not a perfect boat, pretty nice though
Hey man gave me a bunch of ideas I’ve been looking for one of these for quite some time. I gotta say though! 250 Dollars is nothing compared to the around 750-1000 Dollars they range here in Europe.. that’s without ANY extra goodies besides what you get in the box! How has it held up? Anything you feel you would change or do differently? I have thought about maybe adding a small turbine electric motor on the belly of the boat instead of a classic outboard electric? Feel free to get back at me! Best regards, Btw would you be up to ship one to me?😂
Looks great. First upgrade, Torqeeto electric outboard and ditch the trolling motor. Also, just a thought, try deflating the sides, then see if the rear seats fit.

10/26/24 Looks great I’ve been looking at this boat to replace my kayaks I lost in a house fire. Did you consider the 4 stroke 4 HP jet pump outboard motor? How long have you had it now WLL3rd
Nice I'm looking at the 14-foot 3-person version on temu around 500$ for a build like this. I've been playing with the idea of building a mini pontoon boat. Also tbn fan and eyeing a john boat to build just need the free time
5:50 It sure does look like there is a set screw there on the right side near the base of the motor for adjusting the height. Similar to most trolling motors. So is that something else? Why would that screw even be there if not a height adjustment?
5:39 "Anti-ventilation plate" not anti-cavitation plate. Cavitation is what happens when the edges of a prop cause water to boil causing pitting in the prop. Ventilation occurs when air is sucked in from above the prop, eg during hard turns. The plate prevents this ventilation - hence anti-ventilation plate.
I just learned that my pulse width modulation regulator i installed in my trolling motor adds hella noise to my garmin clear view sonar.. the traditional sonar is unaffected.. pretty weird...

Let me know what you would have done differently with this build?
It looks like you might be able to loosen the bolts on the collar and slide the motor shaft up to raise the prop height. I could be wrong too.
Slap Dura-rubber or some kind of extra rubber coating to beef up the bottom of that boat
@@KeystoneAnglers ok I will look into that, i was thinking maybe like a Kevlar fabric

Yes. If you are a pound bigger than Joe, get a bigger boat. He added lots of weight. Two motors and a big battery.. Looks cool.
It was fun watching you build this fishing boat and make it yours. I hope to see you catching fish out of it with your next video. Thanks
Thanks man, yeah I actually need to land some fish on it now

You should now add some kind of solar charging system for the battery. That way, during the day fishing, you're recharging the battery.

5:50 It sure does look like there is a set screw there on the right side near the base of the motor for adjusting the height. Similar to most trolling motors. So is that something else? Why would that screw even be there if not a height adjustment?
I think it's the tension adjustment for the steering. Makes it harder or easier to twist the motor in the bracket
Were did you find the strip lighting? Whats the brand?
Amazon, i don't remember the brand. But you have to lookup RGBIC if it doesn't have the IC it's not going to make the cool patterns
You can also mask the sides off and spray the bottom with that can of Rhino liner
That's a good idea if the rhino liner sticks to the rubber material the boat is made of. I might try that
Where did you find that PVC board? I'm having a hard time finding something like that. The closest I got to that was a 18"x24" cutting board
It might be called expanded PVC board or PVC foam board. Google expanded 3/4" pvc board
