Not a boat guy, but I will tell you that your work is incredible. I have watched a couple of your videos and you have a real talent for what you do with these boats. I appreciate how you find these derelict boats and give them new life. I don't own a boat, nor do I plan to own a boat, but I do plan on watching more of your videos. Keep up the incredible work!
@@thrashhpandaa Agreed, incredible resource to those around him. Wealth of knowledge I wish I had. Also curious how much went into this particular build, though.
My guess would be about 3 or 4 thousand at the most since he does almost everything himself...it's definitely got a lot of sweat equity in it. The hardest part is finding a boat that isn't rotted out from the salt and sun...neglected fiberglass doesn't hold up well to salt and baking heat year after year. Getting a boat with a good transom and hull like that and a motor that can be saved for 500 is pretty much unheard of.
@glamdring0007 I'd bet my left nut he paid more like $1500 for the boat. Trailer alone is worth $500 let alone the nearly new boat motor with dirty carbs.
All these years watching the time and care that you put into restoring these boats and motors I would feel really comfortable buying from you. Keep it up! Great work!
Nice little flats boat, quite the transformation. From watching past projects I was surprised you didn't put any LED lighting in the boat. Thanks for the video, hope all is well with you.
I use to own a 1970 Mako Center Counsel “money pit” and told myself never again would I own a boat but after watching this video it’s got me rethinking of getting a smaller boat. Awesome Job man!
Dude! Been WAY too long since you've put something out. So excited when this came up! Great redo. So mind telling how much was your all in $ after rebuilding the trailer and boat?
This is inspiring for so many reasons, all the junk lying around in the world most of it could be something amazing with the proper care and restoration, thank you for this.
Glad to see new content! I bought n sold 6 boats after rebuilding engines trailers wiring fiberglassing painting!! It’s a lot of fun. I did repairs beyond any level ever in my life. Only because of encouragement of your can do it positive attitude!! Thank You brother!!
Wow, that looks amazing! Nice job! Only things I would suggest is change front deck to flush hatches and add a speed knob to the wheel. Beautiful boat!
glad to see a new episode out, cant wait for spring to hit the north east and get my own projects finished. what is your favorite method to finding these bargain boat projects? auctions? facebook market? id love to make a good habit out of flipping boats and im just about ready to sell the two i have. thanks for the great content
Glad to see you back dude 😊. Awesome little rebuild. You would be killing it here in the Seychelles 🇸🇨 by restoring boats. They would be calling you the 'the boat king'..👍🏼
My favorite part in all of the videos is when he gets the boat finished and puts it in the water for the first time and he says " Well i hooked up the steering backwards!" LOL! Great work my dude love the videos!!
Happy new year Boat Guy!!! It's been too long! Been worried about you. Hope you and yours are ok. Love your channel. Looking forward to seeing more on a regular basis.
Happy new year, glad to see you staying busy with projects. I too like to bring older machines/equipment back from the abyss, it's very satisfying and rewarding work. Currently working on a Yamaha Bravo Long Track Trapper. Good luck!
My step dad is in love with boats. You did an amazing job on this project. My step dad does the same thing gets a old boat, then he fixes then sells it. Amazing work my friend
I am impressed, my first 15' fishing boat was a complete breakdown and rebuild etc. Self taught... lol. So exciting to see that is still being done. Excellent job and video! Tight Lines !!
@@JoseRamirez-fi2nf Yes, very much so. When I rebuilt "toys" I did it to enjoy them and save $$. In the case of a used boat I got the motor up and runing and sold it to put the $$ toward a new engine. Used running outbaord engines sell fast. This way I had a very reliable boat, unless you are a master mechanic like , "thatboatguy" you don't want to worry about a boat motor when you are 5 -15 miles from the dock. Outboard motors are "touchy" at best if they ever had major work done to them (complete rebuilds etc); with a used boat you NEVER know about the engine history. I found Yamaha outboards (IMO) engines to be the best - by far, owned several new ones and NEVER had an issue. You'll note there did not seem to be any structural issues with the boat shown, that is key. Also after a few years of use (when you wanted a bigger boat - you always do), you could sell a rehabed boat with that almost new Yamaha engine easily.
I love watching boat repair/restoration channels on youtube. There is not one of them that compares with yours! You have a massive amount of talent and know-how!! I bet you also have a side of your life. You have to be a professional in some sort of service and repair industry!!
You are truly amazing at what you do. The best content. If you could produce more videos then I believe you would have millions of subscribers. Love the craftwork and can't wait until the next project!
So happy to see you working on your carbs while at a table instead of on the ground! Nice job on the boat. It looks great and should make someone really happy.
Dude what a beautiful refurb! Can you talk about home much you have into this refurb. Sweet wrap it really pops and the outboard paint is amazing. Are you in Clearwater Tampa Bay area?
That was a perfect job and edit! Really enjoyable to see all of that work done in such a "short" video, great stuff. I subscribed and hope to see more of your projects :D
perfect job ? are you BLIND.. now go look when the prop goes on and see how the corrosion has been sprayed over on the carrier instead of being rubbed down primed with chromate then sprayed phantom black.... the paint on the motor will fall off for sure... then the front hatch going on with not a single trace of sealant, and you say perfect job.. ha ha this bloke is a proper bodging bullshit artist...
Awesome video as always. Something positive to watch on the internet. Cool dog too. Always like seeing him walk around the yard while you're working. Ever think about taking a picture of the new home these boats go to with the new boat owners? That would be kind of cool obviously not mentioning the business part of it between you and them. But you do such fantastic job rebuilding these boats it would be cool to see your clients with a big smile on their face as they purchase or drive off with the boat. Looking forward to more videos. quick tip from a painter. on corners add a few pieces of tape together then use a utility knife and trace the rounded edge, will give you a nice and clean line
I have to say you did a great job on changing that boat into a new boat again and it's your new boat now and the best hard work is what you put in is what you get out and you did great bud . 👍 💙💙
